Have any body integrated ERP with magento like (SAP,Jd edwards) .
IS It Possible?
What things one must know to integrate ERP system with magento?

I can tell from JDE Side.
If you are using Latest Version of JD Edwards then you can use Business Services in JD Edwards these are written into JAVA.
If you are using older versions of JDE which does not support its little complicated. You need to populate records in Table which can use by both JDE and Magento and use scheduler Reports to upload data in JDE (using EDI Module may be).
You need to define strategy how you are going to pass data to and from Magento to JDE and keep them in Synch (Order Data and Inventory data and Advanced Pricing). This step is important because you need to keep in mind that magento and JD Edwards both have there separate Order management, Inventory Management and Advanced Pricing Module.
I have seen lot of failure when it comes to JDE or SAP talking with External Systems which has their own similar module.
JD Edwards is really complex ERP so dont even think about or passing data by yourself. You will need functional Expert who knows about functional aspects and JDE Technical who can handle business Service task and knows how to use JD Edwards Tool set.
Hope this is Helpfull :)

Yes, it's possible. There is many different ways to integrate them. Anyway, you will have to write code on the ERP side or on the Magento side or on both sides together. Magento has an API to create products, orders etc. More of Magento API can be found here: http://www.magentocommerce.com/support/magento_core_api

You should be able to use Application Interface Server and Business Services Server to make inbound REST/SOAP calls and use Real Time Events for outbound calls to integrate JDEdwards EntepriseOne with third party system like magento. review the JDE Introperability guide.

Many vendors such as Microsoft with Sharepoint and Dynamics have made it impossible to access database tables directly in newer versions as they convert to Software as Service (SAS) offerings.
I am working with PTC Windchill and have developed extensive Oracle SQL Layer ETL processing. Is this a future proof practice within the context of this product line? Or in the future will I be required to work through some sort of DAL. If so, is there a recommended practice?
The information available from Windchill for Cloud appear vague and mostly suggesting to me virtualizion at the infrastructure layer, suggesting I would be able to query at the database layer for many years to come. Any confirmation, pointers or feedback would be appreciated.
Windchill offers extensive APIs for data access (and customization) in java. Starting from version 11.0, There are also some soap and rest web service for data access , but not for everything. It is always better to use API, they offer Data Abstraction Layer in a supported way. PTC would recommend that you refer to a consultant for this job.
But if you want to try:
There is a huge documentation about Windchill Customization, you can also create your own web services in java to access the data you want, if standard web services does not suffice. a starting point can be the Windchill help, and the javadoc located in the windchill server in this folder:
WINDCHILL_HOME/codebase/wt/clients/library/api/index.html
there are also some examples:
WINDCHILL_HOME/prog_examples

I recently interviewed for a job where the panel indicated one of their data sources is Oracle PeopleSoft.
I have experience performing analysis and developing directly in Oracle Database using SQL Developer. Can someone please indicate exactly what PeopleSoft is and if I would be able to use SQL Developer to query/develop in this product?
PeopleSoft is an ERP with modules related to Finance, Human Resources etc. The web pages in PeopleSoft are developed using its own PeopleCode language. SQL scripts are run in SQL Developer application based on the module environment.
Think of PeopleSoft as a web application to manage an Enterprise's various functions or business processes like Human Resources (Hire to Fire or Retire), Finance & Supply Chain Management (Order to Cash or Procure to Pay), Enterprise Learning Management.
End Users login into an internet/Intranet portal (html) developed using Peoplesoft proprietary language called PeopleCode.
PeopleSoft standard Internet Architecture looks like this:
End User <-> Web server (Oracle Weblogic / IB Webspehere / Microsoft IIS) <-> Application Server (Bea Tuxedo) <-> DB (Could be Oracle , Microsoft, DB2 etc)
SQL is used while making DB calls within Peoplecode. Or when writing SQR program for reporting or processing.
most of the implementation of peoplesoft use oracle dbms although not mandatory, Peoplesoft allow to directly use some of dbms statement e.g in peoplecode using SQLexec

