I'm developing an epub reader with monocle (https://github.com/joseph/Monocle) which is launched in a uiwebview. My problem is that when I try to copy some text, like what we would do in any other uiwebview, it doesn't seems to do anything... well, I get Webcore NSBeep()! in output view.
any idea or approach?
Webcore NSBeep()! is a error notification, because when you try to copy text from UIWebview the text is not copied into your clipboard and the error notified using a beep (IMHO which is not wise way of notifying errorr by any platform, it would have been any visual indication)
And please note : NSBeep() is part of the ApplicationKit framework which doesn't exist on the iPhone.
I had the same strange issue, irritatingly enough everything worked for quite some time. Then with some changes, this error happened. Reverting the code did not help. After a whole day searching and thinking, I still don't know what caused this, but I know that it wasn't my code!
My theory is that either my git repository was somehow messed up or it was because I edited my project with a beta version of the IDE+SDK. Either way, you should probably look into recreating your webview in InterfaceBuilder. Or recreate your project (or at least partially to confirm that it might be a bug in the project itself). I think/hope that the error will go away then.

I am not aware that I changed (not even saved it differently) anything in the workflow, but the content of all containers changed to "Delegate: Body" (see picture):
The Robot works, nevertheless it is not so confortable because also preview pictures disapear, in Selector is only the window for text and I cannot validate it.
Does anyone have an idea how to turn it back?
Edit: there is result of search for packages:
This is due to the fact that the designers didn't load. It's most likely a bug. Does it happen even if you close and re-open the project?
I am trying to develop QRCode reader application in iPhone.
I am trying to use ZXing SDK. i have successfully run the sample application given by ZXing. But i ma trying to develope new application as per instructions in Readme given by Zxing. but when i am trying to add ZxingWidget in build phases. it going add but it shows like below
I think it will getting problem to me. When i am trying to run application it will give erros like Lexical or Prepocessor issue File not found.
Is am doing any thing wrong when am added to files to application.
Actaully first of all i added ZxingWidget.xcodeproj to my application by drag and drop. But it wont give any alert window would you like copy like similar when we adding images or files to xcode. and next i added cpp and iphone folders to xcode application. and later i added the frameworks as per read me.
Please any one help me in this issue.
Thanks in advance
Pretty hard to help without the real error message. In the Issue Navigator, you can Right Click > Reveal in Log to see the complete error that you can copy and paste.
That said, it sounds a bit like it can't find the headers (though I'm just guessing without the real error message.) If so, double check steps 4 and 5 of the readme.
if you run on real device, the problem will be solved.
I don't know the reason.
But I guess It's related to Build Products Path.
I have a lot of classes on my project, my Source Editor displays the class names, iVar names ect correctly in all the class except one. In one of my classes all the input(mean, code) is displayed in white font and none of the class methods work. For example i have declared properties for NSMutableArray but i can't get the class method objectAtIndex:.. What can i do can anyone help please?
Go to Menue->Product-Clean and clean your project.
Delete your app in simulator, restart xcode,
restart operating system, check your project so you have no errors in your class,
and finally compile it again.
Sometimes i am getting this same behaviour, too. Dont know why.
Is the whole class without syntax highlighting? If no, check at the point where the syntax highlight ends, there could be a syntax error or something different.
Hope it helps.
Restart your Xcode.It may be helpful
There must be an error somewhere in your code. Unfortunately, sometimes xcode cannot show errors properly. As for me, somtimes I can't see errors at all.
If restart don't work for you. Try repairing permissions in Disk Utility (that worked for me).
When trying to restore a version of a document in my document based application, I get an error:
kCGErrorFailure: CGSDisplayID: App trying to enumerate [0 to CGSGetNumberOfDisplays()] instead of using CGSGetDisplayList(). Compensating...
kCGErrorFailure: Set a breakpoint # CGErrorBreakpoint() to catch errors as they are logged.
and the document remains unchanged. Also, when this happens, I get a message as soon as I start editing the document telling me:
The document [...] could not be autosaved. The file has been changed by another application.
I think these two problems may be related.
I don't know what to do or "check" because versions just works without any implementation needed; I'm actually confused, because Apple says that I just need to enable autosave in order to restore/revert using versions. Does anyone know what can be causing that error?
Thanks.
I've ran into all of your issues, causing me much pain.
I've gotten that error message regarding kCGErrorFailure... before as well when browsing versions. I've just ignored it mostly as it seems harmless to me. TextEdit seems to spit out this message as well. (Looks like an Apple bug)
For the "document remains unchanged", check here: Restoring from versions browser on OSX lion not working... ideas? (in short, your code for updating your document's UI is probably not being called for the document that is being reverted) (Looks undocumented to me)
For autosaving issues, check here: http://www.cocoabuilder.com/archive/cocoa/306217-how-to-implement-autosaving-browsing-versions-reverting-to-last-saved-in-lion.html (in short, use the file wrapper methods instead for reading and writing). (Looks like an Apple bug)
As well as returning YES to autosavesInPlace: your document needs to at least call updateChangeCount: passing NSChangeDone whenever it changes, so that it "knows" that there are changes to be autosaved.
I get the infamous "Dialogs must be user-initiated" Security Exception when I try to print some stuff in Silverlight. As you can see, the dialog is as user-initiated as can be:
John Papa couldn't help me much out neither, because I don't have any breakpoint set. Mr MSDN thinks it could also be that I'm just taking too long, but this is a demo application just as simple as can be.
Any ideas? I guess it's a Visual Studio quirk, maybe some extensions interfering, as things seems to work when I launch the application outside of it. I first thought maybe the Code Contracts are interfering with their IL weaving, but they are deactivated for this project.
Update: This is just a simple Silverlight application that runs locally from the file system. When I do "Start debugging", Visual Studio creates a hosting HTML file containing the Silverlight app in the Debug resp. Release folder of the project, launches the Internet Explorer with that HTML file and attaches the debugger to it.
Update 2: I also get the same error when I create a web project to host the Silverlight app and create a virtual directory for it on IIS.
I might also want to add that I don't have problems with printing in other Silverlight projects regardless of their hosting scenarios.
Update 3: I downloaded FireFox and it works, I don't get the error when I debug with it. So it seems to have to do with my IE8. I uploaded the solution:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/10401470/Code/Demos/PrintingDemo.zip
I wonder if anyone can reproduce?
Anyone got an idea to which team I should file a bug report? Silverlight team? IE team? VS Debugger team?
I'm able to reproduce this. You have handled the Click twice, once in XAML another time in code. See your MainPage.xaml
<Button x:Name="PrintButton"
Content="Gotta print 'em!" Margin="8"
Click="PrintButton_Click" />
Don't feel bad about it. I did it last time through a misplaced Print inside a loop.
I've also experienced this strange behaviour. A standard button click event immediately invoking an OpenFileDialog. It would frequently generate the same error when being debugged but would eventually be coaxed in to working when the button is clicked several times.
However when built as a release (or perhaps simply by running the same Xap without a debugger attached to the browser) the problem would go away.
Try to remove
if(SightPaleceListBox.Items.Count > 0)
I had the same problem and found out that the reason was this following line:
cnvsMain.Children.Remove(PrintPagePlaceHolder);
cnvMain is on the page that the user pushed the Print button on (I was trying to remove it from that page in order to add it to the canvas that I was going to print).
My tip: try to comment rows one by one, until you find what row causes the problem. Than try to work around it.
