is there a way to display Waveform of an mp3 song in WP7 ?
I tried to play around with MediaStreamSource but nothing really worked out.
Thanks, Michal
There is no stock component that does that. Your best option at this point is build your own, given that you are directly reading the frequencies from the MP3 file you are talking about.

I tried finding information on the web, but could not, so I was wondering if anyone has some information:
We have made a Flash animation
We have embedded it in a PowerPoint slide
Everything is working on our side
I just want to make sure before I send it to the client that it will work if someone has no Shockwave plugin installed? In other words, does PowerPoint include the "Codec" to view the item when the PowerPoint file is generated?
I tried uninstalling my Shockwave, but for some reason I am unable to, so I am not sure how to test this.
Any ideas will be appreciated.
Thanks!
Kobus
If the playback computer doesn't have the correct plug-in, it won't be able to play the Flash animation. Flash playback doesn't use CODECs in the same sense that WMVs and other movie formats do.
I'd like to know if it's possible to grab snapshots from previously recorded videos. Those videos are recorded in the app itself.
By the way, I'd like to grab the snapshot from a video file saved in IsolatedStorage without having to play the video.
Is it possible? If so, how can I do it?
Cheers,
Rafael
I am not aware of an official platform feature to do this. However, if the video file is within your app's isolated storage, you might be able to:
Send the video to a server to do the processing
Add codecs/C# code to your app to process the raw MPEG4 frames.
Try using WriteableBitmap to capture a specific frame when using the media element. Since most media is handled in hardware, however, it is possible that the frame will be blank.
I solved the problem by creating the thumbnail while recording the video (captureSource.CaptureImageAsync()). To do that, I used the same instance of the CaptureSource I'm using to record the video.
for ppt presentation i want to create video for ipod touch app.
is their any possibility to create video
from Xcode using simulator
or directly from device
or any other possibility
thank you very much
Please see: Is there a way I can capture my iPhone screen as a video?
This post describes many ways to capture video. It looks like there isn't a completely intuitive way to record the video, but this post lists some of the options others have used for their applications.
I am trying to make a simple application which will store the sound said by user , say on click of record button and will play it back to him/her , say on click of play button.
Can anyone suggest me some appropriate way to do this ??
Thanks,
Miraaj
You can use QuickTime Kit's capture APIs to record a movie of the audio, and QTMovie (from the same framework) to convert it to a more conventional format for audio files and to play back both the intermediate file and the converted file.
There used to be a QuickTime Kit Programming Guide, but it didn't cover capturing and is now gone from developer.apple.com. You should file a bug against the docs.
This answer will work in a Cocoa (Mac) app. If you meant to ask about the iPhone, you should re-tag your question, as the solution will be completely different for a Cocoa app vs. a Cocoa Touch (iPhone) app.
I used direct sound to create an entire internet phone application a few years ago. Your question is far simpler, you won't have to deal with the circular buffer as critically. Direct sound is pretty main stream and you can find a lot of help with it in forums, and it's free!
Custom control,simple,more features and plugins...
Flowplayer is very good Flash video player. It comes in free and commercial version, and can be customized beyond your wildest dreams :)
JW FLV Media player, probably the best flash player around.
One of the simplest MP3 players is playtagger (see the two examples at the bottom of that page).
You simply include the js file, and a small play/stop button will be displayed next to every MP3 link. You have no possibility for customization, and it only works for MP3 (AFAIK). But it's very easy to use.
