I am looking at ASP.NET membership controls (2008) and have been dropping them onto web pages to see how it all works. In some ASP.NET starter kit web site examples that I downloaded, I notice that between the asp:control tags I can see all the tags of the constituent parts like the textboxes, labels and buttons etc. However with the membership control that I am using in 2008 I do not see these other tags. Is this because the starter kit examples are from an older version or is it possible to expose these inner tags? It seems that this would make it possible to customize the controls. Thanks

Let's say if you have added a login control to your project's page, if you click on the smart-tag at top right corner of the control, you will find an option convert to template that will allow you to see the same things that you can see in the starter kit project
i hope this helps

I am creating one custom application that is going to be available in the MS Teams. I have a requirement to capture data from the users in the About tab.
SO, Is it possible to customize the About Tab in Microsoft Teams for a custom application?
I will need to put the input box and form controls in that About tab.
You definitely can't customize the -capabilities- of the About box - at best you could put in a link directing users where to go to complete the form that you've hosted elsewhere. Note that the About box does support markdown, so it might even be possible to embed the link as an actual hyperlink, but I've not tried that.
As an alternative, perhaps you could offer the needed functionality into the app itself. E.g. if you have a tab, put something in the footer for example.
You cannot customize the About Tab for custom application, This is by design. You can customize the App detail page as documented here.
How can we switch from classic UI to Touch UI in AEM 6.2. I see documentation to switch from touch ui to classic but not other way round.
Site Wide
In system console (http://localhost:4502/system/console/configMgr) there is an OSGi configuration for WCM Authoring UI Mode Service. You can change the property of Default authoring UI mode to TOUCH.
Per User
Login as the user, navigate to Projects (http://localhost:4502/projects.html/content/projects), select the user icon in the top right hand corner, select the settings icon, ensure that Authoring Mode has Touch-Optimized selected.
Other Items
You should also ensure the OSGi config for Day CQ Root Mapping has the property Target Path set to /projects.html
Here is a short cut to switch between the two UI modes:
Open any page from Site Admin by default it will load in Touch UI Mode. The URL will be say http://localhost:4502/cf#/content/test.html. Now to switch to classic UI you would write http://localhost:4502/editor.html/content/test.html. Replace 'cf#' in the URL with 'editor.html'.
Three methods to do so are:-
[User Level]
[Global Level]Go to:-http://localhost:4502/system/console/configMgr
and choose WCM Authoring UI Mode Service
using cf# or editor.html
If your site is :- http://localhost:4502/content/geometrixx-outdoors/en.html
then
Classic UI :- http://localhost:4502/cf#/content/geometrixx-outdoors/en.html
Touch UI :- http://localhost:4502/editor.html/content/geometrixx-outdoors/en.html

Unfortunately, Classic UI has been more or less abandoned since 6.1 and won't likely be updated anymore as Adobe is trying to move away from ExtJS.
That said what you could do is add a custom button to the sidekick that would navigate to the TouchUI, which would involves adding the editor.html at the root of the URL of the page (and removing the #cf if it's there)
You can follow this link that gives an example on how to add a new function to the Classic UI sidekick.

Nate Yolles has produced a Chrome Extension that allows switching between modes amongst other things

I am new for telerik controls, and i am too much confused about these controls how to use these controls in my asp.net site.
Assuming that you already have a licensed verison of the controls, this should get you started: RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX Step-by-Step tutorial.
Also, Telerik (in addition to StackOverflow) has a terrific community that will help answer questions on their forum.
Don't forget to check out their Documentation and Tutorials page.
You will have to download telerik kit, from its website, it will give you trial version for short period. You will have to then install that kit, and then add its dll file in the toolbox through choose items, and its control will then appear in the toolbox, you might have to close visual studio and again restart it ,contorls to appear in toolbox. and then just drag and drop the control you want. If you want full version, you will have to buy kit of telerik, then you will get licensed telerik controls.
the above answers as true, but as a simple soultion one u have purchased the telerik licence you can just
1) Reference the Telerik.Web.UI, Telerik.Web.UI.Skins and Telerik.Web.Desgin in your project and thats it ,( that's exactly what I'm doing in my current Project) ,
2)after you added those references now you have to register the telerik library in your page like this:
<%# Register TagPrefix="telerik" Namespace="Telerik.Web.UI" Assembly="Telerik.Web.UI" %>
3) add telerik controls using tags like this example:
<telerik:RadAjaxPanel ID="pnlControlsall" runat="server" EnableAJAX="true" EnableAjaxSkinRendering="true" LoadingPanelID="RadAjaxLoadingPanel1" >
thanks and I hope this helps as I have transferred my real working procedure to you here
It is very easy , don't be confuse of telerik components..
Two basic things to keep in mind are ,
- add references of telerik dll's in your application.
- and use events of telerik controls accoring to need , for e.g. radtree view has various events like nodeNeeded, MouseDoubleClick etc.
Telerik components are fun ! Enjoy..
I'm trying to get to grips with customising a Ribbon Bar for a converted A2003 app. I'm trying to work out how to use my own custom images on button controls in the ribbon. Can anyone point me to an example for Access 2007 that can do this pls?
Please check this MSDN article (Adding Custom Dynamic Menus to the Office Fluent User Interface) and see if it helps you. Furthermore I would point you to the specifying image resource MSDN article, because you need different sized images for different sized buttons - read the bottom of my post to make it easier on you.
I believe there was also custom images within the official MS example on ribbon extensibility with Access 2007 - I hope this example is sufficient, it helped me a great lot.
My personal favorite is just using a graphical UI editor, such as the "Custom UI Editor Tool". With it you just click a button to insert an image and it works (as explained in this tutorial). Even better as the Custom UI Editor is the IDBE Ribbon Creatror - my personal tool of choice. A shareware version is available from the website.
I have a working example class object you can use that makes this a good deal less code.
http://www.members.shaw.ca/albertKallal/Ribbon/ribbon.htm
The above lets you use a very much like previous style code approach. So, to set a picture for a ribbon, you can go:
meRib("Button1").Picture = "HappyFace.png"
The same download has a working form in which some images in the ribbon change from choices made on the form.
I'm looking for some examples of production websites that currently use the Telerik Rad Grid. I'd really like to see some real world scenarios in action, other than the Telerik RadGrid demo. Does anyone know of any websites that use it?
This article from their website says that MSDN, TechNet, and CodePlex websites are using pieces of their components.
"Microsoft has chosen to implement RadEditor in the Wiki Annotation Editor...[and] all Project Discussion pages, becoming the custom inline editor."
Here is one for you... The first tab uses the RadGrid control and the second tab uses the RadScheduler control...
[link redacted per request of site owner]
I will post blog on this later to demonstrate
There are some case studies on their website. like for winforms, asp.net ajax etc.
Most controls like that are used in internal webapps. It is hard to provide public facing examples of sites using DataGrid-like at all(not impossible, just rare), let alone by one vendor on one platform.
