I created a WCF service and deployed it to my production environment (Windows 2008). The client (also Windows 2008) cannot connect to the server port. I have stopped the Windows Firewall service on the server, and I can see the port listening when I use netstat from command line on the server. I am fairly sure that it is a problem related to the port because I can ping the server, but when I tried to do telnet serverIP port, I got an error. The client machine can connect to other machines on the network (e.g. DB server) so it does not seem to be a problem on the client side. Any ideas on what else could cause the port to be blocked?

I'm trying to connect to an Oracle DB from Entity Framework, but the DB rejects direct connections from the PC. I need to connect through a jump server / gateway.
Here's what's working:
From the gateway server I can connect to the DB using both sqlplus and EF. The gateway has a ssh server.
From the local PC I can start an ssh session on the gateway server (and from the ssh session I can continue with connecting to the DB using sqlplus).

In particular, when I run plink -N -L localport:dbserver:dbport yourname#connectionserver locally on the PC, I get "session granted", but when connecting with EF from the PC, the connection request gets time out. In that case I use the gateway server as DataSource.
I've checked firewall settings, and port 1521 is open on both PC and gateway server.
UPDATED INFO:
When, instead of using ssh port forwarding on the gateway, I use socat tcp-listen:1521,reuseaddr,fork,tcp:<db_server:port> as port forwarding (on the gateway), I get a response with tnsping <gateway_server> on the local PC.
When Signoz is running locally via Docker with the client application in the same server, everything is working. However, if I configure the same application on another Windows server, I got connection timed out exception. There's no firewall issue as if I host another dummy application on port 4317, the other server can access the resource.

I setup a new server with windows server 2012 system to do a server migration. I can remote the server via mstsc. But failed to ping the server. The server can ping outside successfully. My computer and server are not in the same lan.
I started the echo recall ipv4-in service. But it didn't work.
I have no idea about how to enable the ping on my sever.
I would appreciate it if anyone can give some suggestion about how to make me ping the server successfully.

If you are facing any issue with remote Desktop(MSTSC), first of all, you have to ensure that MSTSC is enabled in your client machine as well as server
If MSTSC is enabled in both then check in the server there is a policy on sever who can access via remote Desktop(This policy is about RDP version which version of MSTSc can access the server remotely select the lower version which is having in your client.
For getting ping first you have to ensure that both (Client machine & Server machine Should be in the same network it applicable when you are accessing the server locally )
Also once you check the firewall setting in your client machine if the firewall is enabled, then if possible then disable the firewall of the client machine if not possible then allow the ICMP Protocol in the firewall rule.
Once you have done all these steps your problem will be solved.
I am trying to run a website (WAR-file)on a remote CentOS 7.5 VM.
I have access to this VM through ssh connection with putty and am able to remote view desktop. The current problem is that even though Tomcat can start, when trying to wget or via browser to view the website a "Connection refused" is returned. I have checked that I request from the right ports and Tomcat does not throw an exception on startup that no port could be opened.
Has it something to do with firewall, which might be preventing access to the port.
Or you might want to map the exposed tomcat port to an external port.
I'm being in a tough spot, having created 2 different virtual machines on Azure, with windows server 2012 R2 OS. I'm trying to host a game server for a game, which requires ports 7777 and 27015 opened.
What I did is simple, I went into the panel, set-up endpoints for 7777, 27015, for UDP and TCP, and added exceptions to firewall as well for incoming/outcoming 7777, 27015 TCP and UDP.
canyouseeme.org still apparently can't find my service and shows me the ports are not opened. It shows my remote connection port is opened though. What am I doing wrong? Is there anything more that I need to know?

If you opened the ports on your Firewall and on the Endpoints screen you are probably fine to game. The problem is probably with the utility that you're testing with and not the ports themselves.
I logged onto an Azure VM that I know I can remotely connect to, tested an open port that I know is open with that website, and it said it did not find it. Maybe that site is using Ping, which gets stuck in Azure's load balancer. To test connectivity, try using PSPing.
