Possible Duplicate:
how can i make my product as a trial version for 30 days ?
Dear all,
Recently I have developed a software for windows and I want to make a trial version out of it for advertisement. The trial version I have in mind should be runnable only for 30 days for example. I myself have an idea about saving the time of the system in a file or in the registry of windows, but changing the time of the system can also make my program confused.
What do you suggest ?
Thanks in advance
using registry or any other recource on client system can make your software easy to crack
Instead of that you may write a licence server and your application can check the licence over that server for each run..

I am in a bit of a pickle.
I have a development machine, imaged at 1507 version of windows,
I do need to update it to 1607 Anniversary Update to replicate a bug our software has.
The caveat is version 1703 Creators is already out.
How can I update my system from 1507 to a specific 1607 version of windows 10?
What I've considered
Windows update - it is not working, I think windows build 1507 is already too old and is excluded from WU.
Windows Update Assistant - is trying to bump me all the way to 1703 ( Creators Edition ) which is not what I need.
MediaCreationTool - I have found a media creation tool targeted specifically for 1607 build from a 3rd party website, but I want to upgrade the system, not re-install the whole windows. And my understanding is this tool will re-install not update the image.
What I think would work for me I think is the Windows 10 Upgrade Assistant set to update 1607 specifically, but I can't seem to find that option / download. I only found the assistant version that will take you directly to the latest greatest 1703 ( Creators Windows 10 build )
Any help is appreciated,
Maciej
Old builds expire and will not boot. You may have to go to Win 7 pro and try to upgrade to an older build of win 10 from physical media, then don't go online and monitor the PC from a 2nd computer.
Look through your registry hives and try to extract the old build data. You may need forensic software, and I hope you don't have to carve the drive. If it is an SSD, it may be difficult, or not.
Your browser may not even let you download the old builds
The OS i'm dealing with is a LTBS ( Long Term Service Branch ). It looks like the only way I can proceed is with the dedicated ISO file, and I'll have to wait to obtain it though the IT department of the company I'm working with ... which will take some time but seems this is the only reasonable way to go.
Other options that I've googled in the opening post won't work in my case. I.e. the update assistant path won't work on this version of Windows 10.
I'm marking this as resolved as I ended up with a resolution to my problem.
In terms of down votes ... appreciate the feedback, initially I got a bit upset but the truth is that I eventually figured this out by googling stuff out, and using SO as a parallel path to speed me up is I guess not the indented use case.
I'll bear that in mind next time.
Thanks,
Maciej
Do ICS in Lazarus is installed and works fine on all platforms?
I read somewhere that there is a problem with Linux. Is this problem solved?
I ported ICS to Free Pascal in the 2005 timeframe, but I never maintained it, because I needed SSL which was back then still a payed option. The backwards compatibility all the way to Delphi v1 was also very frustrating.
At the time I mostly worked on console level (since my target was a server), but the last attempts showed designtime components could be made to work too.
Current status is unknown, but at the time Francois merged back most fixes. That's 7 years ago though. My guess is a died in the wool porter could do it in a couple of days. FPC is more compatible than ever.
I kept a small notes page at http://www.stack.nl/~marcov/ics.html
I suggest to try Indy Components from the Indy project.
They work well under Linux, Windowd and FreeBSD.

What better tool than Sikuli to use for screen automation on Windows 7 (or preferably multi-platform) [closed]

Closed 10 years ago.
There are alternatives to sikuli to automate windows repetitive operations with image recognition?
Sikuli is great but it seems to not be updated since 2010 and there are no record tools.
I bookmarked your question because I was also interested in this, but I think the lack of answers actually indicates there are no alternatives. Sikuli is a great tool, and it is being updated pretty often. Check out its Launchpad site. The RC3 was released in December 2012 and is only 3 months old.
Also, this is what I've found on their github page:
A new version
=============
is planned for January 2013. More information at: https://github.com/RaiMan/Sikuli12.11 and on Sikuli's Launchpad page:
https://launchpad.net/sikuli
As for record tools, yes it's a pity there aren't any, but with no alternatives it's still a fair deal to get Sikuli for free.
There is a very close question here: actionscript development on mac. Howerver, the answers are two years ago. There are comments under the question asking for updates but got no response. So I am here to ask.
What are some good ways to setup ActionScript development environment on MAC? If Adobe CreativeSuite is installed, that should give you a complete dev environment? If so, why people are still asking about IDE?
I personally prefer Vim + command line tools. I found that Flex SDK http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flex/flex-sdk-download.html might be able to serve for this purpose. However, not sure whether it will have some compatibility problem. Any other suggestion?
I'm not a MAC user but I think the accepted answer in the question you link to probably still stands; namely if you want to do serious ActionScript development on a MAC you should be considering either FlashBuilder or FDT.
The answer to your second question will depend on the version of CreativeSuite you have installed. If you have the master collection, which appears to include FlashBuilder 4.6 Premium, you're in luck. Otherwise not as the Flash IDE (ironically) is pretty dreadful for writing ActionScript.

I am trying to use Advanced Installer as an application installer and auto-updater. Most of the resources is available on Advanced Installer website only.
Have any one used it before? I would like to hear more about bugs / stability issues if there are, especially auto-update feature
Regarding the bug/stability issues, you can see from the release history the frequency on auto-updater bug fixes (six this year - four in v9.2 and one each in v9.1.1, v9.0.1 and v9.0).
What I've noticed is that occurring issues are promptly solved.
I posted earlier the following:
I have used the free version of Advanced Installer, including its auto-update feature, and I have not experienced any problems with it.
Please note that I was talking about the ability of Advanced Installer MSI scripts to automatically remove older files when upgrading to a newer version of a program. I was not talking about the ability of the application to check for an update automatically. That's probably not in the free feature-set.
I have used advanced Installer It is really good.I would recommend to use it if you are developing a msi setup file for web applications. It is even integrated
with several other tools used for developing such as wix, inno setuo etc
I have not used Advanced Installer, however, just wanted to refer InstallJammer which is a multiplatform installer http://www.installjammer.com/, which I have been using to create application installer and easy to use and configure.
I am using the Advanced Installer daily for my work . I can say that their manuals are not helpful enough, especially for people who do not have any experience with those tools
. However if you pay for support , they can help you almost immediately .
For sure there are some limits about this tools especially if you want your build to be MSI the UI will not respond as well as the exe - but i know they are trying to fix this issue .
If you learn how to use it FOR sure you are going to like it.
The nice part about advanced installer is that they collect analytics (you have to pay for this feature ) and they can show you how many downloads per day , or how many users chose option 1 rather than option 2.
Or you can send those statistics to your webserver and with POST can manipulate however you want - which is free!
