I am using Xcode 5.1.1.
I have a UITabViewController and used Storyboard to add 10 views to it.
It works great and I get the "more" and table view all for free.
I only want to show some of the tabs at the beginning.
Once the user logs in with their Google+ account (I actually got that working), then I want the rest of the tabs to appear, since they are content sensitive to the user logging in.
I have found:
[[[[self.tabBarController tabBar]items]objectAtIndex:3]setEnabled:FALSE];
But I do not want the items just greyed out, I want them removed completely until they log in.

Get all the tabbarviewcontrollers and remove them specifying the index of your need as follows:

I have an view that extends the current project view, where we add multiple tabs (notebook pages) to show information from other parts of a project.
One of these pages is an overview page that summarizes what is under the other tabs, and I'd like to link the headlines for each section directly to each displayed page. I've currently solved this by using the index of each tab and calling bootstrap's .tab('show') method on the link within the tab:

This works since I've attached a data-tab-index="<int>" to each header link in my widget code, but it's brittle - if someone adds a tab later, the current indices will be broken. Triggering a web client redirect / form link directly works, but I want to show a specific page in the view:

If I understood well you want to select the tab from the JavaScript (jQuery) FormWidget taking into account that the id could change if anybody install another module that adds another tab

You can add a class to the page in the xml form view. You can use the id of the element selected by this class name in order to call the right anchor and select the right tab item. This should happen when the page is completely loaded:

NOTE: As you have said the following paragrah I assume that you know where to run this instruction. The solution I suggest is independent of the index.

Solution 1
When the page is loaded you can get the tab list DOM object like this:
var tablist = $('ul[role="tablist"]')
And then you can click on the specifict tab, selecing by the text inside the anchor. So you don't depend on the tab index:
tablist.find('a:contains("Other Information")').click()
I think if you have two tabs with the same text does not make any sense, so this should be sufficient.
Solution 2
Even if you want to be more specific you can add a class to the notebook to make sure you are in the correct notebook
<notebook class="nt_to_change">
Now you can use one of this expressions in order to select the tab list

If the contains selector doesn't convince you because it should be equal you can do this as well to compare and filter

Where "Other Information" is the string of the notebook page
I didn't tried the solution I'm giving to you, but if it doesn't work at least may be it makes you come up with some idea.
There's a parameter for XML elements named autofocus (for buttons and fields is default_focus and takes 1 or 0 as value). If you add autofocus="autofocus" to a page in XML, this page will be the displayed one when you open the view.
So, you can try to add this through JavaScript, when the user clicks on the respective link -which honestly, I don't know how to achieve that by now-. But you can add a distinctive context parameter to each link in XML, for example context="{'page_to_display': 'page x'}". When you click on the link, I hope these context keys will arrive to your JS method.
If not, you can also modify the fields_view_get method (here I wrote how to do that: Odoo - Hide button for specific user) to check if you get the context you've added to your links and add the autofocus parameter to the respective page.

I assume that your app allow multi-user interaction in realtime, so you have to integrate somewhere in your code, an update part function.
This function will trig if something has changed and cleanout the data to rebuilt the index in order to avoid that the current indices will be broken.
I have an issue that When I want to add the room to the Home incase if the user is Guest then I am getting HMErrorCodeInsufficientPrivileges error. I have a view which will display after click on the button named "Add Room", My intensin is I want to detect it when the user clicked on the Add Room button and wants to display the alert without redirecting the user to Add Room View. Does anyone know how I can position a link inside the settings charm to always appear at the bottom?
Our UI team would like the "Sign out" link to always be position last, unfortunately the "Permissions" link, which is automatically added, shows below it, even though I use the append call on the applicationCommands object.

I'm building a UI in Google Sites using Apps Script and I am able to create a listbox. According to the documentation if you change the setVisibleItemCount to 1 it will become a dropdown box.
I have tried both 1 and 0.
Neither seems to make it a drop-down box. Using Firefox 13.0.1 to view. Have also tried Safari.
Anyone had any luck with this?

This is all inside a Google Site and the page that is being displayed is a Apps Script Page. Perhaps you are NOT using Google Sites? Above code gives me a single line but no drop down arrow.
Could you post your relevant code please ?, It's working for me on firefox (slightly differently), chrome & safari. (see screen cap when I click the selector, SetVisibleItemCount is 1)

EDIT : One important point : to get the list acting as a dropdown list you have to choose 'disable multiple selection', in other words : createListBox(false) or no parameter... but not 'true' as it is in your code !! (now we know why it doesn't work in your case ;-)
With this parameter set to false , it works as expected in standalone webapp, embedded on site and linked to spreadsheet without any difference.
Don't call:
setVisibleItemCount
at all.
I recently started another thread without an account, so I'm reposting the question here with an account so I can edit current links to the program so other users can follow this. I have also updated the code below. Here is my original question:
I read the other post here on Outlineviews and DND, but I can't get my program to work. At the bottom of this post is a link to a zip of my project. Its very basic with only an outlineview and button. I want it to receive text files being dropped on it, but something is wrong with my code or connections. I tried following Apple's example code of their NSOutline Drag and Drop, but I'm missing something. 1 difference is my program is a document based program and their example isn't. I set the File's Owner to receive delegate actions, since that's where my code to handle drag and drop is, as well as a button action. You're not responding to NSOutlineView's drag-validation message.
Your original code implemented tableView:validateDrop:proposedRow:proposedChildIndex:. As I pointed out on that question, that's wrong when your table view is an outline view; NSOutlineView will not send a table-view drag-validation message, only an outline-view drag validation message.
You've since changed your drag-validation method to be declared like so:

validateDrop:(id <NSDraggingInfo>)info
proposedRow:(int)row
proposedChildIndex:(NSInteger)index
But nothing actually sends such a message.
Remember that NSOutlineView rarely deals with row indexes, since those can change as parent rows are expanded and collapsed. It deals instead with “items”, which are generally model objects.
Therefore, the correct validation method is:
- (NSDragOperation)outlineView:(NSOutlineView*)view
validateDrop:(id <NSDraggingInfo>)info
proposedItem:(id)item
proposedChildIndex:(NSInteger)index
Notice the name of the third component of the selector, and the type and name of the argument that goes with it.
With this change applied, your data source validates drops.
