Installing SQL Server 2014 Data Tools BI for VS 2013 - visual-studio-2013

I have VS 2013 Professional 64bit, SSMS 2014. I've downloaded SSDTBI_x86_ENU and ran the setup. According to the instructions from others who have had errors during installation, I'm supposed to select 'New Instance' and not 'Add Features' in 'Install Types'. I don't seem to have this option. So, I select 'New SQL Server stand-alone installation or add features to an existing installation'.
At this point I do get a feature selection window where I can select 'SQL Server Data Tools - Business Intelligence'.
After clicking next, during the install, I will get the following Error:
'VS Shell installation has failed with exit code -2147205120'
If I click on the link it takes me to a MS web page with the following information...
Details
ID: 50000
Source: setup.rll
We're sorry

Anyone know what I can do to get this to install?

I had to download and install VS 2012 Tools for Applications and VS 2012 Shell Isolated, then install Business Intelligence.

VS 2019 - SSAS Tabular model explorer missing or greyed out

I searched many times, but there was no answer from MSFT or any other communities for this issue.
I have the Community edition 2019. Tabular model explorer is greyed out in the View->Toolbar->Other windows. I have no luck with VS 2017 EE as well, the same problem there too.
I could able to use the Import Datasource button on the Model menu and pull the source tables for building, however, Tabular model explorer and the data source folders are missing or not being able to use from a project perspective. Since the tabular model explorer is missing, I couldn't able to use the data transform window for each table and thus literally making a stop on development.
This is really annoying.
Here is VS 2019 system info

[SSAS Tabular Explorer Window greyed out]1
In your screenshot, Model.bim does not appear to be open. You have to open it for Tabular Model Explorer to show up. Double click Model.bim in Solution Explorer.
Other issues that I don't believe apply to you, but may to others:
The Compatibility Level of the model must be at least 1400. Check by selecting Model.bim in Solution Explorer and then look in the Properties Window.
You also must have the Analysis Services extension installed. Search on "SSDT" for current installation steps.
If you left click on the Model.bim File in solution explorer and look at the properties window you should see Compatibility Level is 1103 or less. You will need to upgrade to a newer compatibility level to use Tabular Model Explorer. What version is your SSAS Server? You can upgrade to that level or lower.
You are probably using compatibility level 1400, in which you have to click on the Design button instead - see this Microsoft reply.
You need to install the Analysis services tabular projects extension from the Marketplace. Post that you should be able to see the tabular model explorer
I have 1400 compatibility level and still the tabular explorer didn't show up, it was greyed, it's some kind of bug, you can solve it by simply double clicking again on the model and opening it.

Visual Studio error on new project creation

Situation.
I have Web developer Express Studio 2008 installed on my system.
Until recent windows update it worked fine, but about 2 weeks ago it start giving me an error every time I attempt to create any new project. Screen shot of an error below:
Express 2008 error
I did try to do windows restore to point before update and it did not worked.
As a next step I installed Visual Studio 2010(same result) and VS 2015 same result but a bit more descriptive error. Screen show below.
VS 2015 error
But there is no clear information on Microsoft MSDN forums about this error or how to fix it.
I did try to do reset(devenv.exe\resetsettings) but so far no luck.
Any idea what is going on and how to fix this?
Right now I can not create ANY new project and some of older projects are not opening as well. There is no system of or any kind of similarity between projects which opens or not.
This is a fairly vague error as the dll in question isn't listed here and 0x8007045a is just the error code for this dll initialization error. As a next step in troubleshooting to find the issue (outside of a windows repair) I'd go ahead and run Process Monitor and watch the file system activity for Visual Studio (once you see devenv.exe show up, right click on it and include just that process.
There's a blog post with some troubleshooting steps here but really though, you need to find which library is the culprit to track down what you'll need to reinstall (likely from a system or shared library side).

'Microsoft.VisualStudio.Data.Tools.SqlLan......did not load correctly

I have installed the visual studio 2013.after installation and exactly at preparing for first use the following window appeared!!!this window just appeared at first time of use and from then on I did not see this window.is it a serious problem?if yes how can i solve it?
the message of window is:
The 'Microsoft.VisualStudio.Data.Tools.SqlLanguageServices.Package,Microsoft.VisualStudio.Data.Tools.SqlLanguageServices,Version=12.0.0.0,Culture=neutral,PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a' package did not load correctly.
the problem may have been.....(it is too long..)
This error was happening to me any time I opened VS2013 - Right about when the 'Announcements' filled in the Start Page tab.
Tried installing VS2013 Update 2 - Took forever. Didn't fix. (TF;DF?)
Did the following based on this answer:
The 'ProviderPackage' package did not load correctly
Opened Programs and Features (run: appwiz.cpl)
Right click on 'Microsoft SQL Server Data Tools' and choose 'Repair'
That seemed to do it for me. Then for good measure, did this as instructed by MS site:
If you'd like to check for updates manually, open Visual Studio 2013
and choose the Tools > Extensions and Updates menu. SQL Server tooling
updates will appear in the Updates list.

SQL Server Compact 4.0 does not work in VS 2010 SP1

I've installed SQL Server compact 4.0 local database and I've added a database. However, if I try to open my database, an unknown errors occurs.
I tried to restart my VS 2010 after install the SQL Server, but it does not help and I cannot open my database.
How to resolve it?
Have a look at the following blog
In this blog you will see that you need to download an additional tool to make it work with visual studio 2010. The link to this tool is present in the same blog (search for the text below) or you may download it using the Web Platform Installer.
Visual Studio 2010 SP1 Tools for SQL Server Compact 4.0
I did not pay attention on a error message: "event log file full".
I just cleaned eventviewer in Windows and all became okay:).
I spied this topic:
I just emptied the event log and tried again:
Windows-R ("Run")
eventvwr
For each event log (in the left hand pane) right-click and select "Clear all events" (backing up the existing log if you care)

Visual Studio Build Fails on Configuring SQL Server 2005

I'm trying to build a setup project in Visual Studio 2005, and it is failing every time, after opening a dialog box labeled Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Tools and configuring for a few minutes. The Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Tools dialog then launches a dialog with the text Failure creating local group SQLServer2005NotificationServices$COMPUTER_NAME. I suspect this failure is because I'm not currently local admin on my machine (a situation I hope will be rectified rapidly), but I don't see why I need to configure MS SQL 2005, as my project does not use it, and in fact has no DB connectivity. How can I get past this step to a successful build?

Update: Got my admin back, but this is still taking up time to run, and I'd still like to be rid of it.
I found something about it on Microsoft Connect. Seems like it's a bug. In the reply they linked to a knowledge base article with some workarounds.
