Caffe for Windows on VS 2013 failing with leveldbutil error - visual-studio

I am trying to compile and run cafee with the directions found here:
https://initialneil.wordpress.com/2015/07/15/caffe-vs2013-opencv-in-windows-tutorial-i/
But when I run it, for example on the MNIST example:
"bin\caffe.exe" train --solver=examples\mnist\lenet_solver.prototxt
I get the output:
Usage: leveldbutil command...
dump files... -- dump contents of specified files
What do I do to fix this?

Pulling from https://github.com/BVLC/caffe/tree/windows solved the problem.

Error while generating grpc files (--grpc_out: protoc-gen-grpc: Plugin failed with status code 1.)

I’m trying to run the following command to generate grpc files:
protoc --proto_path=$PROTO_PATH --plugin=protoc-gen-grpc=$PLUGIN_GRPC --grpc_out=$OUT/grpc $PROTO_FILES
This results in the following error:
/Users/MYUSERNAME/Downloads/protoc-gen-grpc-java-1.48.1-osx-aarch_64.exe: program not found or is not executable
Please specify a program using absolute path or make sure the program is available in your PATH system variable
--grpc_out: protoc-gen-grpc: Plugin failed with status code 1.
I made sure the file from the error message is located at that path and has also the correct permissions.
-rwxrwxrwx# 1 MYUSERNAME staff 6334176 10 Aug 00:03 protoc-gen-grpc-java-1.48.1-osx-aarch_64.exe
I also tried running the command as sudo.
Generating java or kotlin files with --java_out=$OUT/java --kotlin_out=$OUT/kotlin
works perfectly fine, so the problem is --grpc_out=$OUT/grpc
I also downloaded multiple versions of the protoc-gen-grpc-java-1.48.1-osx-aarch_64.exe file but it always results in the same error. I also tried replacing all path variables (e.g. $PROTO_PATH) with their corresponding values, without any effect. I’m using MacBook with M1Pro chip.
The problem is that M1 Macs aren't supported. They have copied over the osx-x86_64 binary and renamed it for osx-aarch_64 as a workaround to make it easier to run with Rosetta. See here for where that change was made and here for the full conversation about supporting M1 Macs.

Vitis PetaLinux build cant fetch required files while building an application project

I want to build a PetaLinux Image for my Ultra96v2.
I followed this guide up until building my application project in Vitis. It looks promising but then while building the application project for my custom platform, Vitis throws this error:

It specifically shows me, that there is a comma in the path where it searches for the file. The files are available
at the "normal" location, without the "atf,", "dtb,", etc
at the "weird" location. I created the path so the requested path exists for every file that throws an error message, like
/media/user/6b04b610-ff80-4702-a575-b0b1a78fbafb/dpu_pkg/dpu_appl_system/Debug/sd_card_temp/boot.bif". ... emo/sw/atf,dpu_demo/boot/bl31.elf
I created the path with the weird artefact "arf,dpu_demo", with the komma in the path, but still it wont work. Is this some kind of problem with Vitis, like some env variables not set correctly, or is the building mechanism just acting weird? I cant resolve this issue, because I am not able to change the paths it is supposed to look for the files. This hinders me in advancing my project. I work on Ubuntu 20.04.
Can anyone help me out here, please? I would really appreciate it!
I asked this question in the Xilinx Community, too, but unfortunately there was no resonance at all.
Thank you so much in advance!
PLEASE READ THE WHOLE ANSWER FOR ACTUAL SOLUTION
I think I got it now, though I did not verify whether the image actually works on my Ultra96v2, yet.
I noticed, that the weird path with commata is inside of the boot.bif and system.bif.
So the first time I tried to build it, the bif wasnt there, but got created (I assume). The bif was ready then but only had a weird path inside, so I took the makefile (you can find it in debug/sd_card), copied it, and just commented out the line GENERATE_BIF_XSCT_CMD = ${GENERATE_BIF} -xpfm ${XPFM_PATH} -domains ${DOMAINS} -bifpath ${BIF_PATH}.
Then I edited the boot.bif and system.bif and changed the atf,boot, uboot,boot, and dts,boot to just boot, so the BootGen wouldnt look into the directories with the commata anymore, but only the boot-directory which was specified.
Once that was set up, I executed the edited makefile in my console, by going into the sd_card-directory and executing the following command:
make -f <your_edited_makefile>
This means, that you cant press "build" in Vitis, it wont work. You build the content on your own and wont get a green check mark beside the project! Then the sd_card-directory was populated with (I assume) all necessary data to boot the Ultra96v2 from SD card. This was the content:
boot.scr
BOOT.BIN
dpu_appl.elf (your application project name, I guess)
README.txt
system.dtb
The underlying issue seem to have been that the ::scw::generate_bif created a path to look after, which didnt exist. Really weird issue, in my opinion.
UPDATE:
I just made some changes to the PetaLinux config with the petalinux-config command and rebuilt everything. Once I go to the Vitis part, I changed the system.bif within Vitis itself, and the project compiled successfully, also populating the sd_card directory, as it seems.
UPDATE 2:
Everything failed, so I tried to get to the *.bif of the Application System project. I opened it (linux.bif) and edited the "atf,", "dtb," and "uboot," out of it. Since this is only created once and references by the following files, this fixed my issue and the build was completed successfully in Vitis. So just ignore my originial answer and update.
I hope this is working and hope it will help some of you.

