Magento - Auto set base, small and thumbnail on upload - magento

Morning,
We have literally searched all over Stackoverflow and Google to find this solutions but still don't have the right answer.
We're trying to auto-set the Base, Small and Thumbnail options on the first uploaded image, so when uploading multiple images the first image will always have all three options checked.
If anyone has tried and succeeded with find this answer and advice, Thank you.

It is very easy. Example's here. Replace in root/js/mage/adminhtml/product.js in the end of handleUploadComplete around 120 row code
this.container.setHasChanges();
this.updateImages();
},
updateImages : function() {
with
this.container.setHasChanges();
this.updateImages();
$$('tr#media_gallery_content-image-1 td.cell-image.a-center input')[0].setAttribute('checked','checked');
$$('tr#media_gallery_content-image-1 td.cell-small_image.a-center input')[0].setAttribute('checked','checked');
$$('tr#media_gallery_content-image-1 td.cell-thumbnail.a-center input')[0].setAttribute('checked','checked');
},
updateImages : function() {
And enjoy autoselect first image after upload

If you have already uploaded your images and need to set the first one as thumb/base/small try the sql command in this post:
Just follow the instructions given by stereo_world and nhahtdh and then refresh your cache.

Thanks to Fabian and Doug for the groundwork. I just published an extension, which does exactly what you are trying to achieve in a clean way: https://github.com/customgento/CustomGento_AutoSelectImages
It simply adds a JS file on the admin product edit page. In the JS file, the mentioned method Product.Gallery.createImageRow is wrapped, so that the radio buttons can be selected after the first image has been uploaded. Here is the JS "magic":
if (typeof Product.Gallery !== 'undefined') {
Product.Gallery.prototype.createImageRow = Product.Gallery.prototype.createImageRow.wrap(function (parentMethod, image) {
// first call the parent method
parentMethod(image);
// auto-select the radio buttons for the first uploaded image
$H(this.imageTypes).each(function (pair) {
if (this.images.length === 1) {
this.getFileElement(image.file, 'cell-' + pair.key + ' input').checked = true;
}
}.bind(this));
this.setProductImages(image.file);
});
}

Fancybox 2 not showing when calling .open()

I'm trying to rig up a Knockout binding for Fancybox (although I don't think that's too much involved here). I'm calling Fancybox based on the code from the sample here: http://jsfiddle.net/STgGM/
$.fancybox.open([{
href: value.image(),
title: value.title()
}], {
padding: 0
});
The object passed in looks like:
{href: "http://example.com/imageurl", title: "Image Title"}
Stepping through the fancybox code, it bails out of trying to show the image around line 855 of the script:
if (!type) {
F.coming = null;
//If we can not determine content type then drop silently or display next/prev item if looping through gallery
if (F.current && F.router && F.router !== 'jumpto') {
F.current.index = index;
return F[ F.router ]( F.direction );
}
return false;
}
I'm not entirely sure what it's looking for at this point. F.current is null and F.router doesn't exist on the object.
So, in short, I'm trying to trigger Fancybox from a link click, without modifying my markup that much, or calling .fancybox() on a particular element. This appears to be possible, but it doesn't appear to be working for me.
After digging through the code more, I eventually found the solution. Fancybox was trying to figure out what sort of content I was telling it to display by inspecting the URL I was giving it. As my URL had no extension, since it was coming from an external service that uses and ID to access an image, and not a full file name, Fancybox had no clue what I was telling it to display, and gave up.
The solution, since I know what the content is, is this:
$.fancybox.open({
href: value.image(),
title: value.title(),
type: 'image'
},//other stuff (not relevant to this)
This makes FancyBox work as expected.

Drupal Node Forms - Image field: How to directly upload an image after choosing a file (no need to click upload button)

