I have a text file C:\user\test.txt with the text "This is a test", and I want to physically open the file using VBScript (as if i were to click Accesories → Notepad). I want to see the file open on my screen so I can visually read the text.
Now, for some reason I can't. This is what I'm trying (I tried with and without the "textfile.close" line, and yes, the file exists in that path):

If you want to open the file in Notepad:
With CreateObject("WScript.Shell")

You can also just run the file and it will open in your default txt editor (whatever Windows file association you have established for extension txt).
With CreateObject("WScript.Shell")
.Run "c:\user\test.txt"

Are you reading the file?
You should be doing something like

I have 3 scripts wherein they all must be run in the right order repeatedly.
1st script - performs a process on a list of PCs (listed on a textfile input) depending if they are online/offline. It outputs a list of the PCs which were online and another list of the offline ones
2nd script - gets the PC difference from the original list and the output of the 1st script to know which machines have run the process from the 1st script
3rd script - using the differences, updates the input list
The script below is the 3rd script. Whenever I run it, it ends with an error "input past end of file". I've tried several modifications and it always ends that way.
My idea for the 3rd script is that the Differences.txt output from the 2nd file are the ones that still need to run the process form the first script, so I simply delete the original input file and rename this one into the new output file. However, I have to also keep track of the ones that were already done with the process so I have to list/append them to another text file.

You get that error when you call ReadAll on an empty file. Check the AtEndOfStream property and read the content only if it's false:

When I do this, I get an error saying, "Expected end of statement." However, I do not know where to add the end statement. What I am trying to do is I am trying to let the script search the Desktop for all files with a specific file extension (in this case, I want to search for a file extension with .mymom) Then, I want to change the file extension with .ayy (This is the struggle part) I don't know if my code is wrong, or if it's just the end statement part.
You are getting the error, probably because you have missed a , between the source and destination file paths in the moveFile method
Use this code:

I need create one script for open one file (Server.txt → content all servers names) and create logfile with ServerName (example: Server1.txt). After that I need WriteLine in this logfile result of the script retrieve registry values.
I have one script working retrieve all registry values but I need to create each FileLog with ServerName.
I think cannot use two Opentextfile before close one.
Can we help me?

You can call OpenTextFile twice, but you can't open the same file twice without closing it first. From what I see you don't need to open the file twice, though. CreateTextFile already returns a handle to the file, so you can simply use objFile2 throughout the loops.

I'm trying to copy a line of text from a .txt -> paste into another file and save. The code I have keeps giving me errors at the paste section. I am completely new at this and learning as I go. My main goal is to paste the info after Host= in another file. But I need to get this down first.

The only difference I made was remove the subfolder, and put in the root of C: The script worked.
I manually created both the source file and target file. If both files exist, and are not locked (as if you had it open / locked in another application), then the permissions of that VNC folder must be the issue.
If still your file permission denied you to write then you have to do change the security of that file using right click of mouse, and update advanced setting.
