Activate (or not) jQuery plugin depending on screen width - jquery-plugins

So I got this jQuery plugin to active a sliding menu tab:
$(document).ready(function() {
var closeAll,
$parentItem = $('div#tabWrapper'),
slideAmt = $('div#tabBG').width(),
direction;
$('a#toggle').click(function() {
if (parseInt($parentItem.css('marginLeft'), 10) < 0) {
direction = '+=';
$(this).addClass('expanded');
}
else {
$(this).removeClass('expanded');
direction = '-=';
}
$parentItem.animate({marginLeft: direction + slideAmt}, 400)
return false;
});
$parentItem.mouseleave(function() {
closeAll = setTimeout(function() {
$('a#toggle').removeClass('expanded').parent().animate({marginLeft: -slideAmt}, 300);
return false;
}, 600);
})
.mouseenter(function() {
clearTimeout(closeAll);
}) });
But I only want this animation to work on a higher screen width than 1024px.
How would make this happen?
Thanks all!

You can get the screen resolution using
screen.height;
screen.width;
Then do what you want to do depending on these values

react magnetic snap scroll with react-scroll

ive got a component where i try to make some sort of magnetic snap scroll. i know the css usual css way of snap-y, and setting snap behavior to smooth, but the snap is too fast. so i tried on my own to create a component where if the app detects a scroll down or up with the function, and a scroll below
const [scrollDir, setScrollDir] = useState("");
const [index, setIndex] = useState("0")
useEffect(() => {
const threshold = 0;
let lastScrollY = window.pageYOffset;
let ticking = false;
const updateScrollDir = () => {
const scrollY = window.pageYOffset;
if (Math.abs(scrollY - lastScrollY) < threshold) {
ticking = false;
return;
}
if(scrollY>lastScrollY){
// setScrollDir("scrolling down")
scroller.scrollTo('about',{
duration: 1000,
delay: 100,
smooth: 'linear',
})
}
// setScrollDir(scrollY > lastScrollY ? "scrolling down" : "scrolling up");
lastScrollY = scrollY > 0 ? scrollY : 0;
ticking = false;
};
const onScroll = () => {
if (!ticking) {
window.requestAnimationFrame(updateScrollDir);
ticking = true;
}
};
window.addEventListener("scroll", onScroll);
console.log(scrollDir);
return () => window.removeEventListener("scroll", onScroll);
}, [scrollDir]);
the magnetic scroll doesnt work, the page goes all jumpy. i could add a global css to make smooth scrolling, but that defeats the purpose of giving easein animation of scrolling. is there a way to work around this?

How do I make my own window frame in egui (eframe) Rust

Here is how I start my app and remove the window frame:
let app = RustClicker::default();
let mut native_options = eframe::NativeOptions::default();
native_options.decorated = false; // I remove window frame here
eframe::run_native(Box::new(app), native_options);
I made my own top-panel like this:
egui::TopBottomPanel::top("decoration").show(ctx, |ui| {
egui::menu::bar(ui, |ui| {
ui.with_layout(egui::Layout::left_to_right(), |ui| {
ui.label("🖱");
});
ui.with_layout(egui::Layout::right_to_left(), |ui| {
if ui.button("🗙").clicked() {
frame.quit();
}
let change_theme = ui.button("🎨");
if change_theme.clicked() {
if self.dark_theme {
self.dark_theme = false;
}
else {
self.dark_theme = true;
}
}
});
});
});
But I can't move it with holding moue button on, TopPanel is there anyway to fix this?
Found an example https://github.com/emilk/egui/tree/master/examples/custom_window_frame this works and the corners are also rounded

jqgrid top header not moving with left scroll , when used mCustomScrol(v3.1.5)

I am trying to use mCustomScrollbar on jqgrid( 4.9.2). The design of the scrollbar is getting changed but when scrolling horizontally the top headers does not move as they do normally.
The example I am trying to work on is of collapsable grid.
and for the mCustomScroll
$(".ui-jqgrid-bdiv").mCustomScrollbar({
    axis:"yx",
});
Is it not possible at all to use any custom scroll bar on jqgrid ?
I had made some customized changes to jqgr so migrating to the other version will be a tough task, so Instead, I made the changes in the mcustomscrollbar and posting the answer so if any one else come across the same problem it will be beneficial.
so there is a methods _tweetTo, which is called for the container on which the scrollbar is assigned by the initializing as
$(".ui-jqgrid-bdiv").mCustomScrollbar({
    axis:"yx",
});
now just after the method call _tweenTo(line# 2131 for V:3.1.5) insert the following code
if ($(".ui-jqgrid-hdiv").length > 0) {
$(".ui-jqgrid-view").css("overflow", "hidden");
$(".ui-jqgrid-hdiv").css("width", $("#grid1").width() + "px"); // grid1 is the id of your gridcontainer/table
_tweenTo($(".ui-jqgrid-hdiv")[0], property, Math.round(scrollTo[0]), dur[0], options.scrollEasing, options.overwrite, {
onStart: function () {
if (options.callbacks && options.onStart && !d.tweenRunning) {
/* callbacks: onScrollStart */
if (_cb("onScrollStart")) { _mcs(); o.callbacks.onScrollStart.call(el[0]); }
d.tweenRunning = true;
_onDragClasses(mCSB_dragger);
d.cbOffsets = _cbOffsets();
}
}, onUpdate: function () {
if (options.callbacks && options.onUpdate) {
/* callbacks: whileScrolling */
if (_cb("whileScrolling")) { _mcs(); o.callbacks.whileScrolling.call(el[0]); }
}
}, onComplete: function () {
if (options.callbacks && options.onComplete) {
if (o.axis === "yx") { clearTimeout(mCSB_container[0].onCompleteTimeout); }
var t = mCSB_container[0].idleTimer || 0;
mCSB_container[0].onCompleteTimeout = setTimeout(function () {
/* callbacks: onScroll, onTotalScroll, onTotalScrollBack */
if (_cb("onScroll")) { _mcs(); o.callbacks.onScroll.call(el[0]); }
if (_cb("onTotalScroll") && scrollTo[1] >= limit[1] - totalScrollOffset && d.cbOffsets[0]) { _mcs(); o.callbacks.onTotalScroll.call(el[0]); }
if (_cb("onTotalScrollBack") && scrollTo[1] <= totalScrollBackOffset && d.cbOffsets[1]) { _mcs(); o.callbacks.onTotalScrollBack.call(el[0]); }
d.tweenRunning = false;
mCSB_container[0].idleTimer = 0;
_onDragClasses(mCSB_dragger, "hide");
}, t);
}
}
});
}
and in the method definition of _tweenTo there is another method _tween
update that method as
function _tween() {
// added condition so the top headers remains fixed
if (el.classList.contains("ui-jqgrid-hdiv") && prop == "top") {
return;
}
//ends here
if (duration > 0) {
tobj.currVal = _ease(tobj.time, from, diff, duration, easing);
elStyle[prop] = Math.round(tobj.currVal) + "px";
} else {
elStyle[prop] = to + "px";
}
onUpdate.call();
}
and the scrollbar is up and running.. !!