I'm trying to change the default behavior of Drupal when adding an image through image field on a content type.
When you choose an image to assign to a node, it's not directly uploaded. You also need to click "upload" to display the preview of your image, and this is not really user friendly.
How can I change this (programmatically) to make Drupal start uploading directly the image after choosing the file.
Thank you for help
You can do it this way:
(function ($) {
Drupal.behaviors.autoUpload = {
attach: function(context, settings) {
$('.form-item input.form-submit[value=Upload]', context).hide();
$('.form-item input.form-file', context).change(function() {
$parent = $(this).closest('.form-item');
setTimeout(function() {
if(!$('.error', $parent).length) {
$('input.form-submit[value=Upload]', $parent).mousedown();
}
}, 100);
});
$('.form-item input.form-submit[value=Transférer]', context).hide();
$('.form-item input.form-file', context).change(function() {
$parent = $(this).closest('.form-item');
setTimeout(function() {
if(!$('.error', $parent).length) {
$('input.form-submit[value=Transférer]', $parent).mousedown();
}
}, 100);
});
}
};
})(jQuery);
This solution works with either english and french browsers. Unlike AutoUpload module, which only works on browsers configured in english. Note the [value=Upload] / [value=Upload] attribute
I found a similar post:
https://drupal.stackexchange.com/questions/31121/how-can-i-automatically-upload-images-on-file-selection-rather-than-pressing-the
It's exactly what I need..
You should be able to use http://drupal.org/project/imce for your needs.
I am not sure about the Image field but when I encountered this issue I decided letting users add images in body since it is a much easier option for durpal - When inserting images in text They will show immediately .
IMCE + filefield seems like a viable option for your direct needs,They do mention AJAX support.

Linking Directly to a Tab using Prototype

I'm using Magento to build a storefront - I'm not used to Prototype, but that's what they use by default, so I'm trying to play nice. I have used the tabs setup provided in the Modern theme (built by the Magento team), and I've integrated it into my theme and it works great.
Where I need help is in directly linking to a specific tab - I've created a tab to house the product reviews, and that works fine, but there are links higher up on the page that link to reviews - however, they are linking to another page, which I would rather not use. I'm not familiar with the prototype being used, and I don't know what the link would look like to link to the tab - I'd like the experience to be something similar to:
1) Click on the link
2) The reviews tab opens and the page moves you down to it - like a run-of-the-mill anchor.
The href value of the tab is simply:
javascript:void(0);
The javascript that runs the operation is this:
Varien.Tabs = Class.create();
Varien.Tabs.prototype = {
initialize: function(selector) {
var self=this;
$$(selector+' a').each(this.initTab.bind(this));
},
initTab: function(el) {
el.href = 'javascript:void(0)';
if ($(el.parentNode).hasClassName('active')) {
this.showContent(el);
}
el.observe('click', this.showContent.bind(this, el));
},
showContent: function(a) {
var li = $(a.parentNode), ul = $(li.parentNode);
ul.select('li', 'ol').each(function(el){
var contents = $(el.id+'_contents');
if (el==li) {
el.addClassName('active');
contents.show();
} else {
el.removeClassName('active');
contents.hide();
}
});
}
}
new Varien.Tabs('.product-tabs');
My guess is that I need to invoke the showContent function and just force it to use the reviews tab, but I'm not quite sure how to do this. If anyone could shed some light on it, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks.
Not entirely the right answer, ie it cheats a bit, but we solved this by using jQuery's 'click()' function to simulate the tab click.
ie
Gave the reviews tab title anchor an id of 'tab-reviews-tab' and in our link at the top of the page added the following JS:
jQuery('#tab-reviews-tab').click();
Obviously it would be silly to include jQuery just for this, but if you're using it for something else already, sticking to what you know can work!
If someone is still interested in a solution, here is a hint to the same question:
souce link http://www.magentocommerce.com/boards/viewthread/59930/#t262411
Hope this can help u.
The answer to your question is on gist and ipaste.
Here's this summary:
You need to save the Varien.Tabs object in a var so replace the new Varien.Tabs('.product-tabs'); with var csTabs = new Varien.Tabs('.product-tabs');
If you are only doing this one time just create link as such:
<a href="#" onclick="javascript:csTabs.showContent($$('#product_tabs_email_or_other_id a')[0]);" >The Link</a>
If you expect to do this often just add a new method to the Varien.Tabs (at line 75)
openTab: function(b) {
var controlledLink = $$("#"+b+" a")[0];
this.showContent(controlledLink);
}
Now your links work like this:

How to make full CKEditor re-initialization?

