MAMP Pro 3 "The installation failed." - installation

I have just purchased an upgrade to MAMP Pro 3, downloaded the file (
MAMP_MAMP_PRO_3.0.5.pkg) and continued on to the Install. Unfortunately after three attempts I'm unable to complete the instal, the files are written and at the end I get an error msg:
The installation failed. The installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for
assistance.
(need to work on my reputation before I can post a screen grab unfortunately)
Has anyone else had this issue? and how did you get it resolved?

I know this question was raised some time ago, but I faced the same problem days ago where I could not install MAMP on my Mac and the "Installation Failed" got me nervous.
It turned out the file I had downloaded was corrupted. I downloaded it again and this time I checked its SHA-1 checksum to assure it was the same as in the website. Indeed, it was and the installation therefore went smoothly.
To check checksums on Windows, I used the File Checksum Integrity Verifier which can be downloaded from Microsoft (tiny file).
For Mac, there are commands to run in the console. I don't have them at hand, otherwise I'd add them here.

Windows SDK | Invalid character in 'Wndows Kit' folder path

I'm getting an error when installing a more recent version of the Windows Software Development Kit on my computer.
Each time I'm trying to install it (wherever it's, my B:\ drive or C:\PROGRA~X) I get that error (at 33% of the "installation"):
An error occurred while installing Windows Performance Toolkit. Log.
The folder path 'Windows Toolkit' contains an invalid character.
Review the setup log files, or contact your system administrator.
So I then decided to login in an other user (and install in it's program folder), and it didn't worked.
I checked the logs and it simply says that there's an invalid character somewhere but there's no more details.
Here is the log files given by the installation program to check the reason of the error (pastebin).
(Also note that in the logs you'll be able to see references to D:\Windows Kits\10\ which is weird as I actually don't have any storage devices associated to D, but I had one before).
I also tried to simply uncheck Windows Performance Toolkit in the installation settings (it's the 1st one) but it didn't worked as it will simply display the same error with the next Toolkit to be installed (and the error still displays at exactly 33% of installation).
Is there any known solutions to solve that problem ?
There's probably a registry key which contains an invalid character due to some reasons but I don't know which one it could be if it was the case...
I really need to install the Windows SDK and then install the WDK, and I don't really want to reset my OS for that.
If you need more information or details about something concerning my system I'll provide them.
I also encountered this problem.
By checking the log, I found that this problem is caused by the string in the registry.
Search in the registry and delete this field.
That's how I solved it. enter image description here

How do I fix "Error 1001. Absolute path information is required."?

I'm trying to install an Excel plugin for a customer and get the error
"Error 1001. Absolute path information is required"
The plugin installs fine on my own computer, but I suspect that the customer system admin might have some setting preventing a correct installation - even though they wont admit it or know it!
I suspect that it is some kind of regedit protection- can anyone confirm or deconfirm this?
The installation is on Windows 10.
P.S. I have filed a bug-report with the vendor, but it might take a while for a reply - and it works fine on my computer.

Arelle software not installing

I am attempting to install the Arelle XBRL software and these are the steps I am following.
Download the Windows 64 bit version from http://arelle.org/pub/applications/
Double click on installer
As soon as I click the installer I get an NSIS Error message depicted below.
What I have tried:
E-mailing the Arelle support dept but they don't seem to answer at all
Searched for a solution
The most common solution I have found was to run the installer from the command prompt with the below syntax. This seems to have worked for many people but I am still getting the exact same error.
"C:\Users\MyPc\Desktop\arelle-win-x64-2019-07-24.exe" /NCRC
This problem has existed for weeks and it doesn't make sense as Arelle is a widely used program for use with XBRL and many people have downloaded it.
Disk checks and various error checks are being done frequently by the company's administrator so computer maintenance is always occurring.
Any ideas?
I've had the same issue, I've downloaded installer from another computer and another net, run it on computer where was issue, and it works.

capto update download fails

I get the following error Connection to the remote server was lost. Please check your Internet connection. (-1997)
Anybody know how I can get around this (I don't have problems with anything else)
macbook pro macos sierra
I had the same problem while trying to upgrade to v1.2.3 just now. The download failed just as it completed; I suspect something couldn't or wouldn't be written to disc. I tried downloading from within Capto four times before I gave up.
What I wound up doing was downloading the trial version of v1.2.3 (available at the Capto website) and running it. It recognized my license and automagically turned into the full version, so all was (and is) well. Capto also reports that it's now up to date.
I'm not sure what was wrong here, but I've never seen that error before. I also haven't been able to find out exactly what the error number indicates. It doesn't seem to have been on anybody's list before 2015, so maybe it's an El Capitan (and, probably, Sierra) thing.

sliksvn displays popup, "There is no disk in the drive"

Problem:
I use the SlikSVN command line client and Windows 8.1 machine. When I type svn update in any folder, a message box appears that says, "There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive F:" I cannot stop or explain why sliksvn pops up this message.
Screenshot:
Question: Do you know what might cause this?
More details:
After pressing Continue a couple times, it finally does the update.
It happens for svn update and checkout, but not for svn status and info.
I have tried clearing my SVN credentials.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling SlikSVN.
I do a custom install and only install the client and tools.
I have not noticed that it happens for any other program.
My computer is just a few weeks old.
My F: drive corresponds to an SD port on my computer. I have never used that SD port before.
My SlikSVN version is version 1.8.5-SlikSvn-1.8.5-X64 (SlikSvn/1.8.5) X64 compiled Nov 30 2013, 17:17:43 on x86_64-microsoft-windows6.2.9200
I reported this using the contact form on the SlikSVN website, but have not received a response yet.
I just checked the SlikSVN site again. On January 18, they uploaded a new version, 1.8.5-1. I did the following:
Uninstalled version 1.8.5
Deleted my AppData\Roaming\Subversion folder
Installed version 1.8.5-1
I no longer get the annoying popup message about drive F:.
As best I can tell, version 1.8.5-1 fixed the problem.
Do you have a removable USB?
Is it labelled C:\?
Microsoft doesn't like it
