Cortana's settings
One advantage of a digital personal assistant is that she won't take it personally if you want to adjust her settings and how she works. You can get to Cortana's settings on your Windows Phone in two ways:
Press the Search Search icon button to go to Cortana, then tap Cortana's NotebookCortana's Notebook icon > Settings.
In the App list, tap Settings Settings Tile, swipe over to Applications, then tap Cortana.
Here's what you can do in Cortana's settings.

In some conditions the Windows 10's game bar opens up with my application (made with Delphi, VCL). Thats not a game and i don't directly use DirectX or OpenGL, but it opens up.
To be specific, when i reduce to tray my app and a popup is opened the Game Bar appears.
I found a numbers of sites with tutorial for totally disable the Windows 10 game bar (like this) but i want to disable for my application only, i don't think users will be happy to have a windows feature silently disabled by my app
Is this possible? I cannot find any documentation about it
You can disable it following this solution :
Press Win+G, click the Gear icon (Settings) and uncheck "Remember this is a game" (https://superuser.com/questions/1086248/windows-10-xbox-dvr-app-thinks-chrome-is-a-game).
Note that if the name of the application is Main.exe, this checkbox is not visible.
If the name of the app is main.exe or anything else, it is visible.
It seems it is stored in the registry : HKEY_CURRENT_USER\System\GameConfigStore\ in the Children and Parents directories.
You can try to find your app using the ExeParentDirectory key.

I don't know if it applies to an executable where Windows decides it is a game (like Main.exe)
My windows Cortona, for some reason, after a while of the computer turning on, cannot activate. I click the ask me anything and it does nothing. The start button also doesn't work. I can open things on the taskbar and everything but just not Cortona and the Start button. This renders me useless when opening other apps! Help!
try to set language of cortana to Uk English in setting
I'm using ARC Welder to test an APK in Chrome (on Windows). It works mostly fine but the app uses an old-style Android menu, opened by either pressing the hardware button on old devices, or touching the "3 vertical dots" soft button on newer ones.
However the ARC window doesn't use a menu button nor does there seem to be a keyboard shortcut to open the menu (not that I could find anyway).
Any ideas?
(Note: I know Google has more or less depricated there old style Android menus. But this is in an old APK).
ARC does not provide a way of simulating an Android menu button. We have thought about providing a button in the window frame, like we do for the back button, but we have not moved forward with it. Feel free to star the bug for it
Ctrl+Windows+Esc (Win key is to prevent Windows opening the Start menu):

Right Alt should work as well but most keyboards lack that key.

I've got a Windows Mobile 5 and i need to hide settings icon
We have employees that don't speak English, and I need the desktop to be very simplified. I just need hide the icon settings beacause got configuration that they cant to move
Here is an application including source code to hide elements from the home screen.
You have to look at the registry at HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Today\Items and set Enabled=0 for the items that should not be shown.
The settings icon is controlled separately by HKLM\Security\Shell\StartInfo:HideSettings registry key.
Although you can hide the settings icon, the user can still access settings using the top bar! To prohibit that you need to code more. See my KIOSK articles at my web blog above.
I have a windows phone 7 app that uses GPS to track user position. Now the user can disable this feature through the phone's setting menu. the app handles this disabling fine and gives them a message. This is all pretty standard windows phone stuff.
My question is whether I can navigate (inside the app) to the settings menu so that the user can enable phone location services? Ideally I would give them a link or a button that they touch and they are then taken out of the app to the settings menu. They would then click 'back' and return to the app.
No, at the moment, there's no way to fire up the Settings menu from inside your app.
Try this:
Windows.System.Launcher.LaunchUriAsync(new Uri(“ms-settings-location:”));
Not sure if it works on WP7 though.