Please help me - I need to make full re-initialization of CKeditor. I don't want to make re-initialization of instances of CKeditor, but I want fully reload it. Is there any way to implement it?
I tried to made next:
delete window.CKEDITOR;
and then:
//clear for old sources
$('script[src*="/includes/contentEditor/ckeditor/"]').each(function() {
$(this).remove();
});
$('link[href*="/includes/contentEditor/ckeditor/"]').each(function() {
$(this).remove();
});
//load CKeditor again
contentEditor.loadjscssfile('/includes/contentEditor/ckeditor/ckeditor.js', 'js');
contentEditor.loadjscssfile('/includes/contentEditor/ckeditor/adapters/jquery.js', 'js');
My method loads editor but some plugins does not work after reloading. Thanks for any help!
I have plugins and I don't need to fully reinitialize CKEditor either, just instances, are you doing it properly?
To remove my instance (my textarea is referenced by ID txt_postMsg):
$('#btn_cancelPost').click(function(){
CKEDITOR.remove(CKEDITOR.instances.txt_postMsg);
$('#txt_postMsg').remove();
$('#cke_txt_postMsg').remove();
});
Then I re-create the textarea, and after a 50ms timeout I call the constructor with the textarea again, plugins reload fine. We have some pretty complex plugins for flash/image editing so maybe there's an issue with your plugin?
My version:
$$("textarea._cke").each(function(Z) {
if (typeof(CKEDITOR.instances[Z.id]) == 'undefined') {
CKEDITOR.replace(Z.id, { customConfig : "yourconfig.js"});
} else {
CKEDITOR.instances[Z.id].destroy(true);
CKEDITOR.replace(Z.id, { customConfig : "yourconfig.js"});
}
});
try something like
for(var instanceName in CKEDITOR.instances)
CKEDITOR.remove(CKEDITOR.instances[instanceName]);
CKEDITOR.replaceAll();
AlfonsoML
I use CKeditor for dynamically edit different part of site. When I click on some area of the site it shows popup with CKeditor with content of this area above this area. When I save it I destroy instance of this editor, but if while editing I use link plugin CKeditor can't show editor without page refreshing. Chrome says - Uncaught TypeError: Cannot call method 'split' of undefined, Mozilla - x.config.skin is undefined(I try to set config.skin and it show another error - z is undefined).
I hope the full re-init can help.
P.S. Sorry I can find how to answer on your comment...
I've been looking for a way to re-initialize the editor and the only solution that I end up is to delete the instance and create a new ID.
Here's my code.
var editor = 'myeditor'
var instance = CKEDITOR.instances[editor];
if(typeof instance != 'undefined')
{
instance.destroy();
$(".cke_editor_" + editor).remove();
//make a new id
editor = (Math.random().toString(36).substr(2, 10););
}
CKEDITOR.replace(editor,
{
}
It's not perfect but it works.
Hope this helps.
This is my solution:
var editor = CKEDITOR.instances[your_ckeditor_id];
editor.mode = 'source';
editor.setMode('wysiwyg');
OR
var editor = CKEDITOR.instances[your_ckeditor_id];
editor.setData(editor.getData());

