reactive extension for f# - visual-studio

I am trying to call the rx 2.0 frameworok from fsharp.
I saw there is a project FSharp.Reactive which tries to map rx2.0 to FSharp.
Something very strange happens when I try to use it:
There is an error shown in the IDE, which can be reproduced in the following code:
module FSharp.Reactive2
open System
open System.Reactive
open System.Reactive.Linq
open System.Reactive.Concurrency
type IObservable<'a> with
// Subscribes to the Observable with just a next-function.
member this.Subscribe(onNext:'a -> unit) =
let toto = (Action<_> onNext)
this.Subscribe(toto)
internal error : the list had different lengths. Parameter name xs2
But when I compile it, it produces a dll, and the error goes away. If I modify the code file again, the error reappears.
This happens in other projects using the System.Reactive dll.
Am I doing something wrong // is there anything to deal with it // is that a bug ?

Internal errors indicate compiler bugs. Try sending an email to fsbugs#microsoft.com.

OperationCanceledException: Read was canceled on underlying PipeReader

am getting this type of error while moving to NET 6.0
Grpc.Core.RpcException : Status(StatusCode="Unknown", Detail="Exception was thrown by handler. OperationCanceledException: Read was canceled on underlying PipeReader.")
package: Google.Protobuf v (3.21.12)
NET 6.0
I tried different solution while downgrading the version of the package
but still facing the same issue
Message SOMETHING doesn't provide the generated method that enables WriteContext-based serialization. You might need to regenerate the generated protobuf code.
This comes from here
The problem here is that you're using (significantly) older generated code which does not support the pipe APIs; you should regenerate the code from the .proto, after updating protoc or Grpc.Tools or whatever mechanism you've used to turn the .proto schema into C#. This must include any nested message types; the SOMETHING in the above message tells you about any that are still needed.

Visual Studio 2019 - Connected Service Reference - OpenAPI is generating duplicate types

I am trying to generate an OpenApi service reference in Visual Studio 2019. .Net 5.0.
Right clicking project >Add>Connected Services>+ Service References
I am using NetDocs api "https://api.vault.netvoyage.com/v2/swagger/docs/v2".
Result: I get generated c# client code but it is duplicating the types with the errors below.
Severity Code Description Project File Line Suppression State
Error CS0102 The type 'v2Client' already contains a definition for '_settings' OpenAPITest C:\Users\dryfus\source\repos\OpenAPITest\obj\v2Client.cs 4941 Active
Error CS0579 Duplicate 'System.CodeDom.Compiler.GeneratedCode' attribute OpenAPITest C:\Users\dryfus\source\repos\OpenAPITest\obj\v2Client.cs 4936 Active
Error CS0102 The type 'v2Client' already contains a definition for '_baseUrl' OpenAPITest C:\Users\dryfus\source\repos\OpenAPITest\obj\v2Client.cs 4939 Active
Error CS0102 The type 'v2Client' already contains a definition for '_httpClient' OpenAPITest C:\Users\dryfus\source\repos\OpenAPITest\obj\v2Client.cs 4940 Active
Is there a way I can get this to work with the connector way without the duplicates? Or even cli? Any suggestions on why it is creating the duplicates?
I had the same issue, it turns out the code generation didn't like enpoints with an underscore in its operationId. Lucky for me, the service I was consuming was also part of our code, so I could just go to the Swagger configuration in the API side and change the CustomOperationIds setting.
I downloaded and use NSwagStudio to generate the client code and did not have the same issue that the Visual Studio connector had when generating the code.
https://github.com/RicoSuter/NSwag/wiki/NSwagStudio
It is actually caused by this option
OperationGenerationMode:MultipleClientsFromOperationId
MultipleClientsFromOperationId : Multiple clients from the Swagger operation ID in the form '{controller}_{action}'
However, if your classname is set as a static name, it will cause an error like you have.
The correct solution should be change the classname to something like
ClassName="{controller}ServiceClient"
So it will generate different classes.

