django-rest-framework: how to allow http PUT to succeed - django-rest-framework

I have a startup django-rest-framework app, which I'm using to serve data to another Django app
I have no issues with GET, POST, and DELETE, but when I issue a PUT - I get 405
What can I do to fix that?

if I'm remembering well, I has the same issue. Following the tutorial of django-rest-framework I noticed that pressing PUT botton request and monitoring network tab of chrome developer tools it did a POST request instead of PUT request.

Maybe '405 METHOD NOT ALLOWED' error message caused by request without '/' at the end of the url.
Not working 127.0.0.1:8000/article/9
Working 127.0.0.1:8000/article/9/
If not, check how you request it. It's similar to request DELETE method.
This is an example I've just testing using PAW http client application

API call returns a response in postman but gives me 403 in browser

ajax call
postman url
console error
Postman returns a response, but browser gives me 403. I have attached my postman request, my ajax call as well as the browser error. Any advice is helpful
You need to pass credentials. follow this link for more information.
I ran into this issue as well. While cedric is right, the Authorization header needs to be specified, another issue can cause this as well. Postman does not include an Origin header in its requests (see: https://stackoverflow.com/a/68380707/1029688). This could cause it to ignore CORS errors that you would normally encounter when making web requests from a browser.

AWS API gateway really works well but I can't run this on javascript AJAX

I made python function using AWS lambda and connected lambda with API Gateway
After then, I tested API. It worked well.
Testing in API Gateway was Successful
Now I tried to using this API with AJAX.
Javascript AJAX Code was like this
How ever result was
"jquery-3.4.1.js:9837 GET https://9i1jhuewmj.execute-api.ap-northeast-2.amazonaws.com/test/transaction?jpgname=image.jpg net::ERR_FAILED"
How can i solve this problem??
Hope for your wisdom!
Thank you
I think there are a few things. The content-type header being returned is application/json but the response is not JSON.
But I think the main problem is that the HTTP status being returned is 301. This tells the browser that this resource has been moved and the browser typically expects the response to contain information on where things are moved to so it can redirect.
I suspect if you change your configuration so that a more normal response code (i.e. 200) is returned, this will work better.

Example of Using AJAX Oauth call from Suitelet to call a restlet

I have been trying this for quite some time and with no avail. Would someone point me to the right direction.
I have a simple suitelet
the suitelet dumps a html in the response by reading a file
The html has a button. On ajax call of that button, a restlet gets called and a request is sent.
This is working great with Login and internal calls. However, I want the suitelet to be available without login and also the restlet.
When I do that, I get CORS error and using jsonp when I relsolve that, I get 401 Unauthorized
Tried Outh and NLAuth, no avail.
Will really appreciate any help or pointers.
If the info isn't sensitive you can call the suitelet from the domain of your website. If you have enabled https on the site then that'll just work
e.g. https://forms.na3.netsuite.com/app/site... becomes http://example.com/app/site...
If you are using SCA then you can also just do this by calling a .ss service function. The nice thing about that is that you can set the role on the .ss file and have better control of your resources without just making the customer center role capable of seeing everything. Same issue with https though.
If the info is sensitive you can get around the issue on most browsers by embedding an iframe at the https:// forms etc and using the onMessage operation to transfer info from the non-secure to the secure. (see https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/Window/postMessage)
It's certainly possible to call a RESTlet from a Suitelet but it sounds like your issue is more how to call the Suitelet securely.

Duplicate Requests via Admin On Rest

Not sure if anyone else has experienced this, but for some reason when making requests (get/post) I'm seeing duplicate requests in the network tab of Chrome developer tools, and my server is clearly getting hit twice. I added in the middleware for image uploads found in admin-on-rests documentation but I only see that called once by adding logging. Has anyone else dealt with this issue?
It may depend on used backend. You did not provide any info about these requests.
For example if backend protected and demand some kind of special authentication - fronted will be sending OPTIONS requests before POST, PUT etc
In trace log these requests may looks the same - but first will be OPTIONS request and second POST.
OPTIONS request in HTTP means that fronted 'asks' server - 'may I put that data to that url by POST? I have authentication token etc' :) And if server answer - okay - you may do that. Frontend will send POST request.
By other scenario - that may be because backend routing configuration.
Frontend may send GET request for example to endpoint http://1/1
Backend respond by 301 error - with information that this endpoint located by different url - for example http/1/1/ (added '/' and the end - that may be frequently confronted wille working with django)
And Frontend send another request to http://1/1/

Stocktwits request for Access Token returns a blank page

I'm following the instructions given on this page:
https://stocktwits.com/developers/docs/authentication
I've managed to get the client id, client secret and the code without any problems (up to step 4). However, when trying to exchange these for an access token, I'm getting a blank page.
The instructions specify that the return is a json format response - maybe there are some browser settings that I need to check to allow this?
thanks in advance for any pointers.
Judging by the title of this post "returning a blank page" it sounds like you are trying to make this request through the browser. The page you referenced says that the request must be a POST request and browsers cannot make POST requests.
On the step you're stuck on (step 5) there is a link that says "View the token call" that links here https://stocktwits.com/developers/docs/api#oauth-token-docs which shows how to make this POST request using curl.
