I am building my first help file and so far all is working except one thing:
There is a Table of contents button in the help browser that is deactivated for my help (and so far all 3rd Party help I looked at).
However it's used in most Apple Apps. It allows you to hide reveal a navigation on the left side of the help page.
I found no documentation about this at all. So I wondered if anyone has figured out how to address this.

TL;DR: In a Laravel + InertiaJS + Vue 3 developed application, how can I achieve to have a transition between "pages" loaded within a persistent layout <main> section - for example, have that section animate (say, fade out) before loading the next page, then animate (fade) that new page in - when using standard Inertia routing for navigation? I have managed to do it on entering/showing the page, but have found no way to animate before navigation happens.
LONG(ish): The Way I'm trying to do it
Let's assume there is an application (developed with Laravel + InertiaJS + Vue 3).
I have an element in the markup of an Inertia persistent layout that is conditionally shown if a value is true (v-if="shouldAnimate") that is initially set to false when declared, and when onMounted fires, it sets that value to true which in turn triggers the animation to run (doesn't really matter how the animation works, but just in case, I have options to use either GSAP or anime.js).
Up to this point, all is good: every time I navigate to a page (using Inertia-adequate methods such as the Link component) the animation triggers and I am a happy guy.
BUT: I would very much like to be able to play another animation (the reverse of the previous one) before, say, navigation to the next page occurs. I have tried almost everything I can think of and have not been successful. Here's what got the closest to what I need:
I tried hooking into the InertiaJS event Inertia.on('before', ...): effectively, the event fires up right before navigation (checked with some good-old console log), so I tried firing up the animation at this point, only to find out that the Inertia event looks like it is destroying the page immediately before the animation has had time to play; no problem: I'll just event.preventDefault() it, run the animation and THEN, using a setTimeout timed to the length of the animation (300ms) I'll resume navigation, say, by using Inertia.visit.
Doesn't work. Somehow, the default behaviour is prevented (stops the navigation), the animation plays back, but when it comes to the "resume navigation part" I have had mixed results depending on what I use:

Independently of whether I use Inertia.get(event.detail.visit.url) or Inertia.visit(event.detail.visit.url) what happens is the animation runs its course, and then the timer runs out and this whole code RUNS AGAIN AND AGAIN in intervals equal to the timer. I also tried to do this using the complete event of the animation to trigger the navigation but it behaves the same.
I know this is related to me being an ignorant about how both Inertia and events work, and I am sure there is a proper (correct? right?) way to achieve what I need, but either I have failed in using the correct terms to look for it, or I am approaching this the wrong way. Hopefully this information is enough to explain my issue.

I don't code so asking for help :-) Hi, I have an issue for a page animation with a couple of interactions. How do I insert a code snippet to tell the browser to either continue or pause the animation, when a user opens/clicks another tab.
Right now, the animation pauses for the first part, but the subsequent interactions keep going. And it's a jumbled mess.
What is the easiest/simple way to do this? Can someone share the full/complete code snippet to accomplish this? I've been searching for hours and can't seem to find the right solution.

When the user clicks away from a window, certain events are fired off. You can add event handlers to your window object that respond to these events.
You probably want to listen for 'focus' and 'blur' events. JavaScript:

I have a Navigation.swf where i am loading multiple swfs using switch case statement based on the user choice (like a website navigation) aboutus.swf and contactus.swf etc, its loading perfectly.
Now in the child SWF's i have close_btn to unload the loaded SWF itself when user clicks on it. but i am not able to make it working. i have been reading help/articles form 2-3 months and found that it can be done using Event Dispatcher but somehow the codes i tried did not works for the close_btn. or it could not communicate to my main movie.
or do i need to load child swfs as movieclip ? to make the event dispatcher work from child swf so it can trigger the unloader function in main SWF and unload the loaded swf ?

i have found a temporary solution to this
but its worthless when my content position differ.
i have made a close button and hidden it on main( navigation movie) and when child swf is loaded i have made the close button visible, it works fine but button comes at a FIXED location on stage so the problem is if my content's postion is not near the close button then close button looks ODD on stage...so i have to have the close button inside the child SWF and not on the Main movie...

i'm still having a problem clicking a popup button on an auction site,that appears only if u won an auction. This popup seems tbe a problem. Ive managed to get help partially in Need to click a bid button with Grease monkey script, i'm able to get the bid buttons clicked, but the popu is stil a problem. The xpath for the popup is:

But the problem seems to be that the script doesnt stay active on the page waiting for the popup, I think if i can get it to "wait" for the popup to appear, it should work. I'm very new to GM, so excuse if there is simple errors. I had exelent help from people like Brock sofar, who is showing me the ropes. Slowly but surely I'm gettin the hang of it. Remove the alerts, i just used them to see if it executing.
The simplest solution would be to run this function, say every second, thus "waiting" for the popup to appear:

It is also better to rewrite PopClick to check if the element is there, before calling click, like this:

Sorry, I didn't test any of this code: I wanted just to give you the general idea of where to dig.
I want to persist the user's location in the document he or she is browsing, then bring them back to that spot when they return from tombstoning or between sessions.
My first approach was to wrap the browser component in a scrollviewer, but it turns out it handles its own scrolling and the scrollviewer never changes its verticaloffset.
My guess is that the browser component must have a scrollviewer or something like it embedded in it. I need to get the verticaloffset and scroll to an offset.
Any guesses how to get there?
My next approach would be a painful mish-mash of javascript and c# to figure out where they are...
Because of the way the WebBrowser control is built you'll need to track scrolling in Javascript then pass the location to managed code to handle storage of that value.
On resuming you'll need to have the managed code pass the scroll position to a Javascript function to reset the scroll position.
That's the theory but I haven't looked at the funcitonality around javascript scrolling events in the WebBrowser yet. That's the only place I can see possible problems.

I've accepted Matt's answer, but I want to put in some details here. I'm also going to blog about how I did it once I'm completely done.
Since the WebBrowser component is essentially a black-box, you don't have as much control as I would like. Having said that, it is possible to get and set the vertical offset.
Javascript lets you ask for the value, but different browsers use different variations on HOW to ask. For THIS case I only have one browser to worry about.
First I make a couple of simple javascript functions:

Next I call into the WebBrowser using the InvokeScript method on the browser object.

I have been writing an eBook reader and had a similar question. Code for setting a scroll position has been easy enough to find.
Code for setting vertical scroll position:

Google didn't help much in finding solution for getting the value of current scroll position. Lacking any knowledge in javascript it took me almost two hours to get it right.