We are looking for a tool that we can automatically and periodically send email report to our customers on their performance.
Currently we have more than 18K+ customers, hence, licensed tool based on named-users is not applicable.
We need to send a customized to report for each individual customer automatically on selected periods (weekly, bi weekly).
The requirement is:
1- send individual email report to each customer periodically (attachment is accepted)
2- Report needs to look good.
3- We will define the content of all reports globally
4- Paid licenses are accepted (with budget 10k USD)
5- ETL & OLAP will be developed based on needs
6- Adhoc reports capable platform
7- Interactive Dashboard
We have looked into below tools:
1- Tableau
2- Microstrategy
3- pentaho
please suggest us any of these tools support the above requirement, or any other tool for that matter.
Take a look at Holistics BI - Scheduled Email Reporting feature of Holistics BI tool. I think it can do what you want:
It allows sending individual email report to each customer with attachment (Excel/CSV)
Report only needs to defined once
Inbuilt ETL support, but you can use your own
Support for adhoc reports
It also allow you to customize/white-label the email branding to your own company branding
Disclaimer: I work at Holistics
I think DBxtra, with the Schedule Server add-on can do what you want, breaking down your requirements:
1- send individual email report to each customer periodically (attachment is accepted)
-> This will be an Email Merge DBxtra Object job, you set up the merge catalog, set the report and their relationship and you're good to go, reports can be sent with the periodicity you want.
2- Report needs to look good.
-> You can design pixel perfect reports and email them as PDF attachments.
3- We will define the content of all reports globally
-> If the report will be the same for all the customers, and only the data will change, just one report will suffice.
4- Paid licenses are accepted (with budget 10k USD)
-> I think is better if you ask the sales team about licensing as it may change, but depending of what you need, you may go as low as the minimum license and add the Schedule Server on top of it (or get a bundle that already includes it).
5- ETL & OLAP will be developed based on needs
-> DBxtra works with the data directly from your database, so any of this is optional and DBxtra can work on top of that too.
6- Adhoc reports capable platform
-> Not exactly ad-hoc, specially if you want to use the pixel perfect reports, but you can create reports in just 10 minutes by pure drag and drop.
7- Interactive Dashboard
-> Yes, we have it as well (and you can send them by email too although they're not interactive this way).
P.S.: I'm a DBxtra evangelist.
Do you consider solutions that require some basic programming to match exactly your needs (by your IT/dev team, or possibly outsourcing team)?
If answer is positive, take a look to the PivotData microservice: this is .NET Core app that connects directly to SQL database (SQL Server, Mysql, PostgreSql) or MongoDb and provides simple web API for creating pivot tables and pivot charts. PivotData includes web pivot builder for end-users; it is good for offline reports generation because it produces clean HTML reports that may be exported to PDF or included into email body.
Scheduled reports generation and sending them as emails may be easily implemented on any platform; also this feature can be added to the microservice in case of your interest. I'm developer of PivotData microservice and you can any questions about its capabilities.
You can schedule a report and configure it to be sent by an email in
Pentaho platform. The latest Pentaho 7.0 also supports embedding a
report in an email body.
You can look for some samples on the Pentaho webpage. You are
totally free to design a report of your wish.
You can load the data directly from your database and have plenty of
options.
Not sure but probably a community version is enough in your case.
Better contact sales.
Penatho has a ETL tool and an OLAP implementation.

