JDBC Driver Not Found error in Crystal Reports - jdbc

Crystal Reports 2013. Using Informix JDBC drive ifxjdbc.jar. Report was working before
Situation:
CRConfig.xml was edited so following was in Classpath:
C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\java/lib/ifxjdbc.jar
and connection info edited:
<JDBCURL>jdbc:informix-sqli://xxx.yyy.local:50001/xxx:informixserver=xxx_ol</JDBCURL>
<JDBCClassName>com.informix.jdbc.IfxDriver</JDBCClassName>
<JDBCUserName>billy</JDBCUserName>
ifxjdbc.jar placed in the above directory listed in (1).
Get the JDBC driver not found error. Why do I get this error? I entered the path above like in the other entries--I also tried putting the ifxjdbc.jar in a simple directory like c:\myfolder\ifxjdbc.jar , and entering it just like that in the CLASSPATH. No joy.
Any ideas what the problem is?
Thanks!

Either the path is wrong, and you're assuming incorrectly, OR the class name is incorrect.
That path could be a problem because it has spaces in it. Did you surround it with double quotes to let the JVM know that is shouldn't stop reading between "Program" and "Files"?

Customer had saved ifxjdbc.jar as ifxjdbc.jar.txt . File extension visibility was turned off in Windows, so looked like ifxjdbc.jar. So it was read as a text file. D'oh!
Works fine now.

psqlodbc driver not found on heroku despite being in my app directory

I am trying to get RODBC to work on heroku. I have a rails app that calls an R script from RinRuby, which then queries the production database in order to do some analysis. It all works fine on my local Mac, so I thought the best approach was to use the binary compiled on my Max (psqlodbcw.so) into my repo, and reference it in production as well. Unfortunately, when I try to make the connection in production using this connection string:
> library(RODBC)
> dbhandle <- odbcDriverConnect('driver=./psqlodbcw.so;database=nw_server_production;trusted_connection=true;uid=nw_server')
Warning messages:
1: In odbcDriverConnect("driver=./psqlodbcw.so;database=<db_name>;trusted_connection=true;uid=<user>") :
[RODBC] ERROR: state 01000, code 0, message [unixODBC][Driver Manager]Can't open lib './psqlodbcw.so' : file not found
2: In odbcDriverConnect("driver=./psqlodbcw.so;database=<db_name>;trusted_connection=true;uid=<user>?") :
ODBC connection failed
I have seen this error in a similar post online here, but using SQL server instead of postgres. But the accepted answer on that post doesn't explain why the file isn't found, despite being in the app directory. I did follow the same approach and made my own custom buildpack (available here: https://github.com/NovaWulf/r-rodbc-buildpack). I replaced the .so file with the one I compiled on my mac, and simply deleted the .rll file and the code that copies it, since I don't have that file (and hopefully don't need it for psqlodbc?). When I run that buildpack it runs without error on heroku, but then when I reference the .so file copied from the buildpack, I get the same "file not found" error.
Is this happening because the .so file was compiled on the wrong system architecture? I tried compiling psqlodbc on linux, but I do not get a psqlodbcq.so file when I do that (let alone an .rll file). The closest thing I get is a file called libodbcpsqlS.so, which is a setup file, not a driver file.
Could someone please help me understand the best approach to this problem? Why is heroku not seeing the file that is not there? And what is the best solution? Is there a simple way to just download the correct driver file somewhere?
Any help is much appreciated!
Best,
Paul

Error in task sequence failure: "Incorrect function: Error 00000001; Source: Windows"

I am receiving the above error when running the task sequence and it is failing on the step that is in the picture I provided. Does anyone have any ideas on why? I know the error is very generic, and I have tried several things to address it - I checked the box to disable 64-bit, I made sure that the package containing the batch file was referenced in that step, etc. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, I am very much a noob when it comes to SCCM. Thank you.
Could you post the SMSTS.log saved in C:\Windows\CCM ?
It should contain the reason why this is failing
While looking at your TS, It could be that using a working folder with UNC paths fail the TS because CMD does not support running UNC paths out of the box.
Try adding cmd /c at the start of the Command Line field. It's quirky, but has often fixed my issues.

