I'm developing a file system driver.
I use free build Windows as a target machine.
If I could get a checked build of Windows, I think I get more convenient. Isn't it.
But I do not know even where I can get it. Does it need a cost?
And what are the benefits I can get, when I use it.
Checked builds are available to MSDN subscribers from the MSDN download website.
The benefits are that when you attach a kernel debugger to debug your driver, you will gets lots of extra debugging information sent to the debug console, especially if you call any function with invalid parameters, it will be caught closer to the actual error because every function does parameter checking (that's the checked part of checked build) and print a warning.
Here is a link with more information
And a description of one of the checked builds available on MSDN:

I have this Windows Service on my development machine that's eating large amount of my memory when I run the application we're developing.
I have Visual Studio Ultimate 2013 Update 1.
Windows 8.1
.NET 4.5.51641
Event Tracing for Windows. See the article Improve Debugging And Performance Tuning With ETW in April 2007 Edition of the MSDN Magazine for more details.
I have an old application developed in Microsoft Visual studio 2003. I have received a change request to modify few functionalities.
Please let me know the link to download Visual Studio 2003.
Unless you are MSDN subscriber you can not obtain the Visual Studio 2003. See this Link for MSDN Subscribers
Take a look at Development Tools and Languages too.
I assume VS 2003 is not supported and maybe also not available for purchase anymore. For further information have a look here.
As of end of 2019 MS still provides downloads for free SDK:
Windows® Server 2003 SP1 Platform SDK exe
Windows® Server 2003 SP1 Platform SDK ISO
Will we see a release of VS2013 RC on Dreamspark (Student version of MSDN)?
I wish to download vs2013RC. But not a trial one.. On microsoft's site, it has a trial download link which ends after 90 days.
Seems like it is out as of today (27 Oct). Note that while the ad mentions only the Professional edition being available on Dreamspark, you can also download the Premium. However as far as the Ultimate edition goes - which contains the new CodeLens feature - is still available only in RC. It is not yet clear whether VS Ultimate (final) will be available on Dreamspark.
Also I see that Vs2013 RTM is released on dreamspark now.
I see the VS2010 Pro includes LightSwitch. But from the LightSwitch website only has links to download the 30 day demo (which can be extended by 60 days with a registration).
I don't have a MSDN subscription. So how do I add this to my VS2010 Pro?
Though it not explicitly documented, seems like you can download "full" version of LightSwitch for VS 2010 only if you have MSDN subscription or any of following levels:
Developer AA; VS Pro with MSDN (Retail); VS Premium with MSDN (MPN);
BizSpark Admin; BizSpark; VS Ultimate with MSDN (VL); VS Premium with
MSDN (VL); VS Pro with MSDN (VL); VS Premium with MSDN (Retail); VS
Ultimate with MSDN (Retail); VS Ultimate with MSDN (MPN); MSDN AA
Institution; VS Ultimate with MSDN (NFR FTE);

Visual Studio 2010 Pro includes LightSwitch. How?
Heading says it all really. I would like to use LS for a reporting/simple management app I have to write, but I doubt I'll be able to get a license for a singe bit of development. I've heard some people say LightSwitch comes with VS2010 Pro, but as I already had the beta installed before I got 2010, I'm not really sure where I stand!
I didn't find any information if Lightswitch is shipped with VS2010 prof (don't think so) as far as I can read my MSDN-Download description:

you will get it when you have at least a VS Pro with MSDN subsrciption .. maybe this heps as well