I am given a project which is very small project for small clinic which may be contains of five departments reception or registration and billing, pharmacy, store, laboratory, payroll so far, and as you know most of the operations for this project would be like CRUD operations if we will take first module as example:
for the first department "Registration and billing "
there will be form which contains the details of the patient and then the billing part will contain the entry fee and then if the patient goes to Dr then goes to pharmacy his details should be there in the pharmacy page where the medicine that he is going to buy will be added to his profile and then print the receipt.
My questions now are:
Can apex do this project.
Can I use the bar code to get the product details.
Can I add figure print machine for the employees attendance.
Can I integrate apex with some pages from JSP in case if I have dynamic module needs more control driven mechanisms.
Questions related to apex with 11g XE and cloud:
Can I use apex and 11g xe for free and install them in server in my organization? If yes, so What are the limitations ?
If am going to deploy it on cloud shall they will use Oracle 11g XE or Oracle SE or EE, or it depends on my request ?
If I greed to start apex and I would like to deploy it on cloud is there any requirements , like Do I have to first contact Oracle and ask them to give me the login to apex on cloud and work remotely , Or
Can first develop it here in my machine and then contact oracle and deploy it on cloud .
If apex is not recommended for such projects please tell me before I start , and I will replace it with Java EE6
Can apex do this project.
Yes.
Can I use the bar code to get the product details.
Client-side interactions are notoriously tricky with web applications. It you have a bar code reader which can turn the barcode into JQuery or something then yes. But this will be the hardest part of the project.
Can I add figure print machine for the employees attendance.
Same as 2. Can your FPS do JQuery?
Can I integrate apex with some pages from JSP in case if I have dynamic module needs more control driven mechanisms.
By default Apex operates out of the http server in the database. If you want to include Java Server Pages you need a separate web server and your architecture has just got way more complicated. The good news is that Apex is capable of supporting pretty sophisticated interactions, so the chances that you'll need JSP are slight.
Can I use apex and 11g xe for free and install them in server in my organization?
Yes. For limitations I suggest ion you read the documentation.
If am going to deploy it on cloud shall they will use Oracle 11g XE or Oracle SE or EE, or it depends on my request ?
What cloud? "cloud" is just a generic term of remote hosting. But generally the point about cloud is you get to choose. Also, remember that the Oracle licensing will still apply: when you deploy Oracle SE or EE you will need to pay the Per CPU license, so be careful if you plump for something flexible such as AWS Elastic Cloud.
If I greed to start apex and I would like to deploy it on cloud is there any requirements
Again, what cloud? Oracle don't host apps, so why would you need to contact them? There are a load of companies which do specialise in host Apex apps. Find out more.
(OTN does offer workspaces but purely for evaluating Apex, not for actually running - or even developing - production systems).
"I have several comments on your answer "
Your original questions rather strained the remit of SO, which is a programming site. Your follow-up questions are utterly off-topic, as they are largely business questions and the answer to pretty much all of them is "it depends".
Dependencies include:
budget
available skill set
privacy and data protection compliance
number of users
amount of data
usage profile
complexity of application
on-site facilities
reliability and availability requirements
If you don't know how to analyze these factors and use them to evaluate architectural solutions you really ought to hire somebody who can. This is work which would be measured in hours, if not days, and is way beyond what you can reasonably expect people to do for you on a Q&A site.
Remember: the free advice you get from some random bloke on the internet is worth exactly what you paid for it.

External Data Source for Microsoft CRM [closed]

The question itself is very tricky. But I'll try to break it down into pieces.
Let's say I have external datasources each of them providing my data model. Either a webservice, or database. What matters is that my Entities are defined and exists in separated systems than the Dynamics builtin database.
What I want to do is to use the capabilities of CRM, to handle Business Entities (Provided from the external source), aspects such as security, and UI. Are well managed inside the CRM. So I want to build my system, using this tool, but I want to be able to store and keep the data in my own sources.
In other words, is there a way in CRM (Through the webServices I believe), in which I can provide the entity, and have it managed later inside the CRM.
thanks in advance... I really hope I can find the answer here.
The only option you have is to synchronize the data stored inside Dynamics CRM database with your external sources.
With tools like Scribe from Scribesoft, this scenario is manageable.
About 50% of the functionality of MS CRM is implemented via rather convoluted SQL views/queries/stored functions etc. It is much more then a simple "table per entity type" data store. There is no way to keep live data "somewhere else", so you are stuck with import/export (as recommended in the previous answer).
