I'm using Visual Studio 2015. I created a .dll and would like to write a Unit Test. I Created a New Project using the Native Unit Test Project found in the
File | New | Project...
Visual C++ | Test | Native Unit Test Project
All works until I run it. The code requires using the SQLite .dll (sqlite3.dll). When I run the test, I get the error dialogbox:
The program can't start because sqlite3.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.
I have the .dll so I suspect the message saying it is "missing" really means "unable to find".
I've attempted a lot of things to fix this, including editing the following Property Pages values:
Configuration Properties:
Debugging | Environment
VC++ Directories | Executable Directories
These changes to my project make no difference. Does anyone know how to get VS2015 testing to find 3rd party .dlls?
Thx.
Update:
Tried setting Configuration Properties | Debugging | Environment to:
PATH=%PATH%;$(SolutionDir)sqlite;$(LocalDebuggerEnvironment)
Then thought that I might need to reboot the Visual Studio environment for the PATH to be updated. Didn't help. It appears that if I let Visual Studio sit for a while, I get the following message:
An unhandled win32 exception occurred in StandardCollector.Service.exe [6324].
I don't know if the exception is related or not. I'm using VS2015 update #2 if that matters.
Update:
I got a stack dump from the crash...

I'm working on a Hololens application using Unity 2018.2.20f1. I'm building the application for UWP from Unity without a problem. However, after opening up the generated solution in the VisualStudio 2017 (Community Edition) and trying to build it, the build process fails with the following errors:

The exceptions are the same but were thrown for different files. I tried to reinstall the Visual Studio and managed to get a build. The next day I turned on the PC and this error was back. I stopped all of the VS instances and processed from the task manager, deleted all of the files from the Temp folder and managed to get a build a couple more times. Then this error came back.
From what I can tell, during the build process, Visual Studio creates some *.tmp files and for some reason thinks that another process is using it.
Any idea why this is happening and how can it be solved?
Thanks a lot!
Edit: So here is what I did so far (this is more of a work around rather then a solution)
Uninstall vs and unity
Clear the registry with ccleaner and Advanced Uninstaller Pro
Install vs and Unity
Every time I want to get a build I,
Close all of vs instances
Clear Temp folder (C:\Users\dev\AppData\Local\Temp)
Delete previous vs solution
Build from Unity
Run vs as Administrator
Build and deploy the solution from vs
And it works for the most the time. Also, changing the solution configuration (from debug to release and vice versa) helps sometimes.
I have a UWP app that compiles successfully if I have UseDotNetNativeToolchain off. But when I turn it on, it gives me the cryptic error:
Internal compiler error: Object reference not set to
an instance of an object. UWPApp C:\Program Files
(x86)\MSBuild\Microsoft.NetNative\x86\ilc\IlcInternals.targets 887 Build
This is all it gives me. What could be causing this? How can I drill down on this.
Using VS2015
Here is the full build output in case that helps:

The solution to this problem was to disable optimization in a few assemblies I was using in the Default.rd.xml file. E.g.
<Assembly Name="IKVM.OpenJDK.Core" Dynamic="All" DoNotInline="true" DoNotOptimize="true"/>
So I downloaded and installed Microsoft Accelerator v2 to use ParallelArrays. I have referenced it in my project but when I try and execute the code from the module in a script file I get:
"The namespace 'ParallelArrays' is not defined
I have followed the instructions on this post:
Microsoft Accelerator library with Visual Studio F#
I've added a reference to the managed version "Microsoft.Accelerator.dll" to my F# project and then added the native "Accelerator.dll" as an item in my solution and set it's 'Copy To Output Directory' to Copy Always.
Still getting the FSI error and inline error in my script file on the '#load ...' line, however the solution builds fine, and no error in the module file.
Any ideas on what I'm missing? I'm sure it's something stupid.
Thanks,
Justin
UPDATE
I tried mydogisbox's advice, which got rid of the error above, but now when I run the code in the .fsx file I get this error instead:
--> Referenced 'F:\Work\GitHub\qf-sharp\qf-sharp\bin\Debug\Microsoft.Accelerator.dll' (file may be locked by F# Interactive process)
[Loading F:\Work\GitHub\qf-sharp\qf-sharp\MonteCarloGPU.fs]
error FS0192: internal error: F:\Work\GitHub\qf-sharp\qf-sharp\Accelerator.dll: bad cli header, rva 0
UPDATE 2
So the bad header error has dissapeared, but now I get this instead:
Microsoft.ParallelArrays.AcceleratorException: Failure to create a DirectX 9 device.
at Microsoft.ParallelArrays.ParallelArrays.ThrowNativeAcceleratorException()

I found this thread on MSDN however the answers proposed as fixes on that thread barely even relate to the question.

