Hi we used to include this dependency in our project
<repository>
<id>org.springframework.security.taglibs.facelets</id>
<url>http://spring-security-facelets-taglib.googlecode.com/svn/repo/</url>
</repository>
<dependency>
<groupId>org.springframework.security</groupId>
<artifactId>facelets-taglib-jsf20-spring-3</artifactId>
<version>0.5</version>
</dependency>
somehow it is gone now in maven repository. Does anybody know why and where it has gone?
Recently the spring-security- facelets - taglib library was moved from GoogleCode to GitHub .
Google also provided the Maven repository and it was used in the projects.
Unfortunately the library has not yet been moved to another repository, but already we contacted the author, and will be placed in the central Maven repository in the coming days.

I'm trying to use docker-compose-rule to run docker-compose files in junit integration tests.
I use the following dependency in my pom.xml file:
<dependency>
<groupId>com.palantir.docker.compose</groupId>
<artifactId>docker-compose-rule-core</artifactId>
<version>0.32.0</version>
<type>pom</type>
</dependency>
<!-- https://mvnrepository.com/artifact/com.palantir.docker.compose/docker-compose-rule-junit4 -->
<dependency>
<groupId>com.palantir.docker.compose</groupId>
<artifactId>docker-compose-rule-junit4</artifactId>
<version>0.32.0</version>
</dependency>
but for some reason the artifact is not found by maven (for none of the available versions).
As far as I can say, the artifact is found in the jcenter as shows in bintray.
It also exists on maven repository.
Can someone please tell why can't I use these libraries?
Alternatively, can I reference maven to take the library from a specific url with a specific jar file, for example from github, or from here?
According to mvnrepository, the jar you are looking for is not in the maven default Central repository, but is in the Palantir repository. You can add
<repositories>
<repository>
<id>Palantir</id>
<url>https://dl.bintray.com/palantir/releases/</url>
</repository>
</repositories>
into your pom.xml, and try again.
I had tried adding Repository by using this blog post.
But Still Not able to get the dependency http://ebr.springsource.com/repository/app/bundle/version/detail?name=com.springsource.org.aopalliance&version=1.0.0&searchType=bundlesBySymbolicName&searchQuery=com.springsource.org.aopalliance
Then I read ebr.springsource.com/repository/app/faq Which says that "The repository is frozen "
So Which repository should I configure to Nexus Server to get the mentioned jar and get the data.
I didn't find "com.springsource.org.aopalliance" either.
So I check the Spring's dependencies (its pom.xml, version 4.1) And I found the following:
<dependency>
<groupId>aopalliance</groupId>
<artifactId>aopalliance</artifactId>
<version>1.0</version>
<scope>compile</scope>
</dependency>
I almost sure Spring uses the same version of aopalliance for a while.
I have setup Sonatype Nexus with Maven and seems to be working. However, my project depends (transitively) on docbook-xsl-1.75.2 but instead of a jar there you find a zip file. Is this the reason why Nexus is not getting it, that it is a zip file? I haven't found any Nexus configuration page in the web console offering a possible filter.
I browse my Nexus repository and see it gets the pom file but nothing else.
That module has no main artifact, it's packaging type is set to "pom".
What it does have is two additional artifacts which can be retrieved using Maven module classifiers as follows:
<dependency>
<groupId>net.sf.docbook</groupId>
<artifactId>docbook-xsl</artifactId>
<version>1.75.2</version>
<classifier>resources</classifier>
<type>zip</type>
</dependency>
And
<dependency>
<groupId>net.sf.docbook</groupId>
<artifactId>docbook-xsl</artifactId>
<version>1.75.2</version>
<classifier>ns-resources</classifier>
<type>zip</type>
</dependency>
Sorry, I have no idea how you'd retrieve these as transitive dependencies.
The next day, and after restarting Nexus it pulled the dependency. I don't still understand the magic behind Nexus not seeing the dependencies while they are clearly available but at least this question is resolved.
I need to try the current snapshot version 2.3.1 of Spring Web Flow in my project, hoping it will fix this bug for me. I have read the documentation on how to access nightly builds and added the following to my pom.xml:
<dependency>
<groupId>org.springframework.webflow</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-webflow</artifactId>
<version>2.3.1.BUILD-SNAPSHOT</version>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>org.springframework.webflow</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-faces</artifactId>
<version>2.3.1.BUILD-SNAPSHOT</version>
</dependency>
And the repository needed:
<repository>
<id>org.springsource.maven.snapshot</id>
<name>SpringSource Maven Central-compatible Snapshot Repository</name>
<url>http://maven.springframework.org/snapshot</url>
</repository>
But when I try a mvn clean install maven fails to resolve the dependencies:
*[ERROR] ... The following artifacts could not be resolved: org.springframework.webflow:spring-webflow:jar:2.3.1.BUILD-SNAPSHOT, org.springframework.webflow:spring-faces:jar:2.3.1.BUILD-SNAPSHOT ...
