I was looking for a way to sort lines in Geany.
Then found the solution below.
I found the answer on http://crunchbang.org/forums/viewtopic.php?id=24607
From the menu bar, select Edit - Format - Send Selection to - Set Custom Commands.
Click the Add button in the Set Custom Commands window.
Enter sort in the command field, enter sort or a name to your liking in the label field, and then click the OK button.
Select the text that you want to sort.
Right-click on the selected text and select Format - Send Selection to - sort to sort the selected text.

There is currently a form, suppose there are two labels, I want to have a field with a value for the label ex2 to appear, if not, hide the label ex2.
Is there a place to set it?
After I tried, the tab still visible...
In the Designer :
In the Client :
To hide a TAB you simply hide its contents. If you e.g. would want to hide ex2 you would select the complete content of the tab", open the text properties (Alt + Enter) and enter something like:
HideEx2 = "Yes"
in the hide- when formula. Then the tab will disappear as soon as the field "HideEx2" gets the value "Yes".
Take care: Hide whens are NOT calculated "automatically". If your Hide- When depends on the value of an option or checkbox field you need to check the mark "Refresh fields on keyword change" in the field properties of the HideEx2- field.
Otherwise your user needs to press F5 or save the document to make the tab appear / disappear
If there are Tables in the tab, then you need to do three steps:
select everything before the table (red BEFORE in the screenshot), set the hide- when
select all cells of the table, set the hide when
and at last select the text after the table (red AFTER in the screenshot) and hide it.
3 different selections, 3 times setting the checkmark, 3 times inserting the hide when! You CAN'T do it in one step, it's not possible to select a table AND its surronding and set the hide when for everything at once. You can select it, but hide when will only be set for some of the stuff.
If there is one single line that is not hidden in the tab, then it will be visible.
My goal is to Programmatically select items from the List of the combo box, but without updating the edit control. The same can be achieved with the mouse. E.g. when you drop down and hover an item from the list, that item is highlited. And that is all. If you want to select in it the combo box (e.g. move it to the edit control) - you must click on the LisBox.
I tried with CB_SELECTSTRING. But it automatically updates the ComboBox edit control with the selected text which is not what I want. I want to do this using raw Win32 or VB6
Thanks
There is a big difference between highlighting an item in the drop-down list and actually selecting an item to make it active. CB_SELECTSTRING selects an item, as its name implies. But there is no official ComboBox API to highlight an item, though.
However, you can display the drop-down list manually (CB_SHOWDROPDOWN), and either:
move the mouse over the desired item so the list can perform hot-tracking logic.
manipulate the list directly. Use CB_GETCOMBOBOXINFO or GetComboBoxInfo() to get the list's HWND, and then send LB_SETCURSEL to it.
How do you select an item from a list in finalescript?
I would like to transpose a certain piece of music by a perfect fifth without opening the dialog box. I know how to set radio buttons and type text, but how do you select a value from a dropdown list?
My code so far:
menu item "Utilities/Transpose..."
select "Perfect Fifth" from list //Does not work
press "OK"
Ah, I found it.
From the documentation:
Selecting an item from a List
FinaleScript supports selecting from simple text-only lists. Simple
lists can be found in the Measure Number Regions dialog box,
Preferences dialog box, or Document Options dialog box.
Note that most of Finale lists are not supported directly by
FinaleScript, including the following dialog boxes:Expression
Selection, Percussion Layout Selection, Articulation Selection, and
ScoreManager. The following commands are equivalent:
select list "display colors"
list "display colors"
So, the code would be
menu item "Utilities/Transpose..."
select list "Perfect Fifth"
press "OK"
I am very new to SSRS. Infact this is my 2nd report.So in SSRS, I went to Interactive Sorting and checked the "Enable interactive sort on this text box". Chose the first radio button "Detail rows".For sort by I chose "ColumnName" and clicked ok. I ended up with a sort icon on every value .The data here may seem duplicate but it is correct. I have additional 6 columns apart from this "Product" column. I repeated the sort action for all columns same way, the only difference being the different "Sort by" column. I get the icon on all columns in all rows. I want it on the header only.
Apart from that I get this warning 6 times :[rsIneffectiveSortExpressionScope] The text box ‘ColumnName’ is defined at the scope “Details”, which is identical to the scope used as SortExpressionScope. This interactive sort has no effect at runtime, since it sorts only the particular instance itself.
What is that i am doing wrong ?and what should i do to correct it?
Rt click on the textbox with the Column Name, click on
Interactive Sorting
then Check
Enable Interactive Sorting on this textbox
and then select the appropriate group you want to sort.
AFTER EDIT
if you dont have any groups yet, just select Details Row. If you have/create any group, then you need to select the radio button Group.
The sort by will actually have the column you want to sort with.
The default value for the first item in a drop down list is the name of the database field. I need to change it to a more user friendly name. How do I change the value?
add a HTML Item onto the prompt page and add the following as an HTML item:
Example:
<script>
document.formWarpRequest._oLstChoicesMyList[0].text = '--SELECT A CITY--';
</script>
Replace 'MyList' with the name of the component.

In Cognos 10, you can specify prompt text of your choice in Report Studio.
Select the value prompt
In Properties pane, under 'Prompt Text' section, the 'Header Text' property will be set to Automatic. Click the ellipsis button next to it and Header Text Dialogue opens.
Select 'Specified Text' choice. Click ellipsis.
Provide the text of your choice and click ok.
Run the report and you will see text that you provided will appear as first item in the drop down list.
I have provided a Screen shot for a better understanding.
You have a couple of options. First, you can rename the data item's name from database field name to a more friendly name in the Framework Manager metadata.
Second, you can rename the item in Report Studio. However, if you do this you will notice that it is still using the database name. You actually need to perform a calculation in the item expression for it to use your name instead of the default name. So say you are pulling in the string field [Namespace].[Unfriendly Name] and you named your report data item "Friendly Name." The top selection will still read "Unfriendly Name." However, if you replace the data item with the following:
[Namespace].[Unfriendly Name] || ''
It will see that there is a calculation involved and use your friendly name. In the case of a number field you have to add zero instead of concatenating ''.
This is also the case with report column headers (which you can replace with text instead of using this calculation method).
Convoluted? Yes.
Within the dataitem in the query.. you could do a ..
IF ( [dataitemA] = 'some text' ) THEN
( 'new text' )
ELSE
( [dataitemA] )
i try to avoid using javascript and html items becuase they dont generally work in pdf or excel outputs.
just a thought..
cheers!
