I am trying to create a single opt in mailchimp form.
I think they've removed the check box to disable double in verification. wufoo.com creates a form that integrates with mailchimp, it works, but it's their form, and shows a large reference to their site.
Can I modify the mailchimp-generated form to create a single opt effect as well?

We recommend moving this block and the preceding CSS link to the HEAD of your HTML file. */

All forms provided directly by MailChimp, including their embed code option, only allow double opt-in. So their is no modification of their original form(s) capable of providing single opt-in.
This guide from their docs denotes this: Double Opt-In Signup Form FAQ's
That said, their API can be used to build out custom single opt-in forms. Alternatively, if that is not an option finding a form integration provider like Wufoo as you've done, that have pre-built a single opt-in solution, may be best.
This page from their API 3.0 docs goes over working with subscribers: Manage Subscribers
On Nov. 3, 2017, MailChimp added single opt-in functionality to signup forms. Here is the announce.
Here is the instruction on how to switch between single opt-in and double opt-in. It doesn't change form HTML, so there is no need to change existing markup.

I'm confused. I've thought it's possible to pass SpringBoot/Thymeleaf objects from the html page to the Modal form. I've come across many examples using ajax to pull data from the REST endpoint instead.
Is using ajax to pull in objects into Modals, the only method?
Thymeleaf is a server side templating language... the concept of a modal form usually means showing/hiding a window opens and closes on the client side (meaning JavaScript that runs when a user clicks a link or a button ). If you don't want to use an API to pull that data (which I think makes the most sense), then you have to create a hidden modal for every row on your page. For example:
<div th:each="item, i: ${items}">
<a href="#"
onClick="openModal(this.getAttribute('data-modal'))"
th:data-modal="|#modal${i.index}|">
Edit modal #<span th:text="${i.index}" />
</a>
<div th:id="|modal${i.index}|" style="display: none;">
<p>I am a modal form for element <span th:text="${i.index}" />!</p>
<input type="text" th:value="${item.value}" />
</div>
</div>
You can see how this works... creating a hidden div/modal form for every row (so you don't have to call an API to get the form values), but it comes with a lot of extra HTML.
In the features tag on the homepage layout of the Vuepress, any markdown notation can't be used due to get the error.
So, I'd like to make my custom layout which is extended from the default homepage layout and to get possible to use markdown.
Is this possible? Any suggestion is welcome, thank you!
I agree with #Sun Haoran's answer, but want to note a good way to add content/html is using a component.
We created a front page component called HomeFeatures.vue. (see the repo) Also, we pretty much just copied this straight from vuepress.
<template>
<div class="features">
<div class="feature">
<h2>AccuTerm</h2>
<p>
Getting Started<br />
Licensing<br />
Desktop<br />
Web<br />
Mobile
</p>
</div>
<div class="feature">
<h2>jBASE</h2>
<p>All Docs<br /></p>
</div>
<div class="feature">
<h2>OpenQM</h2>
<p>Main (Coming Soon!)<br /></p>
</div>
<div class="feature">
<h2>MV Dashboard</h2>
<p>
Introduction<br />
Installation Guide<br />
Programmers Guide
</p>
</div>
<div class="feature">
<h2>MV Connect</h2>
<p>
Overview<br />
Getting Started<br />
API
</p>
</div>
<div class="feature">
<h2>Customer Portal</h2>
<p>
All Docs
</p>
</div>
</div>
</template>
<script>
export default {
name: 'Features'
};
</script>
And just included it like so: (see the repo)