jQuery Functions need to run again after ajax is complete

I am developing a website that parses rss feeds and displays them based on category. You can view it here: http://vitaminjdesign.com/adrian
I am using tabs to display each category. The tabs use ajax to display a new set of feeds when they are clicked.
I am also using two other scripts- One called equalheights, which re-sizes all of the heights to that of the tallest item. And the other script I am using is called smart columns, which basically resize your columns so it always fills the screen.
The first problem I am having is when you click a new tab (to display feeds within that category). When a new tab is clicked, the console shows a jQuery error:
$(".block").equalHeights is not a function
[Break On This Error] $(".block").equalHeights();
The main problem is that each feed box fills up the entire screen's width (after you click on a tab), even if there are multiple feed boxes in that category.
MY GUESS - although all of the feeds (across all tabs) are loaded on pageload, when a new tab is selected, both jQuery scripts need to be run again. any ideas on how I can make this work properly?
One thing to note - I used the ajaxSuccess method for making equalHeights work on the first page...but it wont work after a tab is clicked.
My jQuery code for the tabs are below:
$(".tab_content").hide(); //Hide all content
$("ul.tabs li:first").addClass("active").show(); //Activate first tab
$(".tab_content:first").show(); //Show first tab content
$("#cities li:nth-child(1)").addClass('zebra');
$("#column li ul li:nth-child(6)").addClass('zebra1');
//On Click Event
$("ul.tabs li").click(function() {
$("ul.tabs li").removeClass("active"); //Remove any "active" class
$(this).addClass("active"); //Add "active" class to selected tab
$(".tab_content").hide(); //Hide all tab content
var activeTab = $(this).find("a").attr("href"); //Find the href attribute value to identify the active tab + content
$(activeTab).fadeIn(); //Fade in the active ID content
$(".block").equalHeights();
return false;
});
Thanks to Macy (see answer below), I have brought my jQuery script to the following: (still does not work)
$(document).ajaxSuccess(function(){
var script = document.createElement('script');
script.src = 'js/equalHeight.js';
document.body.appendChild(script);
equalHeight($(".block"));
I found some small problems in your code. I am not sure that my suggestions will solve all the problems, but I decide to describe my first results here.
1) You should remove comma before the '}'. Currently the call look like $("#column").sortable({/**/,});
2) The function equalHeight is not jQuery plugin. It is the reason why the call $(".block").equalHeights(); inside your 'click' event handler follows to the error "$(".block").equalHeights is not a function" which you described. You should change the place of the code to equalHeight($(".block")); like you use it on other places.
3) The script http://vitaminjdesign.com/adrian/js/equalHeight.js defines the function equalHeight only and not start any actions. Once be loaded it stay on the page. So you should not load it at the end of every ajax request. So I suggest to reduce the script
$(document).ajaxSuccess(function(){
var script = document.createElement('script');
script.src = 'http://vitaminjdesign.com/adrian/js/equalHeight.js';
document.body.appendChild(script);
equalHeight($(".block"));
$("a[href^='http:']:not([href*='" + window.location.host + "'])").each(function() {
$(this).attr("target", "_blank");
});
});
to
$(document).ajaxSuccess(function(){
equalHeight($(".block"));
$("a[href^='http:']:not([href*='" + window.location.host + "'])").each(function() {
$(this).attr("target", "_blank");
});
});
4) I suggest to change the code of http://vitaminjdesign.com/adrian/js/equalHeight.js from
function equalHeight(group) {
tallest = 0;
group.each(function() {
thisHeight = $(this).height();
if(thisHeight > tallest) {
tallest = thisHeight;
}
});
group.height(tallest);
}
to
function equalHeight(group) {
var tallest = 0;
group.each(function() {
var thisHeight = $(this).height();
if(thisHeight > tallest) {
tallest = thisHeight;
}
});
group.height(tallest);
}
to eliminate the usage of global variables tallest and thisHeight. I recommend you to use JSLint to verify all your JavaScript codes. I find it very helpful.
5) I recommend you to use any XHTML validator to find some small but sometime very important errors in the markup. Try this for example to see some errors. The more you follow the XHTML standards the more is the probability to have the same results of the page in different web browsers. By the way, you can dramatically reduce the number of the errors in your current code if the scripts included in the page will be in the following form
<script type="text/javascript">
//<![CDATA[
/* here is the JavaScript code */
//]]>
</script>
I didn't analysed the full code but I hope that my suggestions will solve at least some of problems which you described in your question.
Essentially, when you add a new element to the document, the equalheights script has not attached its behavior to that new element. So, the "quick fix", is probably to re-embed the equalheights script after an ajax request has completed so that it re-attaches itself to all elements on the page, including the elements you just added.
Before this line: $(".block").equalHeights(); , add a line of script which re-embeds/re-runs your equalheights script.
$.getScript('<the location of your equalHeightsScript>');
$.getScript('<the location of your smartColumnsScript>');
$(".block").equalHeights();
or
var script = document.createElement('script');
script.src = '<the location of your script>';
document.body.appendChild(script);
A better solution would be to upgrade the plugin so it takes advantage of live. However, I'm not up to that at the moment :)
Some Error Here
$("ul.tabs li").click(function() {
$("ul.tabs li").removeClass("active"); //Remove any "active" class
$(this).addClass("active"); //Add "active" class to selected tab
$(".tab_content").hide(); //Hide all tab content
.
.
.
});
Should be re-written like this
$("ul.tabs li").click(function() {
$(this).addClass("active").Siblings("li").removeClass("active");; //Remove any "active" class Add "active" class to selected tab
$(".tab_content").hide(); //Hide all tab content
.
.
.
});
I don't think you need to run the scripts again after the ajax, or at least that's not the "main" problem.
You seem to have some problems in the script smartColumn.js
Right now it seems to only operate on the ul with the id "column" ('#column'), and it is working on the one UL#column you do have, but of course your HTML has many other "columns" all of which have the class "column" ('.column') that you want it to work on as well.
Just to get the beginning of what you are trying to do, change all the selectors in smartColumn.js that say 'ul#column' to say 'ul.column' instead, and then alter the HTML so that the first "column" has a class="column" rather than an id="column".
That should solve the 100% wide columns at least.
That should solve your "Main" Problem. But there are other problems.
