Silverlight works in IE, blank page in other browsers - visual-studio-2010

I am new to SilverLight and I am trying to replicate a simple example from the book "Pro Silverlight 5 in C#" by Matthew MacDonald.
I am using VS2012 to create Silverlight 5 application.
When I run SilverlightApplication1TestPage.html - it works in IE10, but in FF and Chrome I get a blank page. The SilverLight plugin loads in these browsers but does not show anything.
Please give me any suggestions as to why this is happening.
The MainPage.xaml code is as follows.
<UserControl x:Class="SilverlightApplication1.MainPage"
xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation"
xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml"
xmlns:d="http://schemas.microsoft.com/expression/blend/2008"
xmlns:mc="http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/markup-compatibility/2006"
mc:Ignorable="d"
d:DesignHeight="300" d:DesignWidth="400">
<Grid x:Name="LayoutRoot" Background="White">
<StackPanel>
<TextBlock x:Name="lblMessage" Text="Hello World!" Margin="5"></TextBlock>
<Button x:Name="cmdClickMe" Content="Click Me!" Margin="5" Click="cmdClickMe_Click" />
</StackPanel>
</Grid>
The MainPage.xaml.cs contains the following handler.
private void cmdClickMe_Click(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e)
{
lblMessage.Text = "Goodbye, cruel world.";
}
The html page looks as follows (the body portion).
<body>
<form id="form1" runat="server" style="height:100%">
<div id="silverlightControlHost">
<object data="data:application/x-silverlight-2," type="application/x-silverlight-2" width="100%" height="100%">
<param name="source" value="SilverlightApplication1.xap"/>
<param name="onError" value="onSilverlightError" />
<param name="background" value="white" />
<param name="minRuntimeVersion" value="5.0.61118.0" />
<param name="autoUpgrade" value="true" />
<a href="http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=149156&v=5.0.61118.0" style="text-decoration:none">
<img src="http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=161376" alt="Get Microsoft Silverlight" style="border-style:none"/>
</a>
</object><iframe id="_sl_historyFrame" style="visibility:hidden;height:0px;width:0px;border:0px"></iframe></div>
</form>

The problem was that the Silverlight project directory was located under "C:\Users\<USER>\Documents\Visual Studio 2012\Projects", where <USER> was not written in English.
I moved the .html and .xap files to C:\ and the projected worked fine in all browsers.

Wix bootstrapper multiple hyperlink text

My idea is to make multiple license terms link's with different name One of them should be "license terms" next "diagnostics". But then I try to change name I faced this issue:
Here is my code for this RtfTheme.XML:
<Page Name="Install">
<Hypertext Name="EulaHyperlink" X="94" Y="-100" Width="-11" Height="17" TabStop="yes" FontId="3" HideWhenDisabled="yes">#(loc.InstallLicenseLinkText)</Hypertext>
<Checkbox Name="EulaAcceptCheckbox" Height="30" Width="300" X="120" Y="-67" FontId="3">#(loc.InstallLicenseLinkCheckBox)</Checkbox>
<Button Name="InstallButton" X="160" Y="-30" Width="75" Height="23" TabStop="yes" FontId="0">#(loc.InstallInstallButton)</Button>
<Button Name="InstallCancelButton" X="240" Y="-30" Width="75" Height="23" TabStop="yes" FontId="0">
<Text>Cancel</Text>
<CloseWindowAction />
</Button>
</Page>
Bundle.wxs:
<BootstrapperApplicationRef Id="WixStandardBootstrapperApplication.HyperlinkLicense" >
<bal:WixStandardBootstrapperApplication

ThemeFile="Resources/RtfTheme.xml"

<Payload SourceFile="Resources/r2.png"/>
</BootstrapperApplicationRef>
RtfTheme.WXL
<String Id="InstallLicenseLinkText">By installing you accept these <a href="#">license terms</a></String>
<String Id="InstallLicenseLinkCheckBox">Also include <a href="#">diagnostics</a></String>
Maybe whom have same issue and know how can I fix this? Please suggest.
Make your check box the size of the box itself with no text. Add a second <Hypertext> that is positioned right beside the check box.

MultiDataTrigger.Conditions Binding to UserControl specified in another xaml file