Verpatch.exe error

I am trying to add new version resource string to .exe file using verpatch.
I need to add new sting to version resource as I am creating test connector to Qlikview. For QlikView and Qlik Sense to be able to recognize an .exe file as a connector, the file version information resource must include the property “QlikView Connector”.
I am developing my connector with Visual Studio and this command is run as a post build command and build ends with error. I also tried to run it from command line with same result:
C:\verpatch>verpatch.exe C:\QV_temp\QVTestConnector.exe /s "QlikView Connector" "Qv Test Connector"
Exception in ParseBinaryVersionResource
Error in ParseBinaryVersionResource
error parsing version info from the file
Some of actions failed, exiting
I have also tried different versions on verpatch.exe. Any ideas?
The example that Qlik gives on their documentation does not seem to work with the version of verpatch.exe that ships with QVX SDK 2.1.
I resolved this error by updating to a newer version from CodePlex.
Edit:
verpatch seems to have moved to https://github.com/pavel-a/ddverpatch/releases
Please see documentation. After /s should go "description".
If it has problem reading existing version resource, try to rewrite it completely with /va. So, do something like:
verpatch your.exe 1.0.0.0 /va /s desc "QlikView Connector" /s product "Qv Test Connector"
If you can share the problematic exe with the author of verpatch (on Codeplex), he may provide a fix.
I couldn't set properties on my executable with any version of verpatch - because I had a different codepage in the resource strings.
I would recommend rather using the Python package pe-tools (PyPI), which has a nicely documented command peresed that does this (docs).
You can also set specific version-info fields or set resource entries to the contents of a file:
peresed filename.exe -V "QlikView Connector=Qv Test Connector"
I have run this command successfully, but not verified whether the properties were set - but other properties like FileDescription are set correctly.

SQR 5543 error. Report arguments in sqrw

I am trying to run SQRW and it asks for report arguments.
I entered -ZIF"path to my pssqr.ini" (without the quotes)
once I hit OK I get the error (SQR 5543) Specify the Oracle DLL name in the SQR.INI file in [Environment:Oracle] section for ORACE_DLL entry, such as
ORACLE_DLL=orant71.dll
I tried to add the oracle dll bin path to my search path and I also tried added that ORACLE_DLL= to the pssqr.ini file. Neither worked but i'm not even sure which dll file I should get. There is nothing like orant71.dll in my oracle bin directory.
Which dll file do I use if i have oracle 11?
Are there any other suggestion of what I can do or what is wrong?
In case anyone else runs into this problem, I fixed it by installing Oracle 10g rather than 11g. This fixed it, I don't know why though.

VS2010 DB Project Deploy Error SQL01268 Directory Lookup Failed

My VS2010 database deploy is failing on my build server, which has SQL Server 2008 R2 installed on it. Here's the output that's relevant:
Creating Acme.Database...
D:\TeamCity\BuildAgent\Work\da2fc5ebd5805d44\src\Acme.Database\sql\Acme.Database.sql(30,0): Error SQL01268: .Net SqlClient Data Provider: Msg 5133, Level 16, State 1, Line 1 Directory lookup for the file "C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server**MSSQL10.MSSQLSERVER**\MSSQL\DATA\Acme_Database_log.ldf" failed with the operating system error 3(The system cannot find the path specified.).
D:\TeamCity\BuildAgent\Work\da2fc5ebd5805d44\src\Acme.Database\sql\Acme.Database.sql(30,0): Error SQL01268: .Net SqlClient Data Provider: Msg 1802, Level 16, State 1, Line 1 CREATE DATABASE failed. Some file names listed could not be created. Check related errors.
An error occurred while the batch was being executed.
The actual path is here:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server**MSSQL10_50.MSSQLSERVER**\MSSQL\DATA\Acme_Database.mdf
The only reference to the path I could find in the database project was in the root folder, a file called:
PRIMARY.Acme_Database.sqlfile.sql
It includes an ALTER DATABASE statement that I changed to use the _50 path, but this did not fix the issue.
I'm not sure why the db project needs to know where the actual database MDF file is located in any case - I would have thought it could just connect to it vis TSQL, but in any case I can't get the project to deploy with this error and would appreciate any help.
Turns out if you specify a "file" in Schema Objects\Database Level Objects\Storage\Files (use Add Item, File) the values specified in the path override those looked up from the Server. If you must specify them use the variables from sqlcmdvariables $(DefaultdataPath)$(Databasename) to fill things out.
Take a look at the default file path on the server itself.

The fact that you don't have a path specified could likely be the issue.
[Update]
The reason I suggest this is that during the creation of the deployment script, if you have not specified the settings in the Project Settings -> Deployment tab, the DefaultDataPath is looked up from the target server's path.
I don't know anything about TeamCity really so this may be a stupid question, but how are you doing the deployment? It looks like the MSBuild deploy task for a DB project can take a property that gives the data path:
http://www.codewrecks.com/blog/index.php/2009/10/06/deploy-a-database-project-with-tfs-build/
Can you set the path that way?
I had the same error, but a different solution.
For me everything was correct (as far as I can tell), but the generated deploy script set the path variables before the databasename variable - resulting in a reference to a variable that did not exist. I updated Database.sqlcmdvars to hardcode the database name value - not best practice, but a sufficient workaround for my needs.
