any ideas how to fix it?

Apparently you are experiencing the JAR hell issue. Change your dependency in pom.xml to:
<dependency>
<groupId>org.springmodules</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-modules-validation</artifactId>
<version>0.8</version>
<exclusions>
<exclusion>
<groupId>org.springframework</groupId>
<artifactId>spring</artifactId>
</exclusion>
<exclusion>
<groupId>org.springframework</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-mock</artifactId>
</exclusion>
</exclusions>
</dependency>
If it does not help, try running:
$ mvn dependency:tree
This will help you to find duplicated or overlapping JARs - then you can exclude them using the technique above.

IntelliJ: Why when I try to mark lower level source/test folders and then change pom.xml, folder markings are reset?

So I am using IntelliJ and I tried to mark my folders based on the structure suggested by Spring Initializr (https://start.spring.io/)
Here is what I want to achieve (two source roots, a resource and a test resource folder and a tests root folder):
When I make any change in the pom.xml it resets my marking to:
I am curious why this happens.. It doesn't happen when I have two top level folders src and test.. I am using IntelliJ 2016.3.4.
Here is my pom.xml if it makes any difference:

Any help is appreciated! Thanks!
Your pom.xml overrides Maven defaults via this line: <sourceDirectory>src</sourceDirectory>, therefore src is configured as Source root when importing. Remove this line to restore the original behavior.

Configuring pom.xml to work with tomee

Well, i'm starting now with tomee, my pom.xml was configured to use with tomcat. So, i don't have sure what i have to remove or add to work with tomee with the followings technologies: JPA, CDI, EJB, HIBERNATE.
I configured my pom.xml in this way:

But i got some errors, see:
when start server i got error:
Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.jboss.weld.environment.servlet.Listener
What is the exactly libs i have to add in pom.xml to use tomee and what scope ?
If you are developing a Vanilla JavaEE application, you do not need this dependency:
<dependency>
<groupId>org.apache.openejb</groupId>
<artifactId>openejb-core</artifactId>
<version>4.7.4</version>
<scope>provided</scope>
</dependency>
Why is that? Because TomEE implements the JavaEE standard without anything else. If you are tying your application to TomEE you're not using it correctly!
Next, you didn't say what version of TomEE you are using, but these dependencies are suspect:
<dependency>
<groupId>com.sun.faces</groupId>
<artifactId>jsf-api</artifactId>
<version>2.2.12</version>
<scope>provided</scope>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>com.sun.faces</groupId>
<artifactId>jsf-impl</artifactId>
<version>2.2.12</version>
<scope>provided</scope>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>javax.servlet</groupId>
<artifactId>jstl</artifactId>
<version>1.2</version>
<scope>provided</scope>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>javax.servlet</groupId>
<artifactId>javax.servlet-api</artifactId>
<version>3.1.0</version>
<scope>provided</scope>
</dependency>
TomEE 1.7.4 is JavaEE6 compatible, so JSF 2.2 won't work, unless you replace the MyFaces 2.1 jars in the lib directory with the latest MyFaces 2.2 jars. You ARE correct in using them as provided dependencies, so don't change that. The other option is to use TomEE 7, which hasn't been released, but provides JavaEE 7 compatibility.
<dependency>
<groupId>javax.annotation</groupId>
<artifactId>jsr250-api</artifactId>
<version>1.0</version>
</dependency>
^ This should be removed completely. The vanilla JavaEE jar provides those interfaces.
Ok, so at a minimum you'll have to fix these issues before you can continue. Once you do that, report back in another question any further issues if you have them. Good luck!

Spring Security java.lang.IncompatibleClassChangeError. Maven Dependency Management issue

Hi I searched this forum for getting the solution of the above problem and some one quoted that using maven's dependency management this kind of issue be rectified. But I generally do not much aware of spring dependency issues so I am posting this problem here.
java java.lang.IncompatibleClassChangeError: class org.springframework.core.LocalVariableTableParameterNameDiscoverer$ParameterNameDiscoveringVisitor has interface org.springframework.asm.ClassVisitor as super class

project working with ant, fails with maven

We have a Spring Web Application project in production. For whatever the reason the client now wants to handle the project with maven. I tried to convert all the library jar files to maven dependencies. The application builds and gets packaged as war just fine, but when I deploy on my dev server(which is tomcat by the way, production server is also tomcat), it fails with this error:
Caused by: org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanCreationException: Error creating bean with name '(inner bean)#2': FactoryBean threw exception on object creation; nested exception is com.sun.xml.ws.model.RuntimeModelerException: runtime modeler error: Wrapper class ws.merchant.service.jaxws.InitializePayment is not found. Have you run APT to generate them?

va:109)
at org.springframework.beans.factory.support.BeanDefinitionValueResolver.resolveInnerBean(BeanDefinitionValueResolver.java:274)
... 57 more
Caused by: com.sun.xml.ws.model.RuntimeModelerException: runtime modeler error: Wrapper class ws.merchant.service.jaxws.InitializePayment is not found. Have you run APT to generate them?
This is an error I know from other projects with web services. When I see this error, I create the wrapper classes using wsgen and add them to the web service in question.

But the problem is, I dont have this problem when deploying by Ant. I could use the web service just fine.
I am using jaxws-spring.jar for publishing Spring service as a web service. Am i missing some other dependency here? I have been wrestling with this conversion from Ant to Maven for three days, any other tip is also appreciated.
Check your ANT build script to see if it runs "wsgen" somewhere. Probably does and you will most likley need implement in your pom file. If this is the case you can probably use use this plugin in Maven to generate the appropriate artifacts.
http://mojo.codehaus.org/jaxws-maven-plugin/wsgen-mojo.html
Check out this link which seems to describe what you are looking for:

Ok so (correct me if I'm wrong) I see that you don't bundle the app on the (dev or Continuous Integration) machine, then deploy it to your servers.
Instead, the server downloads all the files it needs.
So I would advise 3 things :
1) Find where, on the linux server, is located the cassandra.yaml file. tmp/cassandra.yaml might be a relative path, but relative to what ? When you locate it, you can trace how you got it, (from a jar ?), and we can advise.
2) I assume you had to install maven on both servers (windows and linux) as maven downloads the dependencies on each server.
Maybe something is different, or went wrong.
For instance, you could have a different maven setup (repositories), even if your pom seems to be self sufficient about repositories.
Or something could have been wrong the first time you downloaded a dependency. You can go in the windows server .m2 folder, and see if something is wrong with the cassandra dependencies (sometimes, you have to delete a broken "dependency", if it could not be downloaded the first time you tried).
3) I see some dependencies are accessed via https. You can try to see if this is not a problem, from your windows server.
