applyDeltas in ACE editor - ace-editor

I'm trying to save change actions in an Ace editor and then play them back. There's some pseudo-ish code below - the gist is that the applyDeltas API doesn't seem to do anything for my editor. I bind to the editor change event, push change deltas to an array, and try to play it back later - I don't see any errors when I run the code below, but I also don't see my editor content change.
Thanks
Mustafa
shouldRecord = true;
myStoredArray = new Array();
editor.on('change', function(e) {
if(shouldRecord) {
myStoredArray.push(e.data);
}
});
//on a button click
shouldRecord = false;
editor.getSession().setValue(''); //clear
for(var currentDelta in myStoredArray) {
editor.getSession().getDocument().applyDeltas(currentDelta);
}

Of course I've discovered the answer -
the applyDeltas(Object deltas) API takes an array of deltas. Changing my sample code above to editor.getSession().getDocument().applyDeltas([currentDelta]) plays back properly.
Hope this helps someone.

How to Move Invisible Recaptcha Badge to Another Place on Page

I have the new invisible recaptcha working fine, but it puts the badge in bottom left or right corner. You can override this with "data-badge='inline'" and that pulls it into the form. Google is extremely vague on how to actually move it. You cannot hide it as google will not validate your form anymore. Soo...
THE ISSUE is I cannot seem to move it anywhere else on the page. I want to move it to the bottom of the page inside a div I created. Has anyone successfully done this? I tried appendTo but that does not work.
$('.grecaptcha-badge').appendTo("#g-badge-newlocation");
Any help would be great!!!
Thank you.
If you want to comply with Google Terms, then you can use a timer to detect the badge and then move it down at the bottom. You have to set the badge property to inline. jQuery appendTo worked for me:
Recaptcha code
var onSubmit = function(token) {
console.log('success!');
};
var onloadCallback = function() {
grecaptcha.render('submit', {
'sitekey' : '<your_site_key>',
'callback' : onSubmit,
'badge': 'inline'
});
};
The code to setup a timer to check and move grecaptcha-badge element
jQuery(function($) {
var checkTimer = setInterval(function() {
if($('.grecaptcha-badge').length > 0) {
$('.grecaptcha-badge').appendTo("#g-badge-newlocation");
clearInterval(checkTimer);
}
}, 50);
});
Please check my live example here (http://zikro.gr/dbg/google/recaptcha/). You can see that the badge goes at the bottom inside #g-badge-newlocation element and that it works because when you hit submit, recaptcha triggers the callback function which logs the word "success~".

Kendo Grid - PopUp windows not being removed from the DOM

I have a kendo grid with a custom popup:
columns.Command(commands =>
{
commands.Edit();
}
.Editable(editing => editing.Mode(Kendo.Mvc.UI.GridEditMode.PopUp))
Each time I click the edit button the window pops up but when I close it the window is not removed from the DOM.
I saw this post: http://www.telerik.com/forums/popup-windows-do-not-get-removed-from-dom and Telerik says the issue has been fixed.
What are some things that would cause this behavior?
UPDATED
This grid is nested in a Kendo TabStrip if that helps. Other than that I don't see anything out of the ordinary. The popup is entirely managed by the grid.
UPDATED 2
So I got the un-minimized code for the grid (kendo.grid.min.js, version 2013.3.1119, starting at line 1172), slopped it into my project and modified just the following with the two log statements to verify that destroy is being bound and called:
_destroyEditable: function () {
var that = this;
var destroy = function () {
if (that.editable) {
// My edit
console.log("...destroy() called");
that._detachModelChange();
that.editable.destroy();
that.editable = null;
that._editContainer = null;
}
};
if (that.editable) {
if (that._editMode() === "popup") {
// My edit
console.log("Binding destroy() to 'deactivate'...");
that._editContainer.data("kendoWindow").bind("deactivate", destroy).close();
} else {
destroy();
}
}
},
Each time I click edit and then close the window I see the expected two messages yet the window is not removed. Here is a screenshot of the debugger:
The outlined windows are the dom elements generated.
After much trial and error and deep diving it turns out this problem has to do with our scripts in our site's layout. At some point whomever setup the kendo scripts put in not only the 'kendo.all.min.js' but right after it 'kendo.web.min.js', 'kendo.aspnetmvc.min.js' and then about 10 individual kendo.*.js including the grid.
After viewing this link:
http://docs.telerik.com/kendo-ui/getting-started/javascript-dependencies
I realized that the site is creating these objects multiple times. Removing the script references in accordance to the link above resolves the issue.

