How to run mobile joomla on desktop browser? - joomla

I need to see the output by mobile joomla plugin in my regular browser, to be able to style and tweak things easily.
In older versions of mobile joomla ther was an option ('Mobile Always') that would output mobile views all the time. But I can't find it current version (1.0.3)

You can always install User Agent Switcher for Firefox. It gives you the ability to change to a mobile user agent and also a few others things such as IE6 and IE7. You can also add others. Hope this helps. Regards.

What is causing my website converted to APK pages to stick when scrolling?

I converted my website to an APK and it installs fine - the problem is that when trying to scroll up or down - the page sticks and the page refreshes to a page not available - the live site works perfect.
Try to use momentum scrolling. I don't know exactly what can cause your issue, but
Android 3+ and iOS 5+ implemented a new property called overflow-scrolling that enables momentum scrolling. And it works beautifully.

Hope that helps.
I was using a service from GoNative that packages mobile web sites into APKS - kind of a wrapper to allow mobile sites to function like apps. One of the configuration options was to use "web pool" services that cached pages to allow for faster processing - I deleted that feature and the site/app works fine.

Wrapper around web-app under Windows

I have an application with web interface. Unfortunately, it has all disadvantages of being a web page:
It doesn't have a standalone window, so users cannot manage it via the taskbar.
Users see the address line with something like 'http://localhost:8080' that is not a good idea for home users.
If users click on a tray icon, there is no way to activate the tab in a browser, which contain the application interface.
So, it would be nice to have a wrapper application with a browser within.
In case of IE I know it's possible to create a window with Trident ActiveX component. But what if it's Windows XP with IE6 but installed latest Chrome? I'd like to prefer Chrome since it supports a lot more features which the user will never see.
So, is there a way to wrap a page into Chrome/Firefox and make it look like a standalone application, if one of them is presented in the user's system? (The application shouldn't install anything large, so Chromium build is not an option).
P.S. I'm not interested in supporting other platforms than Windows.
Regards,
Take a look at Chrome Apps.
I hope helps you.

Can I disable modules with mobile detection in Joomla?

I am using Joomla 3.3.6 and I have a mobile responsive site. But certain modules I'm using on the site I would like to either disable completely or changed with the site is being viewed with a mobile browser. Does anyone know any scripts or extension I can use with Joomla to do this?
I searched for like 5 seconds and I found this post Joomla 3 hide module just for mobile devices which basically contains your problem

Joomla mobile template testing

Joomla automagically recognises the mobile template and displays it on the mobile devices. but sometimes it does not display(very rarely) and also sometimes the behaviour is different(like logo disappearing).
Question:
1) Is there a way we can test the mobile template on the desktop computers (like m.mobilesite.com) so that we can debug the issue?
Yes You can,
The http://www.browserstack.com sites Provide a real machine for testing the device and browser compactability.(It a remote machine so the result is 100%).This required signup.
Also you can check iphone and ipad compactabilty with safari Developer option.
From Settings->Preference ->Advanced ->check the Show Develop menu option.
Now you will get a new menu in the browser Developer there you can choose the user agent.
You can also find several sites that provide mobile testing but those are not 100% sure
like iphone4simulator.com, iphonetester.com
Hope this may help you..
I also found that - If you decrease your browser width and height - it will display mobile format. I am not sure if this is a feature of later versions of joomla. Also on Chrome - developer tools, there is an option to choose the mobile device to test the webpage.

Google chrome frame - how does it work?

I'm looking into chrome frame and I'm wondering how it works.... http://scriptsrc.net shows that it's a javascript that can be embedded on the page....
http://code.google.com/chrome/chromeframe/ shows it as an install file... does the JS prompt for an installation or something?
Google chrome frame is a plugin (think Adobe Flash) for Internet Explorer, that replaces core modules of IE (unlike Flash), like layout/rendering and javascript. But the UI remains. Then there is some javascript that can detect if this is real IE or IE+Chrome, and also offer an install option to the user. Also there is a HTTP-header and a meta-tag that are required to switch IE to chrome mode, when available.
The JavaScript is to detect it and enable it if it's there. (scriptsrc is just giving you the link to the file, which is on the Google CDN.) The end user does have to do a one-time install of it, it's a plug-in (like Flash or Java). Quoting from this page in the Google documentation:
In Internet Explorer, check() determines if Chrome Frame is installed. If not, the user is prompted to install it.
