I have used workaround from this blog post to install MS Dynamics CRM 2013 Developer Toolkit on Visual Studio 2015. Many people have installed it and using it without problems. However, when I try to bind to my online CRM instance, I get this error:
Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.Windows.Design.Host,
Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a' or
one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.
Am I missing something here ?
Have you got .NET Framework 4.5.2 installed? I remember having to install this, even on Windows 10 which is supposed to have it.

I try to open visual studio 2017 and it gives me this error :
Microsoft Visual Studio
Impossible de charger le type 'ProcessDpiAwareness' à partir de l'assembly 'WindowsBase, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35'.
OK
I don't get it, I try to uninstall and reinstall and it doesn't want to install anymore, I did many research and I have yet to find a solution. Thank you for the help
I think this is yet another problem with .Net 4.7 update on Windows 7/8/8.1 systems. Try installing the updates in this web page. If that doesn't help, try uninstalling .Net Framework 4.7 (instructions to uninstall and reinstall also in the same web page)
We have some custom policies in TFS and are getting errors on the Pending Changes screen in VS 2015. The policies are working in VS 2013 and earlier.
'Microsoft.TeamFoundation.PowerTools.CheckinPolicies.ChangesetComments, Version=10.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a' is not registered
Any ideas?
Thanks!
The custom policies have to be compiled for the version of the .NET framework used by TFS 2015 / VS 2015.
I have also faced the same issue. But, installing TFS power tool solved my problem. What I have done was, Downloaded and installed TFS power tool for the Visual Studio version I'm using and restarted the machine. that's it the issue got resolved.
Had the same problem with VS2013. Installing TFS Power Tools and restarting machine resolved the problem.
I wrote a program by visual studio 2008. then I installed v.2013 .
But it's not show design view of RDLC reports. I just see html codes.
some thing were wrong. when I want to add new connection (that it is in sqlserver 2008 R2) it's show error:
Unable to add data connection. Could not load file or assembly
'Microsoft.Sqlserver.Management.Sdk.Sfc, Version=11.0.0.0,
Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89845dcd8080cc91' or one of it's
dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.
And I made setup , but now it's can't show. I'm be crazy everything is cluttered when I upgraded visual studio from 2008 to 2013.
What can I do?
To upgrade Microsoft Viewer:
install SQLSysClrTypes
install report Viewer 2012 runtime
Both are available from here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35747
I have a couple of Crystal Reports that were developed in Visual Studio 2005, but I am now using Visual Studio 2010. The application is still referencing the 10.2.3600.0 DLLs and I have no desire to update those references. We are phasing away from Crystal and don't want to deal with migrating to a newer version.
I did install the latest version and support pack of "SAP Crystal Reports, developer version for Microsoft Visual Studio" from http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-7824 and am able to open and edit the reports as required.
However, when I try to run the application, I get the following error:
{"Could not load file or assembly 'CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.CommLayer, Version=10.2.3600.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=692fbea5521e1304' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.":"CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.CommLayer, Version=10.2.3600.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=692fbea5521e1304"}
I did some searching around and it seems I need the 2005 DLLs registered in the GAC? Does this sound correct? Will it not work with the redistributables installed by v13? The referenced 2005 DLLs are all in another folder and properly referenced by my project so I would think the application should work with those.
What is the minimum I need to install in order to be able to work with the reports in Visual Studio 2010, and to actually run these old 2005 reports in the application?
Modifying the reports requires the Visual Studio integration Install Executable to be run. The latest version can be found at http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-7824.
Displaying or printing the reports within the application requires the correct runtime distribution files. I cannot find an "official" source for the 2005 redistributables, but there seem to be a number of sites that offer it for download. Just search for it.
You have to install CRforVS_redist_install_32bit for 32 bit machine and CRforVS_redist_install_86bit for 64 bit machine. these will register all necessary DLLs.
below is the link of the same.

I installed Visual Studio 2013 and having problem with Custom Check in policies. I added new Key and Value to the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\VisualStudio\12.0\TeamFoundation\SourceControl\Checkin
Policies\MyPolicyName
Basically I followed everything in this link: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb668980.aspx., but I still get error:
Internal error in "My policy". Error loading the "MyPolicy" policy
(The policy assembly 'MyPolicy, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral,
PublicKeyToken=null' is not registered.). Installation instructions:
To install this policy, read InstallInstructions.txt.
Previously it was built in .NET 4.5 and worked fine with VS 2012. I though maybe building it in .NET 4.5.1 might fix the problem, but it didn't. What should I do to fix it? and where is the InstallInstructions.txt located?
UPDATE:
I am using TFS 2012 and SQL Server 2012. Visual Studio 2013 Premium (not preview).
Thanks for the help!
Finally I figured what was wrong. I had two versions of Visual Studio installed. 2012 and 2013. Year ago I created a custom cheking policy using VS 2012 and I was trying to make it work with VS 2013. I tried rebuilding in VS 2013 and it didn't work. I tried rebuilding it in a machine that only has VS 2013 and figured that it was still referencing to VS 2012 libraries. So I basically removed all references added VS2013 libraries. That solved the issue.