Performance issue when zooming (Leaflet 0.7.3)

I'm facing a performance problem with Leaflet (version 0.7.3). I'm working with an OSM map that I use to display a bunch of CircleMarkers linked by decorated Polylines (with arrow pattern every 25px). Loading take a little time but the main problem is that when I zoom the map I start facing severe lag (from the zoom level 16) and, beyond a certain limit (say 18 most of the time), browser just freeze and eventually crash (tested with chrome and firefox). I tried with a bunch of 1,000 linked markers, then I dropped to a set of around 100, but still the same concern... Of course, with 10 markers or less I don't have any problem.
Did you already face a similar trouble? How can I optimize Leaflet performances so that I can use an accurate zoom (beyond level 16) with more than 100 linked CircleMarkers ? I also wonder why performances are dropping so badly when zooming, while marker amount stay the same...
Thank you in advance for your answers,
Lenalys.
Cannot get the PolylineDecorator plugin to work on jsfiddle.

Have you gauged performance in canvas mode?
Use L_PREFER_CANVAS = true before initializing your leaflet map container.Might be able to help you possibly.

Highslide, Auto follow scroll

I was looking for a fix/solution for that and found this topic:
http://highslide.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3030
function fixElement(el) {
var stl = el.style;
stl.position = 'fixed';
stl.top = (parseInt(stl.top) - hs.page.scrollTop) +'px';
stl.left = (parseInt(stl.left) - hs.page.scrollLeft) +'px';
}
function unfixElement(el) {
var stl = el.style;
stl.position = 'absolute';
stl.top = (parseInt(stl.top) + hs.page.scrollTop) +'px';
stl.left = (parseInt(stl.left) + hs.page.scrollLeft) +'px';
}
if (!hs.ie || hs.ieVersion() > 6) {
hs.Expander.prototype.onAfterExpand = function() {
fixElement (this.wrapper);
if (this.outline) fixElement(this.outline.table);
};
hs.Expander.prototype.onBeforeClose = function() {
unfixElement (this.wrapper);
if (this.outline) unfixElement(this.outline.table);
};
}
Got a small hack on the forum topic, but the hack does not work on any Internet Explorer that I tried (IE7, IE8 and IE9).
Does anyone has a "fix" on the hack to make it work on IE?
I think it's something related on this part of the code, this condition:
if (!hs.ie || hs.ieVersion() > 6)
I removed and it worked, but maybe this code could be changed.
Thank you.
The below code is what you need. Live demo: http://www.highslide.com/studies/position-fixed.html
Note: requires highslide-full.js
// Highslide fixed popup mod. Requires the "Events" component.
if (!hs.ie || hs.uaVersion > 6) hs.extend ( hs.Expander.prototype, {
fix: function(on) {
var sign = on ? -1 : 1,
stl = this.wrapper.style;
if (!on) hs.getPageSize(); // recalculate scroll positions
hs.setStyles (this.wrapper, {
position: on ? 'fixed' : 'absolute',
zoom: 1, // IE7 hasLayout bug,
left: (parseInt(stl.left) + sign * hs.page.scrollLeft) +'px',
top: (parseInt(stl.top) + sign * hs.page.scrollTop) +'px'
});
if (this.outline) {
stl = this.outline.table.style;
hs.setStyles (this.outline.table, {
position: on ? 'fixed' : 'absolute',
zoom: 1, // IE7 hasLayout bug,
left: (parseInt(stl.left) + sign * hs.page.scrollLeft) +'px',
top: (parseInt(stl.top) + sign * hs.page.scrollTop) +'px'
});
}
this.fixed = on; // flag for use on dragging
},
onAfterExpand: function() {
this.fix(true); // fix the popup to viewport coordinates
},
onBeforeClose: function() {
this.fix(false); // unfix to get the animation right
},
onDrop: function() {
this.fix(true); // fix it again after dragging
},
onDrag: function(sender, args) {
//if (this.fixed) { // only unfix it on the first drag event
this.fix(true);
//}
}
});
