Show design view of rdlc report in visual studio 2013 - visual-studio-2013

I wrote a program by visual studio 2008. then I installed v.2013 .
But it's not show design view of RDLC reports. I just see html codes.
some thing were wrong. when I want to add new connection (that it is in sqlserver 2008 R2) it's show error:
Unable to add data connection. Could not load file or assembly
'Microsoft.Sqlserver.Management.Sdk.Sfc, Version=11.0.0.0,
Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89845dcd8080cc91' or one of it's
dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.
And I made setup , but now it's can't show. I'm be crazy everything is cluttered when I upgraded visual studio from 2008 to 2013.
What can I do?

To upgrade Microsoft Viewer:
install SQLSysClrTypes
install report Viewer 2012 runtime
Both are available from here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35747

SSIS and Visual Sudio 2019 Cannot Load Project

First of all, this issue has nothing to do with the installation of SSDT. I have the lastest version installed, at the time of writting this.
My issue is that the SSIS package was written some time ago using, I think either VS2005 or VS2008 as I was using Windows 7 with the lastest SSDT package fro the time, and I now need to open it up to view the workings.
I am now using VS2019 on Windows 10, again with the latest SSDT package, and studio refuses to open the project.
Unsupported
This version of Visual Studio is unable to open the following projects. The project types may not be installed or this version of Visual Studio may not support them.
For more information on enabling these project types or otherwise migrating your assets, please see the details in the "Migration Report" displayed after clicking OK.
- Contessa.SQL.SSIS, "G:\Work Stuff\Solution\40 SQL SSIS\TestSolution.SQL.SSIS\TestSolution.SQL.SSIS\TestSolution.SQL.SSIS.dtproj"
Non-functional changes required
Visual Studio will automatically make non-functional changes to the following projects in order to enable them to open in Visual Studio 2015, Visual Studio 2013, Visual Studio 2012, and Visual Studio 2010 SP1. Project behavior will not be impacted.
- Contessa, "G:\Work Stuff\Solution\TestSolution.sln"
I have found the answer and it had nothing to do with the SSDT installed.
After finding this article.
visual-studio-2019-open-solution-file-incompatible
It explains the need to make sure that the SSIS Extension is enables. In my case it needed to be installed.
This occurred because I had installed various versions of SSDT which caused Visual Studio to need me to reinstall.

Visual Studio 2013 Express has no MS-Reports Template Installed

When I Google and look up how to add a RDLC report to my Visual Studio 2013 Project I get the answer i'd expect, usually "In the Templates pane, select Report or Report Wizard"
This article is one of them: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms252067(v=VS.100).aspx
Nowhere can I find anything about "what if there is no Reports section" in your installed Templates
For the last month I thought this was because I needed to download SQL Server Data Tools for Visual Studio 2013. Yesterday I installed this. As a result I now appear to have a new version of Visual Studio 2013 called "Microsoft Visual Studio 2013 Shell (Integrated)". It has a purple icon and loads with a black splash image
My Project is currently running and being developed in Visual Studio 2013 Express for Web which has a green icon
If I try to load my project into the new Integrated Shell VS 2013 I get errors. What I really want is just to have the template available so I can add RDLC reports
I have already used MuGet to install MvcReportViewer and set my web config etc and references. Following instructions at https://www.nuget.org/packages/MvcReportViewer/
Now I need to create an RDLC but have no Template to do so
Could it be that VS-2013 Express has this feature turned off, because if I go into Help/About VS2013 Express for Web it has SQL Server Data Tools 12.0.30919.1 as an Installed product
Any comments appreciated
As far as I know, you can't use VS 2013 Express to edit RDLC files. It requires at least the professional version.
See: http://community.dynamics.com/nav/b/navteam/archive/2013/12/19/microsoft-visual-studio-2013-now-supported-for-rdlc-report-design.aspx
You can, however, create them in Sql Server Reporting Services, which is part of the advanced version of Sql Server Express Edition, using SQL Server Business Intelligence Developer Studio (BIDS) Express.
Try to download (Microsoft Report viewer 2012 run-time)
& Report Builder3
- First is the tool that display & Print Report.
- Report Builder is the tool that you can design report with it.
You Must have SQL Server 2012 Installed