Our docs live here if you'd like to see it in action.
Currently, you can't without going through a lot of trouble. The default theme's homepage is using YAML front matter to pass on user config texts, which will not be parsed as markdown.
Personally, I suggest you try to use HTML directly with a customized layout. To use a customized layout for the homepage, check my other answer, and to use HTML see the relavent issue in VuePress #2186
I need to create a form that by clicking on it will redirect to another website with special 'inputs' tags values.
something like:
<form action="http://example.com" method="post">
<input type="hidden" name="val1" value="something">
<input type="hidden" name="val2" value="else">
<input type="submit" name="submit" value="Go">
</form>
The custom HTML feature that I find will put it inside an iframe, and it looks bad. Is there a way to do it that will look 'normal'?
If you utilize Wix Code you can develop that inside your Wix page without the need of any html forms.
Simple solution:
- Add the form input elements you need on your page
- Add a button to click on
- Add av event handler to the button and grab the values from the input fields
- Send that data to any site or redirect the user to the site you want using wixLocation.to("url") with the query parameters you might need from the form.
Considering this example markup (from http://www.ng-newsletter.com/posts/validations.html):
<div class="row">
<div class="large-12 columns">
<label>Your name</label>
<input type="text"
placeholder="Name"
name="inputNameAttributeValue"
ng-model="signup.name"
ng-minlength=3
ng-maxlength=20 required />
<div class="error"
ng-show="signup_form.name.$dirty && signup_form.name.$invalid">
<small class="error"
ng-show="signup_form.name.$error.required">
Your name is required.
</small>
<small class="error"
ng-show="signup_form.name.$error.minlength">
Your name is required to be at least 3 characters
</small>
<small class="error"
ng-show="signup_form.name.$error.maxlength">
Your name cannot be longer than 20 characters
</small>
</div>
</div>
</div>
Is there a way to accomplish the same thing, but use JavaScript instead of custom Angular attributes?
For example, is there a way I can use JavaScript instead of these Angular html attributes: ng-model, ng-minlength, ng-maxlenth, ng-show?
EDIT:
Just to clarify, I'm looking for a solution that uses the Angular JavaScript API. I would like to have a separate JavaScript document (linked from my HTML document) that uses the Angular JavaScript API. For example, is there a way to specify ng-model for a particular form field using the Angular API instead of the custom Angular HTML attribute?
As I understand it, you want to add a directive (for example ng-model) from javascript, similar to how you would do it with jQuery. Short answer: Don't do it.
Longer Answer: It's probably technically possible, but it would violate the basic principles of AngularJS. Your controller should not touch the HTML at all, in fact any code which should directly manipulate the HTML should be placed in a directive. And that directive should be placed on the input directly in your HTML, which is exactly what you wanted to avoid.
If placing directives in your HTML is not practical for your project, then perhaps you should reconsider using AngularJS.
There's a rather long (and well written) answer here on Stackoverflow which explains "how to think in AngularJS", you might find that it's of interest: https://stackoverflow.com/a/15012542/179024
It would also be interesting to know why you want to do this? There is often an "Angular way" of doing things, but it can be different from what we are used to doing.
This seems simple enough but there are complications...
I have a facebook FBML static page where I want users to sign up to my magento newsletter.
I think I'm right in saying typically you can put the form code as below into the fbml page and on submit it will add the user to the newsletter;
<form action="http://my-site.com/newsletter/subscriber/new/" method="post" id="newsletter-validate-detail">
<fieldset class="block-content">
<legend>Newsletter</legend>
<label id="newsletter-label" for="newsletter" class="left">Join our mailing list</label>
<div class="input-box left">
<input name="email" type="text" id="newsletter" class="input-text required-entry validate-email" />
</div>
<button id="newsletter-submit" type="submit" class="button btn-submit"><span>Join</span></button>
</fieldset>
</form>
But of course at my site I have an ajax function that returns a thanks for registering, so when this submit is sent from fb, this just lands me at a confirmation message on my domain that is supposed to feed through java and say thanks very much for signing up.
So what I need is some way of posting the action, but keeping the user on facebook, or at least leaving them at some other landing page after the action.
Something that posts but doesn't redirect, or something that posts then redirects to something other than the url in the form action?
Not sure if I need ajax for this or if js is even allowed within the fb environment, could I use any of their proprietary FBML to achieve this?
Many thanks
Could you add onSubmit="handleData(); return false;" to your form so it doesn't submit? and use the handleData() function to proccess the data in whatever way you need? This will keep the user from moving off the current page.
