This is my code , I have problems with making a simple save. The message is :( when i trying to save
$user = $this->Users->newEntity();
if($this->request->is('post'))
{
$user = $this->Users->patchEntity($user, $this->request->data);
if($this->Users->save($user))
{
$this->Flash->success(':)');
return $this->redirect(['controller' => 'Users', 'action' => 'index']);
}
else
{
$this->Flash->error(':(');
}
debug($this->request->data);
}
$this->set(compact('user'));
this is my table , I made a migration. All fields can be null
$table = $this->table('users');
$table->addColumn('first_name','string',array('limit'=>100))
->addColumn('last_name','string',array('limit'=>100))
->addColumn('email','string',array('limit'=>100))
->addColumn('password','string')
->addColumn('role','enum',array('values'=>'admin,user'))
->addColumn('active','boolean')
->addColumn('created','datetime')
->addColumn('modified','datetime')
->create();
this is my request data
[
'first_name' => 'wewe',
'last_name' => 'wewe',
'email' => 'wewe#wee.com',
'password' => 'wewewe',
'role' => 'admin',
'active' => '1'
]
I hope that you help me , I am very frustrated
EDIT: if i use print_r ($user->errors()); i get this...
Array ( [firts_name] => Array ( [_required] => This field is required ) )
Your error is in the name of your data, the request data is
'first_name' => 'wewe'"
your column name is "firts_name", its a typing error.

Hi I've been trying out things in updating aa document in firestore from laravel 9. But it doesn't seem to work at all.
What I have tried so far:
$product = app('firebase.firestore')
->database()
->collection('Products')
->document('15da5077cf8940f797db')
->update([
'path' => 'status',
'value' => 'archive'
]);
and
$status = "archive";
$currentData = json_decode(json_encode([
'status' => $status,
]));
$newData = [
'status' => $status,
];
$postData = app('firebase.firestore')
->database()
->collection('Products')
->document('15da5077cf8940f797db');
$postData->update([[
'path' => 'Products',
'value' => FieldValue::arrayRemove([$currentData])
]]);
$postData->set([
'Products' => FieldValue::arrayUnion($newData)
], ['merge' => true]);
and, javascript
const app = initizalizeApp(firebaseConfig);
const db = getFirestore(app);
btnArchive.addEventListener('click', (e) =>{
archiveDoc(doc(db, "Products", "15da5077cf8940f797db"), {
status: archive,
})
alert('Product archived!')
});
I want to update the status of a product from active to archive. But this doesn't work at all. Also is there another way to edit a document without specifying it?
this is how my collection looks like, each document has its own product details:
Just new with backpack. I search on official site and googled it, but dit not found an answer
In laravel 7, using Backpack 4.1
My data model is : Customer has many addresses
Relationship is configured in the Customer model :
public function addresses()
{
return $this->hasMany(\App\Models\Address::class, 'user_id');
}
Relationship is configured in the Address model :
public function customer()
{
return $this->belongsTo(\App\Models\Customer::class);
}
public function country()
{
return $this->belongsTo(\App\Models\Country::class);
}
public function address_type()
{
return $this->belongsTo(\App\Models\AddressType::class);
}
In my customer show page, I would like to show all customer addresses in a table, just under the customer details.
So in my CustomerCrudController, I have implemented this method :
protected function setupShowOperation()
{
$this->crud->set('show.setFromDb', false);
$this->crud->addColumn(['name' => 'name', 'type' => 'text', 'label' => __('models/customers.fields.name'), ]);
$this->crud->addColumn(['name' => 'email', 'type' => 'email', 'label' => __('models/customers.fields.email'), ]);
$this->crud->addColumn([
'name' => 'addresses',
'label' => __('models/addresses.plural'),
'type' => 'table',
'columns' => [
'address_type_id' => __('models/addresses.fields.address_type'),
'address_type.name' => __('models/addresses.fields.address_type'),
'address1' => __('models/addresses.fields.address1'),
'address2' => __('models/addresses.fields.address2'),
'city' => __('models/addresses.fields.address2'),
'postal_code' => __('models/addresses.fields.address2'),
'country.name' => __('models/countries.singular'),
],
]);
}
When I go on my page : /admin/customer/3/show,
In my debugbar, I saw the query how load addresses
select * from `addresses` where `addresses`.`user_id` = 3 and `addresses`.`user_id` is not null
I have the table rendered with the corresponding number of lines from data in DB, but rows are blank.
Is this the correct way to do that ? What are the correct parameters ?
Is there a way to show a table with action buttons (show entry, edit) - same as in List view ?
Should it be implemented in another way ?
Hope I'm clear.
Thanks
Don't know if it is a laravel bug, but my solution was to create my own table blade, base on the file :
\vendor\backpack\crud\src\resources\views\crud\columns\table.blade.php
and have created my own :
\resources\views\vendor\backpack\crud\columns\address_table.blade.php
I have juste changed the file:40
#elseif( is_object($tableRow) && property_exists($tableRow, $tableColumnKey) )
to
#elseif( is_object($tableRow) && isset($tableRow->{$tableColumnKey}) )
now, in my CustomerCrudController.php :
protected function setupShowOperation()
{
$this->crud->set('show.setFromDb', false);
$this->crud->addColumn(['name' => 'name', 'type' => 'text', 'label' => __('models/customers.fields.name'),]);
$this->crud->addColumn(['name' => 'email', 'type' => 'email', 'label' => __('models/customers.fields.email'),]);
$this->crud->addColumn([
'name' => 'addresses',
'label' => __('models/addresses.plural'),
'type' => 'address_table', // my custom type
'model' => \App\Models\Address::class,
'entity' => 'addresses',
'columns' => [
'address_type_name' => __('models/addresses.fields.address_type'),
'postal_code' => __('models/addresses.fields.postal_code'),
'city' => __('models/addresses.fields.city'),
'address1' => __('models/addresses.fields.address1'),
'address2' => __('models/addresses.fields.address1'),
],
]);
}
And I've added an accessor in my model (Address.php)
public function getAddressTypeNameAttribute()
{
return "{$this->address_type->name}";
}
Don't know if there is a better way ...
Hope this will help others.
I use Laravel 8,
In addition for the answer above, and based on this answer https://stackoverflow.com/a/65072393 and https://stackoverflow.com/a/43011286/1315632 regarding PHP function property_exists vs Laravel magic methods to create dynamic properties and methods
After creating the overwrite column php artisan backpack:publish crud/columns/table
I change line 40 in file:\resources\views\vendor\backpack\crud\columns\table.blade.php into
#elseif( is_object($tableRow) && ( property_exists($tableRow, $tableColumnKey) || property_exists((object)$tableRow->toArray(), $tableColumnKey) ) )