ckeditor make dialog element readonly or disable

I need to be able to make the URL input field in the Link Dialog window readonly or disable it. The field gets populated when the user selects a file from the server.
Another user posted this link as a solution, http://docs.cksource.com/ckeditor_api/symbols/CKEDITOR.ui.dialog.uiElement.html#disable but there is no example and I can't figure out how to implement it.
In the onLoad handler of the dialog you can disable it this way:
this.getContentElement("info", "url").disable();
this is what I ended up doing. I wrote it in my js file instead of the plugin file, but I dont think that would make a difference. I am using inline ckeditor version 4.0.2
CKEDITOR.on('dialogDefinition', function(event) {
var dialogName = event.data.name;
var dialogDefinition = event.data.definition;
//some code here
if(dialogName == 'flash'){ // flash dialog box name
//some code here
dialogDefinition.onShow = function () {
this.getContentElement("info","width").disable(); // info is the name of the tab and width is the id of the element inside the tab
this.getContentElement("info","height").disable();
}
}
});
You can disable url field by just one line
CKEDITOR.dialog.getCurrent().getContentElement('info','txtUrl').disable()
I got it. I added this.getInputElement().setAttribute( 'readOnly', true ); to the onload funciton in ckeditor\plugins\links\dialogs\link.js. Before I was adding it to ckeditor\_source\plugins\links\dialogs\link.js. I'd still like an example of how to use the CKEDITOR.ui.dialog.uiElement disable feature, if anyone has one.

Force context menu to appear for form inputs

I'm trying to develop a ff addon that allows a user to right-click on a form element and perform a task associated with it.
Unfortunately somebody decided that the context menu shouldn't appear for form inputs in ff and despite long discussions https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=433168, they still don't appear for checkboxes, radios or selects.
I did find this: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Offering_a_context_menu_for_form_controls but I cannot think how to translate the code to work with the new add-on SDK.
I tried dumping the javascript shown into a content script and also via the observer-service but to no avail.
I also cannot find the source for the recommended extension https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/form-control-context-menu/ which considering it was 'created specifically to demonstrate how to do this' is pretty frustrating.
This seems like very basic addon functionality, any help or links to easier documentation would be greatly appreciated.
** UPDATE **
I have added the following code in a file, required from main, that seems to do the trick.
var {WindowTracker} = require("window-utils");
var tracker = WindowTracker({
onTrack: function(window){
if (window.location.href == "chrome://browser/content/browser.xul") {
// This is a browser window, replace
// window.nsContextMenu.prototype.setTarget function
window.setTargetOriginal = window.nsContextMenu.prototype.setTarget;
window.nsContextMenu.prototype.setTarget = function(aNode, aRangeParent, aRangeOffset) {
window.setTargetOriginal.apply(this, arguments);
this.shouldDisplay = true;
};
};
}
, onUntrack: function(window) {
if (window.location.href == "chrome://browser/content/browser.xul") {
// In case we were called because the extension is uninstalled - restore
// original window.nsContextMenu.prototype.setTarget function
window.nsContextMenu.prototype.setTarget = window.setTargetOriginal;
};
}
});
Unfortunately this still does not bring up a context menu for disabled inputs, but this is not a show-stopper for me.
Many Thanks
The important piece of code in this extension can be seen here. It is very simple - it replaces nsContextMenu.prototype.setTarget function in each browser window and makes sure that it sets shouldDisplay flag for form controls.
The only problem translating this to Add-on SDK is that the high-level modules don't give you direct access to browser windows. You have to use the deprecated window-utils module. Something like this should work:
var {WindowTracker} = require("sdk/deprecated/window-utils");
var tracker = WindowTracker({
onTrack: function(window)
{
if (window.location.href == "chrome://browser/content/browser.xul")
{
// This is a browser window, replace
// window.nsContextMenu.prototype.setTarget function
}
},
onUntrack: function(window)
{
if (window.location.href == "chrome://browser/content/browser.xul")
{
// In case we were called because the extension is uninstalled - restore
// original window.nsContextMenu.prototype.setTarget function
}
}
});
Note that WindowTracker is supposed to be replaced in some future SDK version. Also, for reference: nsContextMenu implementation

