So here I am in quite a pickle.
If you make a screenshot in Windows 7, it is presented to you in .png format. The question is, does Windows first create a bitmap screenshot and then without your explicit consent convert it to .png? Or is it made in .png from the start?
Question no. 2:
Why it uses 24-bit format for the image? And is it 1-byte per colour or do those 24 bits include some kind of transparency?

1: It makes .png right away, and even if it didn't I don't see what difference would it make. Format .png is a raster format(bitmap) itself, very similar to .bmp, the only difference is that is can be compressed, but that doesn't erase any usable data in it.
2: Each color takes 1 byte = 8 bits, one byte for each channel, R(ed), G(reen) and B(lue). That sums up into 3 x 8 = 24 bits(not bytes). You can also add one more channel for transparency, usually called Alpha, which would be the 4th byte and then one pixel will have 32 bits.

I'm using Indesign to create a multiple pages pdf, I have a background image across two pages, when I export the pdf the background seems not joining well over the two pages even if this image is one unique image.
I've made PDF from your layout (I didn't move anything, I just added the .25pt lines) and I see no problem:
It looks like the problem with the PDF viewer you're using (Acrobat?). Though my Acrobat shows no problem as well, the page edges perfect match to each other.
Try to open these pages of your PDF in Illustrator and to align them manually.

Looks like the lower portion of my LCD is trying to readjust its height.
This doesn't show up if I record the screen. It seems to only appear when displaying certain kinds of graphics... like the dark UIs of Blender and Adobe Illustrator. It also shows up if I play back a video of these troublesome GUIs in fullscreen!
What could be causing this?
EDIT: Fixed by moving the image up when the problem occurs.
It looks like your monitor is adjusting the screen to fit what it is being shown. It is probably a configuration problem. You should set it to "just scan" or whichever is the equivalent on your monitor.

How to turn slides of Power Point into .jpg pics? Is there any such function in ppt? If yes, how can I get to it? Perhaps, not .jpg, but I need to turn slides into pictures. How can I do that?
Open the PowerPoint, go to Save As and choose Other Formats. In the Save as type, choose JPG. Should work.
Use a program such as http://www.picpick.org/en/ to take screenshots of your slides.

I was looking for a image compression tool for windows(Windows 7, more specifically), similar to ImageOptim (of mac). I've used few jpeg compressors tools in windows but they aren't giving the desired result. Yes, they compress the size but the quality of JPEGs are not good. some tools always print their water-marks on the image. this is not what I want.
The Tool should have these following features.
1. Free to use Licence.
2. Best Compression
3. Best quality
4. Multiple format compression, eg. JPG, GIF, PNG, etc.
5. Have windows context menu command to directly convert the image right from the explorer.
Waiting for your Replies. Thank You Guys.
There's FileOptimizer

According to this article it performed the best and the article also lists more options to explore:

Are barcodes symmetric? [closed]

This is just a confirmation. Are barcodes symmetric.
By symmetric I mean, if I rotate the barcode by 180 degrees. Will it have the same data decoded.
Basically does angle matter while scanning barcode? And are there any exceptions in the type of barcode.
No, the barcodes themselves are generally not symmetrical (I'll clarify that - you may be able to find one that is symmetrical but the vast majority of the standard ones are not).
However, any decent reader (such as the ones at your local supermarket) will scan in a large number of different directions to take care of this, not just backwards and forwards but at other angles as well. So you can generally rotate them to your heart's content.
Even the ones that scan in a line (such as some hand-held units) may scan both directions - it depends on what you've paid for. Of course, if you have a "Dodgy Brothers" brand reader, you'll probably find it won't do that.
Some barcode standards will allow for detecting upside down barcodes. For example UPCA swaps black and white on the right hand side so that readers can adjust for it.
Usually there is a start code and a check code in each bar code so the angle doesn't matter.
