I'm trying to debug on my htc desire. When I connect my phone through USB the phone starts charging as normal but it won't recognize that it is connected to the pc.
Normally I can find the usb debugging mode in my notification bar for example and it's not there and I don't event get the option to mount as storage media etc.
might sound stupid but try a different usb cable .. (I got one that can only charge my htc desire)
and check to see if it happens on another computer.. (also.. happen to me before)
If you're totally certain that the phone is in Development Mode (Settings --> Applications --> Development --> USB Debugging) then I'd reinstall the drivers for the phone. Sounds stupid, I know, but it actually worked for me when I couldn't debug on my Galaxy.
Rebooting the device is also highly recommended.

My laptop used to come with windows 10, but then I decided to install ubuntu on it instead. Now I would like to install windows 10. Is there way to get windows 10 back?
First you will need a bootable USB - a USB flash drive that has at least 16GB of space (there are free programs that you will find available on internet to make the USB bootable), download Windows 10 ISO file and add to the USB.
Alter the BIOS sequence on your PC so your USB device is first. In most instances, the BIOS will usually not be automatically set to your device. If you skip this step, your computer will start regularly from your hard drive instead of getting boot information from your USB device, then follow the steps to install the windows OS.

I have Micromax Canvas A1 (android one) with Kitkat 4.4.4 stock android OS.
Mine is an unrooted device & I want to use PC internet for downloading / surfing on my android device.
Going by internet posts and videos they say that one should have 'USB Internet' option available in Wireless & networks menu. But I cant find it on my phone.
Has this 'USB Internet' feature been taken out in kitkat ?
I dont want to root my device yet. Can you please tell me how to reverse tether using USB ?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks :)
It has not been taken out but in order to access it you must first access your developer options. This can vary from phone but if you Google "access developer options" and your phone make and model. Then you should get an explanation. From there you will want to enable developer options and then USB debugging. Once enabled, go to your wifi & networks option. Hit more, then hit tethering & portable hotspot. Then you should see USB tethering and you should be able to activate it. Best of luck!

How could I switch off primary Macbook screen?
I'm working with 2 External via Thunderbolt and HDMI on new Retina Macbook.
I want to switch off retina display and work just with external monitors without closing the cover of my laptop. Is there any setup option for that? I didn't find it under Preferences.
It seems to be possible to sleep display so by I/O Kit:

But I am not sure whether it can control single monitors.
you are searching for the 'clamshell' mode. the only way i get this to work is to wake my mac with external keyboard while the lid stays closed

This worked like a charm on my old macbook (late 2008) with opening the lid again and the screen stays off until 'force' detecting it...
however, my retina display also wakes when in clamshell and then being opened.
There is a reason to this: Heat.
Aluminium macbooks can get really hot, especially since the vents are in the back and blowing the heat up in front of the opened display. Your retina macbook shuts itself down at about 110°C to 130°C, but please be careful.

I know that iOS7 device act as an iBeacon. how can I could turn my iMac into an iBeacon for testing purposes. Thanks in advance!
We had a lot of success using a Bluetooth LE dongle (cost $12) and a virtual machine. Was super fast to install and set up and very accurate - perfect 'test bed'. Got a dongle at a local store - the hardest part of this is actually going out and buying one!

I find myself most of the time needing to copy a piece of text or even a link from my mobile and paste later (when I get out of the bathroom) on my PC.
Do you have the same problem? What are you using to solve this?
