How to add new (third party) portlets, gadgets into Exo Platform Community Edition? - social-networking

We have installed Exo platform Community Edition.
What are possible ways to add new/third party plugins into Exo Community Edition, and what are dis/advantages of using particular method?

The simplest way is to add your bundles into the corresponding folders (jar to lib, war to webapps), then using Application Management to make these portlets/gadgets visible to add to a page or your Dashboard. More detail is at http://docs.exoplatform.com/PLF41/PLFUserGuide.AdministeringeXoPlatform.ManagingApplications.html.

Are there any legal requirements when deploying code with the youtube api?

We are currently completing a .Net application that uses the YouTube API. The API DLLs are loaded from NuGet packages, all working fine. To be legally on the safe side, do we need to include any further files in our installer, e.g. an API readme or a term license document?
The NuGet packages only provide the DLLs.
Thanks
The Google .net client library is covered under the Apache licence to my knowledge there is nothing that you need to include in your project to use it.

How do I create and distribute a new .NET Core project template?

I've got a custom project template for a .NET Core project that I'd like to make available via dotnet new <templatename>. It was developed using Visual Studio Code on Mac OS X.
This document discusses creating new projects, specifically for ASP.NET Core, but I want to create and distribute a new .NET Core project template that doesn't include ASP.NET. It's just a class library project with some key modifications.
Question: How would I create a package for this purpose and distribute it both privately internally and/or publicly? Is it possible to simply package this up as a NuGet or Yeoman package, or is there some other mechanism I need to use?
UPDATE: Here is the official team blog: https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/dotnet/2017/04/02/how-to-create-your-own-templates-for-dotnet-new/
We currently have the documentation on a gist, but are working on turning it into a team blog soon. I will update here when the blog is posted and public.
For now, you can refer to the gist: https://gist.github.com/sayedihashimi/05741c31ca559f1960bef159a5684988

In VS 2012,How to publish a web application which has more than one class project & third party dll’s?

In VS 2012,How to publish a web application which has more than one class project & third party dll’s?
I am working on Visual Studio 2012 using .Net Framework 4.0, targeting x64
My Web Project Solution has two class projects. One of the class project has a third party dll (Chilkat) for doing the SFTP functionality.
When I deploy the published version web application, do I need to move the third party dll to web bin folder path?
In the server, Third Party dll works fine for .exe version of windows application. But dll doesn’t work, if I move the dll to Inetpub – Web directory.
I am trying to find the solutions to resolve the problem.

Managed DirectX as prerequisites

I am packaging an vb.net application which uses managed DirectX and I am not using vs deployment project etc.
Now, I want to check managed directX 9 C is installed on the client or not. If not download the directX managed from the web. What is the prefered way to do this?
I found the following Microsoft Component Installer Software Development Kit, http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms994369.aspx.And this the latest version I found http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=2a5e4ebc-651c-40aa-9525-1810af47c317&displaylang=en

I am looking for something (bootstrapper) which detect if managed directX is installed or not if not installed, download and install it.
Any idea?
You can just take the mdxredist.msi file from the component installer and trigger it with a normal setup app in visual studio. You can add an msi to your setup project's Prerequisites list by following this:
Adding Custom Prerequisites.
Then you can just right click on your setup project and go to Properties. Click the Prerequisites button, and check your custom prerequisite in the list.
