App Created in XCode 4 running in Xcode 2.5? - xcode

I've to run some security tests on an App created by an external company for my work. The app they've created will have been done in XCode 4.x, though my work only has access to a Mac capable of running Xcode 2.5 (OS X 10.4.11).
Will the app open and run correctly in XCode 2.5 or will there be compatability issues?
Thanks

It won't be able to open the project.
Since the mac you have access to is limited to OS X 10.4, I asssume it is a PowerPC mac - in this case, you can't use the iOS SDK (if this is an iOS app) anyway as this is limited to Intel machines.

Swift 2.0 for IOS

I have a pc running windows 7 , and when i heard that apple is making swift open source , I started studying about it, but don't know how to start testing apps , is there anything else than xcode to develop apps for ios using swift , I thought it should be available since it became open source.
Xcode is only available for mac users :(
Any thoughts?
Xcode is only compatible with macOS.
The framework to built apps for iOS with Swift is only for macOS.
You can use Swift language with windows using Swift for Windows
Otherwise you must have to have an apple computer

Is it possible to develop for 10.7 and 10.8 using xcode 6?

I am developing OS X app which has GUI as well so designer will be used as well. The app in addition to latest OS X versions must support older platforms such as 10.8 and 10.7 Does xcode 6 support this out of the box if not, what are the steps involved to achieve it ?
Thanks,
Ahmed
I use Xcode 6 to develop an app that targets 10.7 with no problem.
The Deployment Target dropdown lets you select all the way down to 10.4.
In the build settings, set the deployment version (not the SDK version) to 10.7.

How to install ios 8 sdk on xcode 5?

I have OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.5) and Xcode 5.1 already installed on my mac and i can't upgrade my os for now. I need ios 8 sdk in order to publish my app in app store.
How can i install ios 8 sdk on xcode 5?
I have tried copying /Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/DeviceSupport/8.0/ from another computer but it doesn't work - new sdk is not presented in Build Settings > Base SDK combo box.
Sadly that's not possible: the iOS 8 SDK is only available with Xcode 6, for which you need either Mavericks or Yosemite. Furthermore, since February 1st 2015 you can no longer submit apps to the App Store using Xcode 5: https://developer.apple.com/news/?id=10202014a
If you can't upgrade your current system at the moment, look into Parallels Desktop and install a virtual instance of your Mac from the recovery partition. You can then upgrade the VM and install Xcode 6 there, without having to upgrade your current system.
Alternatively, use ShirtPocket's SuperDuper to clone your current hard disk to an external one, then boot from the external drive and upgrade that to Yosemite and Xcode 6.

In app purchase for Mac is only available for Lion version. for iOS devices we can add in app purchase in Leopard OS but for Mac we need to update to MAC OS X Lion

Build app so it can run on different versions of OS X

I have an app that needs to be run on MAC OS X 10.5,10.6,10.7
I'm using XCode 4.02 and iOS SDK 4.3. My build settings are 10.6 MAC OS X, and Deployment target is 10.5.
Is this the right way to do it, or I should use the Mac OS X 10.5 SDK? I can't find it, I have only 10.6.
Right now my application runs on 10.5, but not properly.
If you are a serious apple developer, you should upgrade to Lion. You should also be using the latest SDK, OSX 10.7 that comes bundled with the latest version of XCode 4.2.X (It's free from the MAC APP Store). If you need to have your app run on previous versions of OSX, the correct way to do this is to set the "Deployment Target" (found in the build settings) to 10.5.
XCode/SDK updates are just like any other software update, they contain bug fixes and more importantly security patches, so you should ALWAYS be using the latest versions.