Actionscript debug() method

I'm am trying to run a debug() method but I get the following error when I try to compile the code
Call to a possibly undefined method debug. debug("...");
I assume all I need to do is add an import ... where ... has the debug method defined. However I have tried looking for it and cannot find it.
I can't find what file to import. This is a large project that I got handed down to me to implement small features. I can add debug("msg") into some files with issue but others give me the error msg aboe.
I can't see trace("...") in the debug log.
Since there is no debug function this was obviously a custom function someone wrote. Nobody here can tell you where to find the file to import, you'll need to get more information from whoever you inherited the files from.
Another option is to just comment out the debug calls since based on the name they probably aren't doing anything but giving debugging information which most likely isn't required for the end goal of the program.

Server Error with the griffin.mvccontrib package in asp.net

In order to be able to translate my data annotations in my model with a resource file, I saw that many people recommend the solution offered by jgauffin.
However, when I follow the localization tutorial my project cannot launch.
The problematic code is this one, which is supposed to go in the Global.asax.cs file:
ModelValidatorProviders.Providers.Add(
new LocalizedModelValidatorProvider(stringProvider)
);
It says that the LocalizedModelValidatorProvider constructor does not take any arguments, which is also shown by other tutorials.
But when I change the line like this:
ModelValidatorProviders.Providers.Add(
new LocalizedModelValidatorProvider()
);
I get the following error in the browser:
Attempted to access an element as a type incompatible with the array.
Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.
Exception Details: System.ArrayTypeMismatchException: Attempted to access an element as a type incompatible with the array.
The griffin.mvccontrib packages were installed with NuGet under Visual Studio 2012. Any idea what I am doing wrong ?
You might find this link helpful
Here is how I did the registration in the above link:
ResourceStringProvider myResouceFile = new ResourceStringProvider(ModelsResources.ResourceManager);
//ModelsResources is my resource file generated class
GriffinStringsProvider griffinStringsProvider = new GriffinStringsProvider(myResouceFile);
ValidationMessageProviders.Clear();
ValidationMessageProviders.Add(griffinStringsProvider);
ModelMetadataProviders.Current = new LocalizedModelMetadataProvider(myResouceFile);
ModelValidatorProviders.Providers.Clear();
ModelValidatorProviders.Providers.Add(new LocalizedModelValidatorProvider());
Make sure you are including the right assemblies
using System.Resources;
using Griffin.MvcContrib.Localization;
using Griffin.MvcContrib.Localization.ValidationMessages;
Also the assembly for your Resource file.

Is there a way to add global error handler in a visual basic 6.0 application?

VB 6.0 does not have any global handler.To catch runtime errors,we need to add a handler in each method where we feel an error can occur.But, still some places might be left out.So,we end up getting runtime errors.Adding error handler in all the methods of an application,the only way?
No there is no way to add a global error handler in VB6. However, you do not need to add an error handler in every method. You only really need to add an error handler in every event handler. E.g. Every click event,load event, etc
While errors do propogate upwards, VB6 has no way to do a stack trace, so you never know which method raised the error. Unfortunately, if you need this information, you have to add a handler to each method just to log where you were.
Also: errors do propagate upwards: if method X calls methods Y and Z, a single error handler in method X will cover all three methods.
I discovered this tool yesterday:
http://www.everythingaccess.com/simplyvba-global-error-handler.htm
It is a commercial product that enables global error handling in VB6 and VBA applications.
It has its cost but does its job perfectly. I have seen other tools (free though) helping in this VB6 mangle, but none can cover a true real global error handling like "SimplyVB6 Global Error Handler for VB6" does.
With "SimplyVB6 Global Error Handler for VB6", there is no need to change any line of existing code, and no need to number the lines of code (via a plug-in or something).
Just enable Global error handling (one line of code in the main module) and you are all set.
"SimplyVB6 Global Error Handler for VB6":
can show the call stack with real module and function names, as well as display the source code line.
Works only with P-Code compiled VB6 programs.
can work via early or late binding (no DLL Hell).
I am not in any way affiliated to www.everythingaccess.com, just happy to have found it yesterday afternoon, was kind of looking at this problem again as one of my customers was having bugs in our VB6 application. I was able to test the tool yesterday afternoon, exchanging emails with the www.everythingaccess.com support and getting the evaluation product per mail.
Their web side does not allow yet to download the evaluation version of the VB6 product, you have to email them but they are answering in less than an hour.
on error resume next - is kinda close but its been a while.
you might want to look up any caveats
