Alfresco 3.4 Directory Tree View - user-interface

I'm building a custom dialog in Alfresco 3.4. I'd like to include a tree view as a UI control similar to the one in the Copy/Move dialog in the Document Library. Is there a call in Alfresco or an easy way to include this to drive my dialog, or is this going to be a completely custom piece?

You don't have to write your custom tree view as far as I know. But including the one that Share uses is not that easy as well, unless you have experience with webscripts, building custom pages, templates...

Combine Sphinx documentation from several Projects

In our team we have several Projects, each separately documented with Sphinx.
We want to have a central documentation page, which includes all of our projects.
Of course we could build a HTML page with links to the different documentations.
Is there a way to combine the documentations with Sphinx itself?
Maybe with a separate Documentation project, which somehow includes the documentation from the other projects?
You could try intersphinx to create links between existing documentations. This works like Wikipedia links to other Wikis in the Wikimedia universe.
An alternative is to checkout all documentation directories into a new repository. You might need to create new toctrees because it either doesn't fit into the overall structure or the nesting gets to deep. Therefore you could provide alternative index files by changing the index file name to e.g. master.rst.
An individual documentation is build by using the original index.rst but if it's used in the master documentation, only master.rst files will be considered as toctrees.

How to use Subversion with HelpNDoc

I am writing a documentation for a project that involves multiple developers. We use Subversion (SVN) to work on our code base.
I wrote the first draft of the documentation document using HelpNDoc, which I like for the nice tree-view and easy of use; the problem is that there is a single file, so I don't know how to use SVN to allow other developers to contribute to the documentation and update it.
Do you know if it's possible? If not, can you advice a nice software, easy to use, with a tree-view of the documentation that can be used with SVN or makes it possible for multiple users to update it? We use Windows.
HelpNDoc projects are binary files based on the SQLite open source database engine. The advantage is that the whole documentation stored in a single file so it can easily be copied, moved, shared, backed-up...
However one drawback is that it has to be checked-in as binary content in any version control system including Subversion: diff and merge are not possible on those files.
One possible solution would be to use external documents in HelpNDoc's library: each user works on her own document (which can be a Word document, and HTML web-page...) and a master HelpNDoc project is created to include those documents at generation time. Amount of files doesn't matter, real format (text/* or binary) - does. If SVN|any VCS can merge two HelpNDoc files with diverged history (just try it by hand), you'll be happy
I once used Helpinator for software documentation, it's pretty close to HelpnDoc but it's storage format is more suitable for version control.

Adding syntax highlighter to JamWiki-1.2

The tutorial http://sinnerinc22.blogspot.de/2010/07/adding-syntax-highlighter-to-jamwiki.html describes how to enable syntax highlighting in JAMWiki.
My problem is that in the recent version of JAMWiki v1.2 the two files to be modified WEB-INF/jsp/top.jsp and WEB-INF/jsp/close-document.jsp do not exist any longer...
There is a third-party syntax highlighting tag extension available with JAMWiki 1.2 link that may work for you
I have added SHJS to my installation just following SHJS instructions rather than JAMWiki instructions. Simply edit JAMWiki JSP pages to add content as documented here. To see how does it work, look into the source code of this HTML document.
You even do not need to compile anything after you edit JSP, the server does this for you automatically.
Following up on Audrius's answer, here's exactly what you need to modify.
./jamwiki.war/WEB-INF/jsp/topic.jsp Modify it to look like this
Download the SHJS zip and copy all of the individual files from ./css/, ./lang/, ./sh_main.js, and ./sh_style.css from the zip to JamWiki.war/shjs/. (This will flatten the directory structure so everything is now in ./shjs/. Flattening the structure is optional but it makes for easier paths when referencing them in the jsp.)
You can modify the .war with 7zip or dig into your web app container file system and place the JSP and shjs folder directly.
Redeploy or refresh as needed depending on your preferred edit method.

Why do vcxproj.filters files exist?

Shouldn't vcxproj.filters be embedded in the .vcxproj? As it stands I have to check this in to source control so others can see the folder structuring in the solution.
According to what Dan Moseley says in this question, they also wanted to separate the tree structure from the build specific information because changing the tree structure would cause an update to be made to the project file, and that in turn would trigger a rebuild. By moving the logical view of the project to a separate file this is avoided.
They were embedded in fact, in previous versions of Visual Studio. The extension was still .vcproj and the filters were stored inside the project file. However, as of 2010 it was decided to pull the .filter information into a separate file.
It is really up to the design teams now to decide whether to add this source control or not. If you want all the developers to have the same structure (for reasons of communication) it might be wise to check them in. If you want to allow each developer to use their own logical view, then don't.
The vcxproj file contains the commands for the msbuild environment. So it contains the files that should be built and the arguments for the compiler how to build/link etc. the source files.
Due to this, the development team decided that the 'view' of the files in the solution explorer should not be contained in the msbuild file, but in another file.
So this was done to separate the build settings from the view you have.

Visual Studio Solution Shared Data Source for Report Projects?

Simple question... I have a VS 2005 solution that encompasses several reporting services projects. Currently, each project has it's own shared data source making changing the database target very tedious.
Is there a way to share the data source across the entire solution (i.e. all the projects in the solution will use the data source defined in one place?).
I thought I could create a project that just held one data source item and then make all of the other projects dependent upon that one, however, the shared date source in the new project does not appear in the other projects for me to select.
Help! I have looked around the web for info, but not much available. There must be a simple solution to this.

I am sorry I somehow overlooked your question when I posted the same.
Nonetheless, a technique I am using is described in an answer to it. It feels a little shady and underhanded but seems to be working so far:
Make a new report project to hold your shared data source. I called mine Data Source.
Copy your shared data source (let's pretend it's called My Shared Data Source) to that new project.
If necessary, copy My Shared Data Source to each actual report project and link things up the way you want. But probably you're already set up like this.
Close Visual Studio to make sure all changes are saved in the filesystem and to make sure it doesn't end up clobbering some of our next, "backstage" edits.
In plain old Windows Explorer (or whatever), delete the My Shared Data Source.rds file from every project folder except Data Source's.
Using a text editor or XML-file editor, edit each project's .rptproj file to change the text of the Project.DataSources.ProjectItem.FullPath element from My Shared Data Source.rds to ..\Data Source\My Shared Data Source.rds.
Now each project still has its own reference to a data source, but all those references happen point to the same underlying physical file, and thus they all share one data source specification.
According to this post by Paul Turley, it appears as if this is not possible. You'll have to copy the data source into each project. The good news is that if you deploy them to the same location, only one data source should exist on the server.
This may not be what you're thinking, but when I'm writing an app consisting of several distinct applicaitons accessing the same data I usually take one of two approaches.
write all of my data access logic into a Class Library project and reference it from the other projects.
Write my data access logic into a Web Service library and add a web reference.
I usually go for option 2 if the data I am accessing is likely to be used in future development, such as accessing company-wide customer lists, etc.