Crystal Reports 2005 in Visual Studio 2010

I have a couple of Crystal Reports that were developed in Visual Studio 2005, but I am now using Visual Studio 2010. The application is still referencing the 10.2.3600.0 DLLs and I have no desire to update those references. We are phasing away from Crystal and don't want to deal with migrating to a newer version.
I did install the latest version and support pack of "SAP Crystal Reports, developer version for Microsoft Visual Studio" from http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-7824 and am able to open and edit the reports as required.
However, when I try to run the application, I get the following error:
{"Could not load file or assembly 'CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.CommLayer, Version=10.2.3600.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=692fbea5521e1304' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.":"CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.CommLayer, Version=10.2.3600.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=692fbea5521e1304"}
I did some searching around and it seems I need the 2005 DLLs registered in the GAC? Does this sound correct? Will it not work with the redistributables installed by v13? The referenced 2005 DLLs are all in another folder and properly referenced by my project so I would think the application should work with those.
What is the minimum I need to install in order to be able to work with the reports in Visual Studio 2010, and to actually run these old 2005 reports in the application?
Modifying the reports requires the Visual Studio integration Install Executable to be run. The latest version can be found at http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-7824.
Displaying or printing the reports within the application requires the correct runtime distribution files. I cannot find an "official" source for the 2005 redistributables, but there seem to be a number of sites that offer it for download. Just search for it.
You have to install CRforVS_redist_install_32bit for 32 bit machine and CRforVS_redist_install_86bit for 64 bit machine. these will register all necessary DLLs.
below is the link of the same.

How can I add a Document Map to an RDLC (aka SSRS) report in Visual Studio 2010?

Perhaps I am missing something obvious, but I cannot find a way to add a Document Map to an RDLC file from within Visual Studio 2010 (or the stand-alone "Report Builder 2.0" for that matter).
I previous versions, such as 2005 and 2008, this was a simple matter of adding a document map label to a report item. But the property "Document Map Label" is no longer present.
Furthermore, I can't find a way to add a bookmark either.
If anyone can shed some light on this, that would be great!!
Thanks!
I'm not sure exactly which version you are referring to. Visual Studio 2010 does not support Business Intelligence Development Studio (BIDS) If you install BIDS from the SQL Server 2008 R2 disk it will install the shell of Visual Studio 2008. If you already have Visual Studio 2010, installing BIDS will still install the 2008 shell of visual studio and will load that if you try to make BI projects. If you install it from SQL Server 2012 it will install the SQL Server Data Tools (SSDT), which uses the Visual Studio 2010 Shell. I suppose that's the version you mean.
I've checked my version of BIDS from SQL Server 2008R2 and all the objects added to a report do have the DocumentMapLabel property. I've also just checked my SSDT from SQL 2012 and the property is still there. Select an object on the report and look in the properties window under "Other".

How do I convert a Visual Studio 2010 database project to an SSDT Project

I have a clean install of windows 7 with Visual Studio 2010 Premium inc. SP 1. I also just installed the developer edition of SQL Server 2012 .
I now should be able to convert the Visual Studio 2010 database project to an SSDT project. According to this technet blogpost it should be as easy as opening my Visual Studio solution file and follow the conversion wizard. The problem is that the conversion wizard never appears. Also, the "Convert to SQL Server Database project..." context menu item does not exist when right clicking on the VS 2010 database project.
I'm probably missing something in my SQL 2012 installation. The question is: what?
My SQL 2012 install configuration:
In case it helps someone else.
In my case I did not get a wizard of any kind, even though I did ALL necessary installs.
Symptoms:
Open solution in VS2012.
Database project is unloaded, it says it needs migration.
Reload database project, it says it requires functional changes (or something like it). I press OK.
Database project is available, it builds, but when I close VS2012, and re-open the solution, it says the same thing over and over again.
Solution:
Unknown to me VS2012 does create a new project of ssdt type. Unfortunately it doesn't load it. I have a project .dbproj file and a project .sqlproj file. The .dbproj file is loaded.
Remove the database project from the solution.
Add existing project -> select the .sqlproj file. The database project is loaded again. It builds.
Now everything seems well, I can open and build the solution in VS2012 without any problems. Also, I can reopen the solution in VS2010SP1, and it opens and builds without any problems.
Found the problem. Apparently I still needed to download SSDT standalone from http://www.microsoft.com/web/gallery/install.aspx?appid=SSDT. Althought SQL Server Data Tools is listed in the screenshot above.
EDIT: Updated the link. Thanks #ryanwebjackson
If you have a situation where you're trying to migrate from .dbproj created for Visual Studio 2008 to .sqlproj for Visual Studio 2012 you might run into same behavior (no wizzard, can't load project).
In my case there was even quite absurd situation where Visual Studio 2012 created .sqlproj file and copied into it the contents of old Visual Studio 2008 .dbproj.
None of the proposed workarounds helped, I had to first convert from 2008 .dbproj to 2010 .dbproj (using Visual Studio 2010) and then from 2010 .dbproj to .sqlproj (using Visual Studio 2012).
For me something diffrent works.
After migration you will have both *.dbproj and *.sqlproj in project directory.
Just remove project (dbproj and attach existing sqlproj project).
Do not know why solution file is not updated.
