Office JS Save text as xml file Fails

I want to ask if Office JS is allowed to save local files?
In old question/answers I found various solutions like
FileSaver.js
Download2.js
I tried both but it did not help.
Both are using the technique of embedding a download link in the HTML document dispatching the event programmatically using JS. But click event fails with error = Access is denied
I want to ask if
Office JS API is allowed to create files to local path?
if NO was it allowed in older versions?
If YES do I need to make some configuration changes on Windows 10 desktop PC?
If allowed Please help how to achieve that
I want to create an XML file using JavaScript and save it to local path
thanks

Load PDF file in codeigniter

I want to load a pdf file located in upload/grilles/ where upload is located in the root.
My code:
<?php echo $nomFichier; ?>
When I click in the link, codeigniter doesn't want to display the document unlike in a site without framework that display.
Why?
Thanks !
This is not a codeigniter problem, but a browser (Firefox) issue.
I'd recommend the PDF.JS library, which is a general-purpose, web standards-based platform for parsing and rendering PDFs.
note: your above example behave (checked on localhost ) in other browsers than FireFox as follows:
Chrome Version 34.0.1847.137: shows pdf in new window right away
IE 11: asks for permission to show the pdf, if granted shows pdf in new window right away
Safari (for windows) 5.1.7.: shows pdf in new window right away
Opera 12.11: shows pdf in new window right away
So....
It's just my URL.
The file name contains a space, but I injected the name in the url which gave:
localhost/xxxx/yyy/file%20test.pdf
but the url's file is:
localhost/xxxx/yyy/file_test.pdf
Sorry for the inconvenience

Open downloaded file in browser pdf format

I am using paperclip to upload docx doc and pdf files to my railsapp, is there any way I can view this uploaded files in the browser itself in pdf format, without downloading it ?
Try pdf.js.
Firefox recently started using it as viewer for PDF files, but you can integrate it in your app. But you still need to 'download' it, that is, load into the browser.

How OneNote accesses url of copied text from firefox, how can I use this in my app

When you copy text from a webpage in firefox (a non microsoft product) into OneNote it adds the url of the webpage along with the copied text as "Pasted from" as in the following example:
Apache OpenOffice is an open-source office productivity software suite
Pasted from <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Openoffice>
How OneNote access the url info of the copied text from a non microsoft app. How can I access similar information programmatically in my apps using c++/C# or other technologies? Is there some api to access additional information from system clipboard like url, source application, source file etc?
As explained in the documentation for the HTML clipboard format, Web browsers can provide an optional SourceURL to specify where the HTML came from.

How to register an app as a default viewer for a file type in WP 7.5?

I'm getting quite a few emails with logs in XML format attached and I want to associate my own app with the XML file type on Windows Phone Mango, overwriting the default xml viewer.
If overwriting isn't possible I can get the logs generated with a custom extension. I would then need to associate the extension with my app same way Adobe Reader does it for PDFs.
Is this possible?
Thanks
Currently there is no way to set your app as the default viewer for any file extension. The closest you can get at the moment is using extensibility. However, these are limited to Photos, Music and Search and not custom extensions. (Even then, your app wouldn't be the default viewer, but it would be accessible from the respective hubs).