So I want to save a pdf file to a directory on my local server but it keeps saying that the directory does not exist.
So first of all where would you store PDF files that are not accessible to by externals (so not in the public folder).
So this is my code. The download works perfectly.
public function generatePDF()
{
$this->mailorder = Session::get('order');
$this->cart = Session::get('cart');
$data = [
'id' => $this->mailorder->id,
'client' => $this->mailorder->Contact,
'country' => $this->mailorder->country,
'city' => $this->mailorder->city,
'street' => $this->mailorder->street,
'postal' => $this->mailorder->postal,
'phone' => $this->mailorder->phone,
'email' => $this->mailorder->email,
'dateIn' => $this->mailorder->dateIn,
'dateOut' => $this->mailorder->dateOut,
'subtotal' => $this->mailorder->subtotal,
'tax' => $this->mailorder->tax,
'total' => $this->mailorder->total,
'cart' => $this->mailorder->cart,
'delivery' => $this->mailorder->delivery,
];
$path = "order_{$this->mailorder->id}_{$this->mailorder->Contact}";
$pdf = PDF::loadView('pdf.orderConfirmationPdf', $data)->save('storage/app/public/'.$path.'.pdf');
;
return $pdf->download(''.$path.'.pdf');
}
First of all, you should check if the directory exists with File facade. If it does not exist, you must make the directory.
if(!File::exists($directory_path)) {
File::makeDirectory($directory_path);
}
If the error still occurs, you must force it to make the directory:
if(!File::exists($directory_path)) {
File::makeDirectory($directory_path, $mode = 0755, true, true);
}
After that, you can save the file in that directory.
Second, if you don't want to save the file in the public directory. you must save it in storage.By simply call storage_path($file_path). this way laravel saves the file under storage/app/public directory.
after that, you can get the URL of the file according to this answer.
I figured it out thank you for your answer.

I'm trying to post booking content with array of passengers but it always return invalid argument supplied for foreach(). What seems to be the problem ?
public function postBooking(Request $request)
{
$user = JWTAuth::parseToken()->authenticate();
$booking = Booking::create([
'service_name' => $request->get('service_name'),
'service_package' => $request->get('service_package'),
'travel_date' => $request->get('travel_date'),
'travel_day' => $request->get('travel_day'),
'travel_time' => $request->get('travel_time'),
'remark' => $request->get('remark'),
'booking_name' => $request->get('booking_name'),
'mobile_number' => $request->get('mobile_number'),
'email' => $request->get('email'),
'nationality' => $request->get('nationality'),
'user_id' => $user->user_id,
]);
$passengers = $request['passengers'];
if(is_array($passengers))
{
foreach($passengers as $passenger)
{
$passenger = Passenger::create([
'passenger_name' => $passenger['passenger_name'],
'ic_passport' => $passenger['ic_passport'],
'booking_id' => $booking->booking_id
]);
}
}
$response = (object)[];
$response->booking = $booking->makeHidden('users');
$response->passengers = $passengers;
return response()->json(['data'=>$response, 'status'=>'ok']);
}
var_dump the $passengers, in my opinion ,the way u get the data from $request is wrong, u show use var_dump()or dd() to see the structure of $request and mostly u can solve the problem.
this is my doctors id
this is my user id
I can't insert anything when I put unique in the validation of doctor_id. When there's no unique it works fine.
I want to avoid duplicate doctor_id where auth::id == 1. Any advice is appreciated.
public function store(Request $request, $id)
{
$auth = Auth::id();
$constraints = [
'doctor_id' => 'required|unique',
'day1' => 'required|max:20',
'day2'=> 'required|max:60',
'day3' => 'required|max:60'
];
$input = [
'users_id' => $auth,
'doctor_id' => $id,
'day1' => $request['day1'],
'day2' => $request['day2'],
'day3' => $request['day3'],
'day4' => $request['day4'],
...
'day27' => $request['day27'],
'status' => '1'
];
$this->validate($request, $constraints);
Itinerary::create($input);
$added = array('added'=> 'Added Doctor to Itinerary Successful!!');
return redirect()->back()->with($added);
Have you tried this? (assuming your table is named itineraries):
'doctor_id' => 'unique:itineraries'
According to Laravel Doc, you should add the table name, and column name if possible:
unique:table,column,except,idColumn
