Linux Terminal on Mac - macos

Is there any way to get the linux terminal on Mac OS X? Without using any tool like Homebrew, can the same commands be executed effectively in Mac OS X also?

Can Starcraft run on Mac OS 10.8?

I wanted to play some Starcraft on my MacBook Pro running Mac OS 10.8. The CD I have has the class Mac OS version. The Mac OS X PowerPC version does not work due to Rosetta being removed (Apple - please don't make this mistake again in Mac OS 11). Is there a way to make Starcraft work on Mac OS 10.8? I would prefer not to use emulators.
Get the OS X patch from here:

Using gnuplot remotely from Mac

I have a Mac with OS 10.11.1, from which I ssh, using Terminal (with -Y option) to a remote cluster. Once on the cluster, I want to use gnuplot to generate a plot on a window that I would expect to open on my Mac, but it doesn't.
I have no problem doing it from another Mac with OS 10.8.
Why doesn't the plot window appear on the newer Mac?

Mac OS Snow Leoperd

I want to test my cocoa application on mac os 10.6 (Snow Leoprrd) . But there are 10.7.5 is installed on my system . How can we install mac os 10.6 on my system , i have downloaded .dmg file of mac os 10.6 , I have use VMWare but there is no luck error occures that "This os is not mac os x server'. Is there any way to install this os virtually or directly on any system of mac os .
Thanks
If you have an external hard drive you can install the OS to that drive and boot up directly from there to test out your software. This works great and allows you to run the OS in a full native environment instead of using a VM.
Alternatively you could still go the VM route, but keep in mind that it might be trial and error. This article has a step-by-step guide to install Snow Leopard with VMWare:

Mac OS X installation of emacs doesn't auto-load certain libraries (?)

It seems that some emacs installations on Mac OS X do not auto-load certain libraries. Here's a specific example of what I'm talking about:
When I eval the elisp command "(tool-bar-mode -1)" I get the error:
"Debugger entered--Lisp error: (void-function tool-bar-mode)"
This is just one instance. I get similar errors for example with "(scroll-bar-mode -1)" and others.
Ok, which emacs installations am I using? I have noticed this issue with:
the default emacs 22 installation that comes with Mac OS X 10.6 and 10.7
emacs 23; both the MacPorts and Fink installations on Mac OS X 10.6 and 10.7
emacs 24 MacPorts installation on Mac OS X 10.6 and 10.7
Note: all of the above were terminal (i.e. non-windowed) emacs
I have NOT noticed this issue with the following installations:
any linux installation of emacs 22+
the Cocoa-based Emacs.app installation (available here: http://emacsformacosx.com/)
In order to deal with this I've had to add to include library calls such as "(require 'tool-bar)" in my ".emacs" file just to ward off the errors. Why is this happening? What is effectively different between these installations?
If you are just running Emacs from the command line, you don't need to turn off the toolbar or scrollbars, since they don't do anything in that environment -- those modes are for GUIs.
However, if you'd a .emacs for GUIs and CLI, use something like this:
(if window-system
(tool-bar-mode -1))
