During development i found that in system configuration->Design HTML Head section is missing.
I had gone through many tutorial but not get the solution of this problem.
I had clear the cache and perform indexing.
Disable all the install module.
I am using magento 1.7.0.2
If you have added new layout in your cms section . And added Mage/Page module config.xml in local, then also add system xml there.I thing this will work for you.
local/Mage/Page/etc/system.xml

Having just got myself acquainted (enough) with Magento 1.9, and able to make the customisations required, I've been told that once it's out, we're moving to Magento v2.0.
Having found the differences in the file structure, I believe I can see where to place my code for the custom pages we use, but how can I add this page from my project to a static block for later use?
Previously, the method used was as follows (I realise this may not follow the best practise, but it worked):
Create element folder within theme or core templates directory.
eg. /app/design/frontend/<theme>/default/template/myelement/mypage.phtml
Add this page/element to a static block using the following in the content editor:
{{block type="<theme>/default" template="myelement/mypage.phtml"}}
This block can then be added to the category pages as required.
In Magento 2, I have tried what I believe to be required, which is replicating the file structure and adding phtml files to this, so the template file now resides in:
/app/code/<supplier>/<module>/view/frontend/templates/mypage.phtml
Adding to the content editor the following:
{{block type="<supplier>/<module>" template="mypage.phtml"}}
Unfortunately, this does not display the intended page (element). It doesn't display the calling "{{block" entry either, which usually happens when the line is invalid, so I can only assume that I'm missing something with the link to this template.
If anyone can offer some assistance with this, I would be most grateful.
EDIT:
Continued research on this has led me to the following assumptions:
Magento 2 requires more than just a new .phtml page, even for simple customizations.
I'm still missing something.....
Having gone through 3 different tutorials on creating new modules for Magento 2, each providing slightly different methods, but fundamentally being the same thing, I now have what I believe should be all the code elements to make a new .phtml template for display in a static block.
This has led to an additional problem though.
While I have the required code, I cannot add the module. Adding the module to etc/config.php, as suggested in 2 out of the 3 tutorials, simply crashed M2, both admin and frontend when you try to clear the cache. This is the case after manually clearing cache folders in the var directory.
Also, still unable to add the .phtml template file to a static block or page using content editor.
Not much hair left to pull out here, so looking for help! Thanks in advance
There are a few samples on GitHub, including https://github.com/magento/magento2-samples/tree/master/sample-module-newpage which shows a module adding a new page with a very simple PHTML template file. This example does not use CMS content editing however - it is a sample based on using layout files.
You mentioned you were getting crashes. Would need more details to help on that one. If you got it solved, could you update this question and accept a response to close it out? Thx!
You Should try "class" instead of "type". So your code should look like.
{{block class="<package>\<module>\Block\MyBlock" template="mypage.phtml"}}
You Should try "VenderName_Modulename::myelement/mypage.phtml" instead of "myelement/mypage.phtml". So your code should look like.
{{block class="VenderNameModulename\Block\MyBlock" template="VenderName_Modulename::myelement/mypage.phtml"}}
Hi I'm trying to figure out theme implementation in Magento. It's my first Magento Community Edition installation and obviously first theme that I try. Its a fairly popular theme called "Fortis". The problem I'm ecnoutering is when I click the links that is included in the default theme e.g. Account or Cart. The url link does not exist and its not included in the folders that comes with Fortis.
So my question is: What is the standard implementation when it comes to Magento Themes? What am I missing here and why are the links not working?
Fortis front page:
Links do not work:
The issue seems with the URL rewrite
try browsing to
localhost/magento_dev/public_html/index.php/hardvara.html
and
localhost/magento_dev/public_html/index.php/customer/account
Check your .htaccess for RewriteBase and set it accordingly
Enable Web Server rewrites at Admin Panel > System > Configuration > Web > Search Engine Optimization
Clear Cache.
I feel, you should try to access/install magento using your IP address instead of localhost. It should be something like that http://192.168.1.123/magento_dev. Replace this dummy ip with your own ip address.
I'm running Magento 1.7.0.2 with multistore and I would like to change the favicon of my stores but the favicon option is disappeared from the Config - Design - HTML Head where it should be.
The file app/code/core/Mage/Page/etc/system.xml contain the reference to this option
and the file app/code/core/Mage/Adminhtml/Model/System/Config/Backend/Image/Favicon.php is present.
Any suggestion?
Thanks
Enrico
you can simply replace the default favicon with your own in /skin/adminhtml/default/default/favicon.ico location
Was a broken installation, I tried all of your suggestion without success. The site had, during the time many website and store view added and removed. Many themes and customization. We decide to split it in different vhost now all it's more clean and smouth.
Can you take a screenshot of System -> configuration -> Design that show 'Current Configuration Scope' and 'Favicon Icon' see example below
I am facing an issue in Magento. I want to add some custom fields to Magento Admin Panel CMS Edit Page. I got a page while searching where it describes adding a custom field in CMS page: http://blog.flexishore.com/2011/08/add-custom-field-to-cms-page/ .
I have followed every step in this, but I am still getting an error Call to undefined function getLoad().
Can anyone here explain me how to add custom fields in CMS page?
You can try this article (http://www.atwix.com/magento/adding-custom-attribute-to-a-cms-page/) as well, it's more simple, maybe it will be helpful for you.
Also don't forget about cache, I recommend you disable it when you are testing your own modules.
I'm reading through chapter 4 of the magento developers guide which explains how to build a shipping module I've built the config.xml put it in the proper place, put the MagentoBook_ShippingModule.xml file where it needs to go then it tells me I can configure it in the admin panel but it doesn't show up do I need to reboot the server or something for it to take effect ?
Ok well I found the answer on this thread you have to refresh magento's cache
