Excited to try out the new NSTouchBar APIs.
Went to the developer site to get the sample code, and it crashes every time in Xcode 8.1 (build 8B62)saying I don't have the 10.12.1 SDK installed, even though I can add a deployment target of 10.12.1.
There are now two versions of macOS 10.12.1 (12B2657 and 16B2555).
Download the update from here (also if you already have 10.12.1 12B2657) to get 16B2555:
https://support.apple.com/kb/dl1897?locale=en_US
This will enable the TouchBar simulator in Xcode 8.1.

ERROR ITMS-90725: "SDK Version Issue. This app was built with the iOS 14.5 SDK. All iOS apps submitted to the App Store must be built with the iOS 15 SDK or later, included in Xcode 13 or later.
My current version is macOs Big Sur version(11.4)
and my xcode version(12.5.1)
You need XCode 13 to use iOS 15 SDK. Simply update your XCode and MacOS (if necessary), then build the app again.
After updating XCode, your iOS SDK will be automatically updated.
Instruction for Older macOS:
Use this patch and upgrade your macOS https://github.com/Ben216k/Patched-Sur
After the upgrade, you can install XCode 13 on your older mac.
Here you can see all the supported mac lists: https://bensova.gitbook.io/big-sur/supported-macs
Below are steps I followed to solve the same issue in the same context:
Upgrade macOs Big Sur -> macOs Monterey v12.4
Update Xcode 12.x -> Xcode 13.x or later
Note: Upgrade could take some minutes. Hence, be patient
I am taking a course on programming with flutter, and it needs Xcode 9 or higher. My mac is currently running 10.11.6 and it can't update any more. I was wondering if there was any way to get Xcode 9 on my mac?
Xcode9 needs OS X 10.12.6 or higher.
The latest Xcode you can install on OS X 10.11.6 is Xcode8 (version 8.2.1).
Here you can check which minimal OS version is required by which version of Xcode:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xcode#Version_comparison_table
Also for downloading any older version of Xcode you need a developer account (free account is enough) and you can download from here:
https://developer.apple.com/download/more/
Unfortunately I don't see older than Xcode9 there but I found Xcode 8.2.1 here
Xcode is only needed to run your Flutter apps on iOS devices and simulators. But to develop Flutter apps, you use another IDE your Mac can probably run: Android Studio, Visual Studio Code or Intellij IDEA.
You can still test your app using an Android emulator or device.
If you do need to upgrade, you can download a Sierra, High Sierra or Mojave patcher from dosdude1's website, and install a later version of macOS on your unsupported Mac (if your mac is in the list of supported devices, and I haven't tested it, so do it at your own risk).
I need to test an application on an iOS6 simulator. Since this iOS version is not part of the current Xcode6 environment, I tried to install Xcode 5.1.1 beside my Xcode 6 installation and use it.
I downloaded Xcode 5.1.1 from the Apple developer pages and installed in in my applications folder. After launch I am downloading and installing the iOS 6.1 SDK from within Xcode.
After that I am trying to launch the simulator (NOT with an app, just a clean launch) but when the simulator window is shown it keeps black. The log says:
Could not lookup service com.apple.iphonesimulator.host_support: 1102
repeatingly. Clicking "Reset Content and Settings..." wont work. I also deleted the SDK file from
~/Applications/Xcode 2.app/Contents/Developer/Applications/
and the 6.1 Folder from
~/Users/username/Library/Application Support/iPhone Simulator/
And made a fresh install. Also no effect. I know there are a lot of similar questions here on stack, but they all suggest the "Reset Content and Settings..." which wont work for me. Any idea what might going on?
When launching an iOS7.1 simulator from Xcode 5.1.1 it starts up and works like a charm. The iOS7.1 comes with the Xcode bundle, the iOS6.1 simulator has to be installed manually. Maybe that's the problem?
Thanks!
Ok,
i probably found the answer here: In OS X 10.10 (Yosemite Beta), How do I Test Using iOS 6.1 Simulator?
In short: iOS6 is not supported under OS-X 10.10 and so the simulator won't work.
I have the following configuration on Mac OS X 10.7.4:
MonoDevelop 3.0.3.2
Mono 2.10.9
Xcode 4.3.3
Monotouch 5.2.12
I'd like to test my app developed in Monotouch, on iOS 4.3, because on iOS 5.0 works fine. To do that i've tried to install simulator 4.3 in Xcode but when i open Monotouch there is just Simulator 5.0.
I read some information on google and obviously, it advised to install SDK 4.3 but there is no version with this SDK for iOS Lion (the only one on Apple developers website is for Snow Leopard).
I would be interested to know how to install the simulator on my computer.
It's a bit hidden but you can still download of Xcode releases from: https://developer.apple.com/downloads/index.action
Downloading Xcode 4.0 should give you the final SDK for iOS 4.3.
You can install 4.2 and 4.3 (.app) side-to-side on Lion (I have them). This should also work for 4.0 and 4.3 since they (like 4.2) ends up in different directories.
Note that you'll need to tell MonoDevelop to switch Apple SDK location (and restart MD).
The solution that worked for me was to install it through Xcode.
XCode > Preferences > Downloads
You should see installs available here. Click the Install button to get it.
my Mac has Snow Leopard and Xcode about shows 4.2 (4c199)
An update came to my iphone4 and it has now ios5.1 (used to be ios5.01)
When I try to run on the ios device target the build goes through fine but the installation fails with "no provisional ios devices are available with a compatible ios version".
When I look in Xcode organizer I can see similarly:
The version of iOS on “XXXXXX’s iPhone” does not match any of the versions of iOS supported for development with this installation of the iOS SDK. Please restore the device to a version of the OS listed below, or update to the latest version of the iOS SDK; which is available here.
and here is what the organizer shows:
OS Installed on XXXXX’s iPhone
5.1 (9B176)
Xcode Supported iOS Versions
Latest
5.0 (9A334)
4.3
4.2 (8C134)
4.2
What is the meaning of "Latest" here?
I hope I do not need to install Xcode 4.3 as it will require moving to Mountain Lion in the middle of the project?
Prior to this update the things used to work, I think (lately I was working only in the simulator, but before that everything work on the iphone ok).
Thanks for any help in advance.
Regards,
Victor
Your mistake was updating your iphone to IOS 5.1, because your current version of xcode doesn't support it. So basically, you either have to downgrade your IOS device to 5.0 or you have to upgrade to Lion(not mountain lion) and then install the latest version of xcode which does supports IOS 5.1.
Downgrading can be a bitch btw, so I think lion is your best bet. Ill have to do the same soon. Hope this made things a little more clear! Best of luck man!