Is it possible to create TabItem MultiTrigger that will bind to Valiation.HasError property from a control that:
is a part of another UserControl
UserControl is defined in another xaml file
UserControl is a child of TabItem where MultTrigger is defined
Main xaml file:
<telerik:RadTabItem Header="Data">
<telerik:RadTabItem.Style>
<Style TargetType="{x:Type telerik:RadTabItem}" BasedOn="{StaticResource {x:Type telerik:RadTabItem}}">
<Setter Property="HeaderTemplate" Value="{StaticResource TabItemErrorTemplate}"/>
<Style.Triggers>
<MultiDataTrigger>
<MultiDataTrigger.Conditions>
<!-- does not work -->
<Condition Binding="{Binding RelativeSource={RelativeSource FindAncestor, AncestorType={x:Type local:EquipmentDetailsTabBasicData}}, Path=InputName.(Validation.HasError)}" Value="False"/>
<!-- works only if UserControl content is inculded directly in TabItem -->
<Condition Binding="{Binding ElementName=InputPiecesCount}, Path=(Validation.HasError)}" Value="False"/>
</MultiDataTrigger.Conditions>
<Setter Property="HeaderTemplate" Value="{StaticResource TabItemTemplate}"/>
</MultiDataTrigger>
</Style.Triggers>
</Style>
</telerik:RadTabItem.Style>
<local:EquipmentDetailsTabBasicData x:Name="TabBasicData"/>
</telerik:RadTabItem>
local:EquipmentDetailsTabBasicData xaml file looks like this:
<UserControl>
<Grid>
<telerik:RadMaskedTextInput
x:Name="InputName"
Value="{Binding Name, ValidatesOnDataErrors=True, NotifyOnValidationError=True}"/>
<telerik:RadMaskedNumericInput
x:Name="InputPiecesCount"
Value="{Binding PiecesCount, ValidatesOnDataErrors=True, NotifyOnValidationError=True, Mode=TwoWay}"
/>
</Grid>
</UserControl>
MultDataTrigger conditions shows my attempts to bind to controls in child UserControl - both do not work.
I can just move UserControl contents to RadTabItem. When I do the second version (binding by ElementName) works OK. I would like to avoid it because it makes my xaml file hard to maintain.
The first version is taken from this answer, but it does not work and I think that because UserControl is not an ancestor of RadTabItem.

How to set a number of error with xul like firebug does

As the question explains itself i've a button like firebug and i wanted to set there a number when some events happens like firebug doeas when it detects errors on the page.
Does anyone know how to set it?
This is the code of the top button that displays a panel, so i want to set there a number when certains events happens..
<panel id="asv-panel">
<hbox align="start">
<vbox>
<hbox align="center" style="background-color:#ffffff">
<image id="asvbutton-panel-icon" width="200px" height="50px" style="margin-left:10px"/>
</hbox>
<hbox style="background-color:#fff" id="menuPanelContainer">
<html:div style="margin-top:20px;margin-left:20px;width:150px" id="menuLogginInicial">
<description value="&asbutton.Signin;"/>
<html:hr/>
<image id="asvbutton-logoface" width="50px" height="50px" style="cursor:pointer" onclick="asvbutton.login();"/>
<image id="asvbutton-logogoogle" width="47px" height="45px" style="align:left;cursor:pointer"/>
<image id="asvbutton-logotwitter" width="50px" height="50px" style="align:left;cursor:pointer"/>
</html:div>
</hbox>
</vbox>
</hbox>
</panel>
</toolbarbutton>
After thousands of pages and samples... the easiest way was creating a div and doing an appendChild to it (old school method) :D
Hope this helps someone.

Zk how to reach included .zul page component by id?

I can't reach component by id in the included .zul page. I have one main.zul with a controller and I need to get a component in included zul page through the java controller class, but it returns null.
I know the included method creates new id space but is there any way to get this component?

IndexCOntroller.java
public class IndexController extends GenericForwardComposer {
private List<User> userList = new ArrayList<User>() ;
AnnotateDataBinder binder;
Tabbox tb;
Window Dealer;
private int pageCount=0;
#Override
public void doAfterCompose(Component comp) throws Exception {
// TODO Auto-generated method stub
super.doAfterCompose(comp);
comp.setVariable(comp.getId() + "Controller", this, true);
binder = (AnnotateDataBinder) Dealer.getVariable("binder", true);
System.out.println(Path.getComponent("//list/listModel"));
}
public IndexController() {
// TODO Auto-generated constructor stub
}
}
Normally I wouldn't recommend using Path.getComponent() way to access other components as your application code becomes tightly coupled with your component structure in your view page.
In your case you simplest way is to use AbstractComponent#getFellow(String compId) method so for eg.
Include inc = (Include) Dealer.getFellow("PagingListBoxContent");
Listbox listModel = (Listbox) inc.getFellow("listModel");
System.out.println(listModel);
So in future even if you insert any other component in your ZUML page before your listbox your code will still work.
UPDATE: BTW there was an interesting blogpost on this very topic on ZK blog recently
if your include have id, you can use dollar sign to get the inner components
<zk>
<include id="inc" src="test.zul />
</zk>
test.zul
<zk>
<label id="lab1" value="test1" />
</zk>
you can use "inc$lab1" get the label in test.zul
You can access any component in any other id space using zscript or java. if it is on the same page, but different window then (component B in window A):
Path.getComponent("/A/B");
if it is on a different page then (component B in window A on page P):
Path.getComponent("//P/A/B");
You can find documentation here: http://books.zkoss.org/wiki/ZK%20Developer%27s%20Reference/UI%20Composing/ID%20Space
You can add in your IndexController.java:
...
private Include DealerInfoContent;
...
this way you can access the included component within the parent composer.
(I would suggest to use camelCase ids for it, though).

Getting XUL:Scale to show what numeric value is selected

I'm working with XUL, and below is abasic slider/scale implementation:
<scale value="1" min="1" max="10" increment="1"/>
However I want a numbox next to it which displays the value selected in the slider, and maybe I didn't look hard enough in the XUL tutorial, but I couldn't find a feasible answer.
<?xml version="1.0"?>
<?xml-stylesheet href="chrome://global/skin/" type="text/css"?>
<window id="yourwindow"
xmlns="http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul">
<scale value="1" min="1" max="10" increment="1" id="a"/>
<textbox readonly="true" observes="a"/>
</window>
