I moved my live site in the localhost. Website was developed in CMS which is Magento. Now I don't know how to edit it or further develop the website. I have Magento installed on my localhost.

The most likely cause of this is your localhost webserver does not (if it's apache) have mod_rewrite enabled.

I have restored magento website from a backup. I have restored files and database without any issues. Also, I did configuration in local.xml file with the DB credentials.I am getting Magento home page now.
But I restored my custom website, so my home page should be that instead of a magento home page. Can someone please help me where I would be going wrong. Any ideas or thoughts would be really appreciated.
FYI, this is hosted in GoDaddy VPS with cpanel.
check in admin CMS-> pages home page is active and its configuration/design is correct in cms
hi i`m very new to magento.i'm working on already developed eCommerce site which is developed by magento.i installed in my local machine.there is some url rewritings issues in it.here is my live instance http://test.cstoremaster.com/.
every thing is working fine at my live instance but at my local machine it's not working fine,every time i need to put index.php at my url.even some pages were redirecting to my www folder it's like localhost/aboutus...help me
I am not sure this solution would work but you can try.
Login to you admin panel.
Go to System->Configuration.and click on Web tab.
Under Search engine optimization set the web server rewrite
to "Yes".
Save the changes.
Now clear the cache if any enabled and check on frontend the problem of adding index.php should be fixed.

Im testing our site on BrowserStack and it works in all browsers but Internet Explorer 11 on Windows 10.
I can't add products to the cart and Magento is is saying I must enable cookies in the browser but I have! Also cookies are working on other sites, for example the demo site we bought our theme for.
When I go to the site below it says cookies are enabled

Not sure what to do? Could it have something to do with my server or magento configuration?
We have Magento 1.9.2 running on an NGINX / HHVM server on a AWS ec2 box with Ubuntu 14.04.

I noticed that if I change Use HTTP Only to NO in System > Configuration > General > Web I can now add things to the cart and cookies seem to be working but the browser is still redirected enable-cookies CMS-page if the click on enable cookies in the Cookie notice at the bottom of the page.
I have 3 magento sites in a single server: www.site1.com, demo.site1.com, site2.com. All 3 magento sites were working fine.
Then, all of a sudden, site1.com's frontend and backend showed blank. Now demo.site1's frontend is showing blank, and admin panel is working fine. site2.com is working fine for both frontend and backend.
Why these sites are showing blank in frontend and backend? We are using amazon server, with only 60% space used.

I migrated a Joomla 2.5 site to another hosting server. The homepage is showing up fine, but when I click on any other secondary pages, I get a 404 error. This only happens when the links are set to SEF. When SEF is turned off, the pages show normally.
Any one have a solution for this?
