my team stores applications in azure repository. I downloaded my coworker's application in zip file. After I load the project in Visual Studio 2019, there are a lot of missing references and I cannot compile the code. My coworker uploaded application using TFS. Do I need to install anything to run the code? In ReactJs, I run npm install. How about Visual Studio apps? Thanks.
OKay, I followed Joachim's post, https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/nuget/consume-packages/package-restore#restore-packages-manually-using-visual-studio and then uninstall, reinstall the Json.Net, NewtonSoft package. Now the application can be compiled. Thanks everyone.
I am trying to add a nuget package (PiranhaCMS) to my VS2012/NET45 project. The nuget package itself depends on AutoMapper. When I try to install I get the message
'AutoMapper' already has a dependency defined for 'NETStandard.Library'
I'm confused because Piranha itself depends on NET45 not NETStandard. Research indicates I might need a later version of nuget. Having invoked nuget update -self on the nuget.exe in the .nuget folder under the solution, I tried again but got the same message.
What's further confusing me is nuget.exe is on 4.2.0.4168 but VS2012's Help, About dialog says the NuGet Package Manager is on 2.8.60318.667.
What I need to know is, can I get this package installed into this VS2012 solution? If so, how? If I can't do I need to move to VS017 so I can use a later version of NuGet which will install the package for me, even if the solution continues to target NET45?

We could not get this package installed into this Visual Studio 2012. That because full NetStandard and NetCoreApp support for VS2013 (NuGet version is 2.12) and the latest version for Visual Studio 2012 is 2.8.6. so we will get that error when we install the package "PiranhaCMS" by Visual Studio 2012.
You can refer to the NuGet release note for 2.12 for detail info.

Yes, you can install that package to the solution continues to target NET45 on Visual Studio 2017.
I got a new machine and upgraded from VS2012 to VS2013. Now i'm trying to compile a Project with DevExpress. Unfortunately the Compiler cant find the references and i'm not able to remove them from the Project Explorer. I installed the same DevExpress package.
May be you could download that package and install(force installation) them and try to remove them after. Sometime it could help !
I have a Visual Studio 2010 Solution Template.
When the user creates a solution using this template I want NuGet to get the latest version of that a package and install it.
The package is my own, shared on a network drive, maybe this is the issue.
I've looked at NuGet Restore and the Auto update feature but it still fails to get my package.
Here is a link to how to install packages via Visual Studio Template - http://docs.nuget.org/docs/reference/packages-in-visual-studio-templates.
Currently NuGet supports three package repositories, as discussed by the document. Your template can install a fixed version of NuGet packages; and the template consumer will need to update to the latest version themselves.
I'm trying to the install the latest version of the Windows Azure SDK on Windows 7 using the Web Platform Installer. The installation succeeds but I'm not able to see Windows Azure project templates in Visual Studio 2010. Any ideas are appreciated.
Cheers,
In a vanilla install of Visual Studio 2010 (SP1) they should be there automatically in the folder "Cloud". There you can download the Azure Tools to actually use them.
see: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windowsazure/ff687127.aspx
I would like to know whether you can see the “Cloud” folder on the left side of the new project dialog. If not, please try to run the following command:
Devenv /resetsettings
When you first run Visual Studio, a dialog may be prompted for you to choose a setting. Please make sure to choose general developer settings. If you choose other settings, certain project templates may be hidden.
Best Regards,
Ming Xu.
Please check if you have the following folder on your machine:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0\Common7\IDE\ProjectTemplates\CSharp\Cloud
You can use “Program Files” instead of “Program Files (x86)” if you’re on a 32 bit machine. If Windows Azure is installed, you can see project templates under this folder.

Ming Xu.
Try installing Windows Azure SDK manually by downloading individual msi's from here (depending on your machine arch) http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=28045
and see if you are running into an error for any one of them.
(WindowsAzureTools.VS100.exe should install the project templates)
Hope this helps.
Finally got it working.
Uninstalled Visual Studio 2010 Express
Repaired and did a complete install of Visual Studio 2010
Installed the Azure tools and SDK manually
Not sure why it worked but it did. Thanks for all the answers!

Are you using a version of Visual Studio where you can create Web projects and things like that? Maybe it is a problem with the version. Can you create MVC projects?