Multiple problems installing TeX Live 2021 on Windows 10

I have a Windows 10 laptop where no TeX distribution was ever installed before (double-checked for config directories, files, and environment variables).
Wanting to install TeX Live 2021, I followed the full installation guide and also read the Windows-specific warnings. I've now tried several times, following different installation procedures - cleaning up everything (deleting base & user directories, environment variables, etc) before each time - but still don't manage to get a working installation. Before I report a bug at tex-live#tug, I wanted to ask for advice here, in case I'm doing something wrong. Here is what I did, step by step, and the problems I encountered in the process.
1. First I tried running the recommended online installer install-tl-windows.exe. It never got past the screen that tries to contact or load from a repository, even after a 30-min wait. Tried a dozen times, choosing different mirrors nearby and far away. No luck.
2. Then I downloaded and unpacked the install-tl.zip and run install-tl-windows.bat therein. This time the main installation window appeared. I left all default paths and environment variables (note that I do have write access to C:); in the selection scheme I unselected all languages except US & UK English, unselected XeTeX, LuaTeX, ConTeXt; also unselected TeXworks (I use Emacs), and clicked Install. After one to three hours (depending on the mirror I chose), the installation was complete.
I tried compiling a minimal latex document (see below), and got an error similar to the one in this old question:
I can't find the format file `pdflatex.fmt'
Following the advice in the answers to that question and similar questions elsewhere online such as this, I tried running texhash and fmtutil-sys --all. The latter gave the error
no appropriate script or programme found fmtutil.
for which there are also many posts online.
2a. Not understanding what the problem could be, I re-tried with all possible combinations of the following three options: (a) choosing different mirrors; (b) leaving the full selection of packages (ie without unselecting some languages, LuaTeX etc); (c) redoing the procedure by choosing "Run as Administrator". No luck.
3. At this point I tried downloading the ISO file with the full installation. Mounted the image and run install-tl-windows.bat (as normal user, as recommended; I repeat that I do have write access to C:). Everything proceeded as in step 2. above. At the end of the installation I tried running pdflatex on the minimal latex document. New error this time:
This is pdfTeX, Version 3.141592653-2.6-1.40.22 (TeX Live 2021/W32TeX) (preloaded format=pdflatex)
restricted \write18 enabled.

Very strange. A file search revealed that article.cls is in the TeXLive file system; but kpathsea did not see it indeed.
4. At this point I opened the TeX Live Shell from the Start Menu; selected a CTAN mirror; updated the TL Manager which was not up to date; updated all packages; run Regenerate filename database; and run Regenerate formats. With the latter I got this error:
tex live shell:

Here is a snip from the full set of errors appearing in the "Other" tab (I'm replacing my user directory with asterisks for privacy; note that I do have write access to these directories):

I tried to continue anyway with Regenerate fontmaps, and then tried again pdflatex on the minimal document. New error:

(Fatal format file error; I'm stymied)
5. I tried again steps 3. and 4., but with "Run as Administrator". Same errors.
OK at this point I give up and really don't know what to do. Am I doing something wrong? For the moment I have to concur with this post: installation of TeX Live 2021 is an utter failure.
Here is the minimal latex file I used for testing (copy & paste):
\documentclass{article}
\begin{document}
test
\section{Section}
test
\end{document}

Error in task sequence failure: "Incorrect function: Error 00000001; Source: Windows"

I am receiving the above error when running the task sequence and it is failing on the step that is in the picture I provided. Does anyone have any ideas on why? I know the error is very generic, and I have tried several things to address it - I checked the box to disable 64-bit, I made sure that the package containing the batch file was referenced in that step, etc. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, I am very much a noob when it comes to SCCM. Thank you.
Could you post the SMSTS.log saved in C:\Windows\CCM ?
It should contain the reason why this is failing
While looking at your TS, It could be that using a working folder with UNC paths fail the TS because CMD does not support running UNC paths out of the box.
Try adding cmd /c at the start of the Command Line field. It's quirky, but has often fixed my issues.

Building RXTX with --disable-locks

I need to build RXTX (http://rxtx.qbang.org/wiki/index.php/Main_Page) for a 64 bit platform with --disable-locks. ( the target platform is a Ubuntu Snappy platform so there is a problem with the permissions and lock files).
The .configure --disable-locks and make seemed to run ok.
I got a new .jar file and librxtxSerial.so as a result.
However when I installed them, I get the following error :
java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: gnu.io.RXTXCommDriver.nativeGetVersion()Ljava/lang/String; thrown while loading gnu.io.RXTXCommDriver
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: Could not initialize class gnu.io.RXTXCommDriver thrown while loading gnu.io.RXTXCommDriver
Is there something else I need to do?
Are there other object files I need to copy over.
Thanks in advance.
I solved the problem myself.
The problem was that the configure script was not expecting a java version higher than 1.5 as shown here in t he extract :
case $JAVA_VERSION in
1.2*|1.3*|1.4*|1.5*)
#fix_parameters $JPATH/jre/lib/javax.comm.properties
CLASSPATH=".:\$(TOP):\$(TOP)/src:"find $JPATH/ -name RXTXcomm.jar |head -n1
RXTX_PATH="\$(JPATH)/jre/lib/\$(OS_ARCH)"
JHOME=$JPATH/"jre/lib/ext"
So the paths were not being set up correctly for me.
I changed it to
case $JAVA_VERSION in
1.2*|1.3*|1.4*|1.5*|1.7*)
Then it worked ok.