My Direct X version is 11, and I imagine that will suffice, however I tried installing DX9 however, it tells me that a newer version is detected therefore cant install.
There are special directives for referencing dlls from fsi. The #load directive loads the .fs file only. You need to use the #r directive to reference the file. You can either use the full path of the file or you can use #I to include the path to the file. More details here. Keep in mind that fsi is completely independent of your project, so all references in your project must be duplicated in fsi for it to access the same types.
I have installed EmguCV 2.4.2.1777. I have a 32-bit windows 7 so I installed it using the installer. Now I am trying to write a simple code to capture a webcam's video in a window in C#.
The problem is after during execution I am getting the following famous error:
A first chance exception of type 'System.DllNotFoundException' occurred in Emgu.CV.dll
A first chance exception of type 'System.TypeInitializationException' occurred in Emgu.CV.dll
An unhandled exception of type 'System.TypeInitializationException' occurred in Emgu.CV.dll
The file Emgu.CV.dll is present in the folder. I don't understand why its giving that error.
I tried all the checks which are suggested by fellow stackoverflow users and also many other references:
1) Installed MSVCR: MSVCRT 10.0 SP1 x86
2) copied the OpenCV dlls to the execution directory
3) I also have a 32-bit OS. So that also should'nt be an issue.
But when I checked for dependencies, I faced a problem:
I used DependecyWalker to open cvextern.dll and found the following dependencies missing:
NVCUDA.DLL
API-MS-WIN-CORE-COM-L1-1-0.DLL
API-MS-WIN-CORE-WINRT-ERROR-L1-1-0.DLL
API-MS-WIN-CORE-WINRT-L1-1-0.DLL
API-MS-WIN-CORE-WINRT-ROBUFFER-L1-1-0.DLL
API-MS-WIN-CORE-WINRT-STRING-L1-1-0.DLL
API-MS-WIN-SHCORE-SCALING-L1-1-0.DLL
DCOMP.DLL
IESHIMS.DLL
It also gave the following:
Error: At least one required implicit or forwarded dependency was not found.
Warning: At least one delay-load dependency module was not found.
Warning: At least one module has an unresolved import due to a missing export function in a delay-load dependent module.
Please help me out with the exception. Thanks in advance.
I copied all the dll files from C:\Emgu\emgucv-windows-universal-gpu 2.4.9.1847\bin\x86 to a folder called includes in my project and updated the "Copy To Output Directory" Option for these DLLs to "Copy Always" and it got rid of this issue.
I just created a new project in Visual 2010. It is a multi-document MFC (static link) application with the HTML help option, Visual Studio 2008 style (with style changing option), that's about it.
Just after creation, I hit Build Solution and I get a lot build errors all in afxcomctl32.h. Errors like:
Error 1 error C2061: syntax error : identifier 'LPCWS' C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0\VC\atlmfc\include\afxcomctl32.h 426 1
On this line:
AFX_ISOLATIONAWARE_STATICLINK_FUNC(HWND ,CreateWindowExW,(DWORD dwExStyle,LPCWS TR lpClassName,LPCWSTR lpWindowName,DWORD dwStyle,int X,int Y,int nWidth,int nHeight,HWND hWndParent,HMENU hMenu,HINSTANCE hInstance,LPVOID lpParam),(dwExStyle,lpClassName,lpWindowName,dwStyle,X,Y,nWidth,nHeight,hWndParent,hMenu,hInstance,lpParam),NULL)
Same errors in Debug and Release.
My PC is Windows 7 Ultimate. What's the problem???
Best regards,
Downy
AFX_ISOLATIONAWARE_STATICLINK_FUNC(..., LPCWS TR lpClassName, ...)
That code got messed up, there is a space or tab inserted in LPCWSTR. Deleting it will fix the problem.
However, that changed the timestamp on the file as well, you may run into trouble when you install a future service pack. One thing to try is to rename the file, then run a Repair to get the original file back. Or copy it off another machine.
