magento REST/OAuth in 1.7 - magento

I am in magento 1.6.2 and working on setting up something to show/hide cms page(s) based on customer status.
Similar to the way WordPress has many "paywall/membership" plugins.
So the user subscribes (currently looking at using AW SARP plug-in for that part) --> then magento grants access to the CMS page,
i.e.
Show/Hide Plug-In
Show/Hide Video Program links in Customer Account
A Video Program is a Product on a CMS Page.
Customer buys (or subscribes to) a Video Program
-->a listener looks for customer ID
-->customer ID is found and shows magento what product(s) (one or more products) customer has paid for (and/or is currently subscribed to)
-->magento displays an array in customer account on a tab "My Purchased Videos" that includes links to CMS pages for each Video Program
-->once subscription expires, customer can not access CMS pages for each Video Program.
So, am I right that 1.7 allows customer management /access to be done in a totally different way using REST/OAuth or is REST/OAuth is just one more admin thing?

As far as I understand, the Magento REST API is primarily designed for integrating 3rd party applications, so it's "just" one more admin thing.

I have a Mobile APP that is developed in Flutter. I want to add a section in my app called "shop". In that section I am planning to list the items from Ebay with my affiliate code, so that if anyone buy any products there I get a small amount of commission.
My App backend is written in Php Laravel. I don't have too much Idea about Ebay API. can you please suggest me the right path? the API that will give me the list of items with a specific category and items buy link should be included with my affiliate code. So that I can list those items on my shop section.

Wholesaler uses Magento SOAP API v2 - does this mean I'm restricted to using Magento?

I've recently got in contact with a wholesaler who stocks products matching my site.
They offer an API to process orders, and automatically check their stock - which is appealing to me as it would save me time.
They have provided me PHP code, but the references are to Magentos SOAP API v2.
Is it possible to use Shopify instead of Magento, or am I stuck using Magento for my site?
Thanks for your time

Magento marketplace with vendor payment

I'm using marketplace extension from magentoconnect in my store. This extension is really good and works exactly what i needed it to do but there is 1 particular requirement I need which it doesn't provide.
For vendors, I want payments of each product sale to go directly to vendor's account ( through their credit card etc which they need to add before their product becomes visible ) and commission amount ( some percentage which is set by marketplace through admin panel ) to go to site owner's account. I know there is paypal adaptive payment add-on available with this extension but I don't want to use paypal due to some reasons.
I have tried to create my own module which will gather vendor's payment method after their login and will verify it if their credentials are working or not. But i'm confused as to which approach should i use to get their order payment to go directly in vendor's account and commission in site owner's account right away.
Also, i want to use authorize.net to charge clients as stripe does not support a lot of countries.
Any help in right direction is very much appreciated. I need a solution as to how i can implement it. I can customize or create my own module if needed be for this particular case, but i need to know which is a better approach or what will be close to magento way of doing stuff.
Sorry for my bad english.
Thanks In Advance

Hi Regarding Paypal adaptive payment this thread will help https://www.paypal-community.com/t5/About-Payments/Adaptive-Payments-for-Magento-marketplace/td-p/968101
as authorize.net does not provide marketplace api like stripe or paypal provides so it wouldnt be possible in this way .
PS - we are not self promoting our plugin or product , as user asked the questions specifically about our product that why i have added extension link with images and screenshot

Google Ecommerce Tracking for Magento

I am having some difficulty in getting google's eCommerce tracking working consistently for Magento. I have set the UA code in the google api section of the admin and eCommerce tracking is switched on. When I go to the success page the code is there. Some orders are being sent but not all. I have installed google chromes analytics tester and the beacon is being sent. Take yesterdays orders for example, 1 from sagepay is in analytics however another sagepay order is not which rules out payment gateway. I have re-set the permissions on the success page and tidied up a couple of warnings in the console but nothing is working i'm pretty stumped.
I have also installed Jiraffe real-time analytics and am having the same problem with that tracking orders, it didn't track a single order yesterday but is tracking cart data fine.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks
First of all not every user who uses payment gateway is comming back to your success page as some of them are just leaving the transaction at thank you page on third party services - then you won't see such transaction in GA. Second of all not every user let you to track him (adblock is preventing its users to be tracked). As for now please just reply if you are sure that users got back to Magento's success page.To get a much better overview of yours customer behaviour I would recommend you to install this extension Fooman Google Analytics Plus and set up proper funnels (you'll find brief instruction at extensions page)
I would suggest that you check the formating of data passed to GA :
prices should be formated as "1200000.00" : no separator for thousands, dot as decimal separator, no currency
text values should be escaped properly quotes contained in them: 'That\s it'
The Fooman extension is a good start since the basic GA implementation in Magento is a shame of non sense, while not perfect.
Google tracking in Magento :
Open the Magento Admin area and navigate to System->Configuration->Sales->Google API.
Expand the Google Analytics section.
Pick the Yes option from the Enable drop-down menu. Enter the Google Analytics account number in the Account number field. Click on the Save Config button.
Thanks..!!

How to provide gift card code automatically to user who likes product on the magento based ecommerce site

Is there any way to link face-book like feature with the magento gift card code. Like if any user/visitor likes any product on the site then store administrator want to sent gift code automatically to that user. This should happen automatically without involvement of any manual process.
Thanks,
Rather than sending a gift card code, you should generate a one time use coupon code and send them that.
In terms of tracking the Facebook like, you can use Facebook's FB.Event.subscribe method which is a part of their JavaScript SDK. A simple snippet will allow you to listen for a "like" event, the SDK will then provide you with a callback containing the URL liked (the current page). You can pretty much do whatever you want from there.
Everything you need should be here: Facebook JS SDK
