In wp8 (and wp7) there are 5 types of page transitions: RollTransition, RotateTransition, SlideTransition, SwivelTransition, TurnstileTransition.
But i want make transition between pages like Android transition use control ViewPager.
Is it possible?
For doing Custom Animation you can use storyboard class in wp8 as well as windows 8.And if you want do it in simple way you have to use Microsoft Blend for VS 2012. In which you have to open your project in blend and make new storyboard that you can call in your project. you can see this storyboard in XAMLpage.

Currently I using Xamarin Forms 5 (preview) and targeting Android 8.1 with the latest Lottie installed (3.5.0 for XF and 4.0.8 for Android)
I'm wanting to add some seasonal themes to my app and was looking to "overlay" a Lottie animation on top of the pages. Currently I use Lottie for a splash screen and it works great, but I cant work out how to apply something app wide.
Setting InputTransparent="True" basically means the control does not intercept the user input. Therefore any control under it will work as expected.
I have tried my UWP app on XBOX one which is built using xamarin.forms and it works generally fine but by default mouse mode is active. I changed it using
RequiresPointerMode = Windows.UI.Xaml.ApplicationRequiresPointerMode.WhenRequested;
on UWP level in app.xaml.cs and it disabled mouse pointer but problem is that using game pad, i am not able to select items on the UI. I can navigate through textbox and buttons but not Toolbar (Commandbar in uwp), ListView, Masterdetail, Tabs etc.
I created a blank native UWP application and added a commandbar with AppBarButtons and NavigationView with NavigationViewItems. It perfectly works, I am able to navigate between menu items and commanbaritems using mouse pad.
Why this is not working for Xamarin.Forms? is xamarin.forms not actually native for UWP?
Xamarin.Forms MasterDetailPage was written before NavigationView existed and it doesn't use it at all (and especially not with NavigationViewItems, that would limit the flexibility, i don't think it will ever be used).
As SplitView has some focus bug that I can confirm it doesn't come as a surprise that it doesn't work with XBox as expected. However UWP doesn't grant that the app will work properly when you disable the mouse mode with native controls, that's why it is enabled by default. There are properties like XYFocusLeft that must be set if the app is not working properly. You probably need to make custom renderer to expose those properties and set them right. That's pretty much of work to do but it is up to you to decide...
Hello everyone i am trying to build a horizontal slide menu for a windows mobile 7 app. Any idea how to do that?
That sliding menu is called Navigation Drawer and is a standard UI element for Android OS. It is not recommended on Windows Phone. However, you can mimic it using an offscreen UserControl or Panel.
Take a look at the following blog post: A behavior to implement a scroll-into-view panel (for a Facebook-like GUI) on Windows Phone.
I am using the official Windows Phone 7 SketchFlow template, based on the Windows Phone SDK. Is there any way to detect when the user has clicked the landscape orientation button in the player, and act accordingly? Specifically, I'd like to display completely different views depending on orientation. Thank you!
It looks like the portrait and landscape functionality is implemented with visual states. If you select the correct visual state and make your changes (such as showing different controls) it should work the way you want.
I just wondering how to make panorama start-up animation like music+video or picture app. Notice the sliding 3d animation when we open music+video/picture/marketplace app.
When I create panorama project using VS 2010 Express, the animation is just from right to left.
How do i make that animation?
If I understand you correctly - take a look to Wp7 silverlight toolkit - page transitions
The animations are there, but if you have too many things running on the UI thread, the animation will be hard to see since loading will be choppy. To test this, just make a new page with a default panorama inside it and observe the animation while its empty. Zune app will always be faster, its run on native code from my understanding.
