I have one desktop application.
And this application is upload on server and i will generate one downloadable link. and after download finished i want to start installation automatically.

This jar is a J2ME application which I will access (kind of link) from mobile to download the application then it will connect to my server application through web services.
I just want a link which when I open should download .jar file just like we download any software. We used to have one network location to do so but it has been crashed so I am thinking this solution as a workaround.

I need to create installer package for WCF(service) class library,which i created in VS2012 with .net framework 4.5.

Actually it put entry in Window services, when i try to start the service manually i am getting an error like "The service on local computer started and then stopped,Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs.
I tried to fix those errors by changing to local system account and clearing the evenlog,
but nothing works fine for me.
I tried it using Advance installer by providing the dll file in Services tab,but it fails to start the service getting an error like "Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start the stystem sevices".
Please tell me how can i proceed further?
I don't need to use third party softwares like wix for creating installer package.
*Is there any way to achieve this task. If so please guide me and give me a sample application to achieve this task.*

I would like to know how to change Oracle Access Manager's Login page.
I don't want to build a new custom page but only change a few UI components to the default Oracle page (like images and CSS).
The "login page" I'm talking about is: console/login/LoginForm.jsp, but I cannot find it on my server, does any one know where I can find this LoginForm.jsp??
I'm actually looking for the login/LoginForm.jsp in this Oracle documentation.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

You don't need to install any additional software on the server, you just need to be able to copy a WAR file to the console extension directory.
You can build the WAR anywhere, that doesn't have to be done on the server. Expand the look and feel template, which will give you the login/login.jsp file you were looking for, make your changes, build the archive and deploy to your server.

I am using Visual Studio 2010 and IIS 7.0 .Currently when I want to deploy an website to my web server I follow these steps -
1.Right-click on website and say publish..to get the entire site copied to a local folder.
2.Next using filezilla just ftp the copied files to the web server.
The problem is I have to deploy entire website all the time since I can't keep a track of the changes. Although I do find my way easier and without problems. I dont want to a whole lot of configuration and deployment packages unless it is really worth it and also relatively easy to do. Is there a better way I should do the deployment ? Any suggestions are welcome !
You could use the Web Deployment tool. It needs to be installed on the webserver too and can even take care of publishing a sql server database.

Do NOT use the Web Platform installer to install this package.
You can just right click on website and Publish Web Site; the Publish Website Wizard opens. You can click the ... button to browse on the Target Location textbox and choose FTP over in the left hand side, then put in your FTP credentials.
You can tick 'Allow this precompiled site to be updateable' so if you need to make minor changes (such as scripts, css, or html) but I don't know how reliable that is.

Personally I use Dispatch for ASP.NET. Works well for me. It only uploads the files that have changed and can check for files that are missing locally or on the server.

If you are using the Publish Wizard then you have no choice but to deploy the whole site. There is no way for the wizard to look at the files on the server and know definitively if the file has changed or not (it could look at file size or something, but that's not 100% guarantee of no change and FTP doesn't offer an easy way to do a checksum algorithm).
Other then that, do it the way you would do it on any other language/tool. Just manually FTP the files you've changed. Of course, this means you have know which files are side-affected by your changes. And if you're not confident as to what files you've side affected.... publish wizard is your friend :)
I am trying to deploy an application using ClickOnce. The problem is, I am saving user generated files in the application's working directory. Now when the user installs the next version of the application, his old files will no longer be available to him. What is the best workaround for this problem - or does this mean I have to roll my own installer!

Look into using isolated storage rather than the application's working directory.

When Windows Vista came out and developers could no longer store data in Program Files, Microsoft recommended using LocalApplicationData. We store a lot of cached data there, under a folder with our application's name. I wrote a blog entry showing exactly how to do this if you're interested.
