Is it even possible to extend a trial version of Dynamics CRM 2016 on premise?
You can't extend a 90 days OnPremise trial, however you can reinstall all again from scratch

I know this question doesn't really fit stackoverflow but there isnt' much action on the dynamics crm tags.
Where can I find the installation media for Dynamics 365 on premise? It's not on MSDN. The only thing I have been able to find is an update for 2016 to 365.
Dynamics 365 was not published as a new version. It is an update to 2016, "December 2016 Update for Dynamics 365". You should pull down the 2016 ISO to do an install and then apply the update.
My development server is having MS CRM 2013 Onpremises installed. It is possible to install MS CRM 2016 Onpremises on the same server?
No, this isn't possible. You can only share the backing SQL Server by creating Named Instances.
You could use a CRM 2016 Online instance as an alternative, but it would introduce additional costs which is not desirable for a development environment.
The same applies for an installation to an Azure VM.
I need to transfer customization from Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2015 to Microsoft Dynamics 2016, is that even possible if no, is there a workaround solution to do that?
You have two options:
Just try to import your solution. When Dynamics CRM 2016 imports your solution without issues, you are done.
Upgrade a development instance of your Dynamics CRM 2015 deployment to 2016 and export the customizations. Then import the customizations in a 2016 organization.
It is possible. When you export the solution, if it asks about the version just choose the biggest value (as you are exporting to CRM 2016).
Currently I'm using Microsoft Dynamics® CRM Online Spring '14
(6.1.3.119) (DB 6.1.1.1847) and we have installed the CRM Email router 2013, we are planning to upgrade to Dynamics CRM 2015.
Can I upgrade the CRM Email Router 2013 to 2015 while using Dynamics CRM Spring 14?
I found a link to do that(https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn531069.aspx#BKMK_Upgrade2013) but it doesn't say if is backwards compatible also the link to downoad the Email Router 2015 says you need "Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2015" https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=45017
After waiting for some help I decided to answer my own question by installing the Email Router Versoin 2015 from here https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=45017 in a new server, I pointed one of the profiles to CRM 2013 and the result was:
"Incoming Status: Failure -The Email Router service that is installed is not a supported version. The Email Router version is later than expected by the Microsoft Dynamics CRM server at https://...organization".
Confirmed Email Router is not backwards Compatible with Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online.
Can anyone please help me understand the difference.