How to make full CKEditor re-initialization?

Please help me - I need to make full re-initialization of CKeditor. I don't want to make re-initialization of instances of CKeditor, but I want fully reload it. Is there any way to implement it?
I tried to made next:
delete window.CKEDITOR;
and then:
//clear for old sources
$('script[src*="/includes/contentEditor/ckeditor/"]').each(function() {
$(this).remove();
});
$('link[href*="/includes/contentEditor/ckeditor/"]').each(function() {
$(this).remove();
});
//load CKeditor again
contentEditor.loadjscssfile('/includes/contentEditor/ckeditor/ckeditor.js', 'js');
contentEditor.loadjscssfile('/includes/contentEditor/ckeditor/adapters/jquery.js', 'js');
My method loads editor but some plugins does not work after reloading. Thanks for any help!
I have plugins and I don't need to fully reinitialize CKEditor either, just instances, are you doing it properly?
To remove my instance (my textarea is referenced by ID txt_postMsg):
$('#btn_cancelPost').click(function(){
CKEDITOR.remove(CKEDITOR.instances.txt_postMsg);
$('#txt_postMsg').remove();
$('#cke_txt_postMsg').remove();
});
Then I re-create the textarea, and after a 50ms timeout I call the constructor with the textarea again, plugins reload fine. We have some pretty complex plugins for flash/image editing so maybe there's an issue with your plugin?
My version:
$$("textarea._cke").each(function(Z) {
if (typeof(CKEDITOR.instances[Z.id]) == 'undefined') {
CKEDITOR.replace(Z.id, { customConfig : "yourconfig.js"});
} else {
CKEDITOR.instances[Z.id].destroy(true);
CKEDITOR.replace(Z.id, { customConfig : "yourconfig.js"});
}
});
try something like
for(var instanceName in CKEDITOR.instances)
CKEDITOR.remove(CKEDITOR.instances[instanceName]);
CKEDITOR.replaceAll();
AlfonsoML
I use CKeditor for dynamically edit different part of site. When I click on some area of the site it shows popup with CKeditor with content of this area above this area. When I save it I destroy instance of this editor, but if while editing I use link plugin CKeditor can't show editor without page refreshing. Chrome says - Uncaught TypeError: Cannot call method 'split' of undefined, Mozilla - x.config.skin is undefined(I try to set config.skin and it show another error - z is undefined).
I hope the full re-init can help.
P.S. Sorry I can find how to answer on your comment...
I've been looking for a way to re-initialize the editor and the only solution that I end up is to delete the instance and create a new ID.
Here's my code.
var editor = 'myeditor'
var instance = CKEDITOR.instances[editor];
if(typeof instance != 'undefined')
{
instance.destroy();
$(".cke_editor_" + editor).remove();
//make a new id
editor = (Math.random().toString(36).substr(2, 10););
}
CKEDITOR.replace(editor,
{
}
It's not perfect but it works.
Hope this helps.
This is my solution:
var editor = CKEDITOR.instances[your_ckeditor_id];
editor.mode = 'source';
editor.setMode('wysiwyg');
OR
var editor = CKEDITOR.instances[your_ckeditor_id];
editor.setData(editor.getData());