Am I missing something obvious? Am I using the wrong snapshot version? Is there a way to list the contents of the snapshot repository? Any hints are appreciated...
P.S.: I cross-posted this question on the SpringSource community forum and will of course post the answer here if I get it there.
I could not find the version of the snap shot you have in the dependency, Here are all the web flow snap shot down loads that I can see from spring source site http://static.springsource.org/downloads/nightly/snapshot-download.php?project=SWF
If you change the version tag in you'r pom.xml that will resolve the issue.
<version>2.3.0.BUILD-SNAPSHOT</version>
has anyone been able to download the spring framework 3.0.0.M4 release from the spring source site... (or can you provide an alternative download page)?
http://www.springsource.org/download
am I missing something..., the site is giving me the runaround...
when i get to the "Spring Community Downloads" page and choose spring from the LHS menu... I get no download link...
Steps:
Go to http://s3.amazonaws.com/dist.springframework.org/release/SPR/spring-framework-3.0.5.RELEASE.zip
When you hit the URL, your download for jar files starts automatically
After unzipping, there is a folder called dist which contains the following jar files for spring 3.0.5
org.springframework.aop-3.0.5.RELEASE.jar
org.springframework.asm-3.0.5.RELEASE.jar
org.springframework.aspects-3.0.5.RELEASE.jar
org.springframework.beans-3.0.5.RELEASE.jar
org.springframework.context.support-3.0.5.RELEASE.jar
org.springframework.context-3.0.5.RELEASE.jar
org.springframework.core-3.0.5.RELEASE.jar
org.springframework.expression-3.0.5.RELEASE.jar
org.springframework.instrument.tomcat-3.0.5.RELEASE.jar
org.springframework.instrument-3.0.5.RELEASE.jar
org.springframework.jdbc-3.0.5.RELEASE.jar
org.springframework.jms-3.0.5.RELEASE.jar
org.springframework.orm-3.0.5.RELEASE.jar
org.springframework.oxm-3.0.5.RELEASE.jar
org.springframework.test-3.0.5.RELEASE.jar
org.springframework.transaction-3.0.5.RELEASE.jar
org.springframework.web.portlet-3.0.5.RELEASE.jar
org.springframework.web.servlet-3.0.5.RELEASE.jar
org.springframework.web.struts-3.0.5.RELEASE.jar
org.springframework.web-3.0.5.RELEASE.jar
NOTE : You can download any release of spring framwork just by modifying the release version to 3.0.1 or 3.2.5 (any other versions according to your need)in the above mentioned URL
If you are using maven, add this to your <repositories> in your pom.xml:
<repository>
<id>spring-milestone</id>
<name>Spring Portfolio Milestone Repository</name>
<url>http://s3.amazonaws.com/maven.springframework.org/milestone</url>
</repository>
and declare your spring dependency like this:
<dependency>
<groupId>org.springframework</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-core</artifactId>
<packaging>jar</packaging>
<version>3.0.0.M4</version>
</dependency>
For others artifcats, use the Spring Maven artifact URL for browsing.

The repository answer is probably the best answer, but if you want to just build it yourself here are some steps to do that.
http://blog.springsource.com/2009/03/03/building-spring-3/
http://blog.springsource.com/2009/12/02/obtaining-spring-3-artifacts-with-maven/
Depending on what you need, you can use maven central or spring EBR. The above link compares the repositories, and also explains how to get milestone, release, as well as snapshot of springframework.
Here is what he is asking for, there are many Spring external jars that are needed, for example of an import he maybe using:
import org.springframework.stereotype.Controller;
import org.springframework.ui.Model;
Some Jars that might be needed are:
org.springframework.aop-3.0.2.RELEASE.jar
org.springframework.asm-3.0.2.RELEASE.jar
org.springframework.beans-3.0.2.jar
...and over 20 more, where does one download these?
searching individually, here is one location:
http://grepcode.com/snapshot/repository.springsource.com/org.springframework/org.springframework.beans/3.0.2
Here is another location you may wish to use:
http://ebr.springsource.com/repository/app/library/version/detail?name=org.springframework.spring&version=3.2.3.RELEASE&searchType=librariesBySymbolicName&searchQuery=org.springframework
I'd recommend using a build system like Maven. You can read about it here if you want to learn more.
Then in your pom.xml add the following coordinates:
<dependency>
<groupId>org.springframework</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-core</artifactId>
<version>3.0.7.RELEASE</version>
</dependency>
You can check out all the versions of the Spring Framework (now referred to as Spring Core) at MVN Repository
