How to install Windows store app programmatically in UWP? - download

I want to install an windows store application programmatically from UWP application. I am able to redirect to the Windows store application page but what i want is the application should install automatically from store. Is there any to achieve this in UWP?
Thanks in advance.

Yes it is, but such app need Package Policy Control capability (see https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/uwp/packaging/app-capability-declarations). Also you must have direct access to appx package of app to install. Then you can use PackageManager class. But this app can't be pushed to Windows store without special permission from MSFT or you must use sideloading (installing without Windows store). So it's almost unusable...

Can I distribute\install a copy of the UWP project to a different Windows 10 desktop system?

VS 2015, Xamarin Forms, PCL.
I can attach my Android phone by cable, and install to it. I can run "Local Machine" on my windows 10 development machine and test there. I want to give a copy of the UWP project to someone else to test with (on Windows 10 desktop). This is a new application, not in any stores, so...how to do this? Can it be done without using store distribution, and if so, can someone tell me how to do this, or point me to a link that documents this?
You could create package (like for publishing to store) and then with PowerShell install it on another PC. Packaging UWP apps
You can limit the distribution of an app to only a certain group of testers, without first publishing a submission that's broadly available, you can use the same app submission process as any app you submit. To allow only certain people to get the app free of charge, and prevent other customers from seeing its listing or downloading it - read more about Beta testing and targeted distribution

Desktop App Converter/Submit to Windows Store

I have an older application that I've converted using Microsoft's "Desktop App Converter" to create a UWP application. The application appears to convert fine, and I can install and run it on my local machine. Unfortunately, when I try to submit the application to the Windows App Store, I get the following errors:
Package acceptance validation error: We don't allow the capability you've specified: runFullTrust.
Package acceptance validation error: You don't have permissions to specify the following namespaces in the appx manifest file of the package DownloadManager.appx: http://schemas.microsoft.com/appx/manifest/foundation/windows10/restrictedcapabilities.
Are there any ideas what is causing this and what the fix is?
I'm running Windows 10 Enterprise Preview Version 1511, Build 14352.1002
According to this article from the official blog, you cannot submit your Centennial apps to the Store just yet. You have to follow the process they mention in their article:
Windows 10 Anniversary Update SDK Now Available! Windows Store Open for Submissions
"Windows Store Open for Submissions; Including Process for Submitting Desktop Bridge Apps:
In addition, we will begin the process of accepting apps using the Desktop Bridge. While we build the pipeline into the Windows Store to publish these apps, our team will work directly with developers to get their converted apps and games into the Windows Store. Contact our team here if you are interested in submitting an app using the Desktop Bridge to the Windows Store."
You can find in this article Preparing your desktop app for conversion to UWP features that should be removed from codebase.
As I see there is one Your app always runs with elevated security privileges.

Distributing Mac App via Mac App Store and Own Website

I want to distribute my Mac App on both Mac App Store and my own website. The Mac App Store app will be signed via the Mac App Distribution certificate from Apple and the Website version will be signed via the Developer ID Application certificate. The website version will be distributed as a simple MyAppName.zip file that lets the user unpack MyAppName.app to where ever the user wishes. My app is a document based app that creates documents with extension .mydoc
I have two options to implement such a scenario.
First, and my preferred method is to have same bundle identifier for both apps. If a user tries to install from MAS first and then website; Will both apps live on my Mac without any issues? If a user installs the website version first, and then tries to install from MAS, how will MAS behave? How is it decided that which app will open my document by default?
Second, I use different bundle identifier for the apps on MAS and my website. Essentially they are different apps and I don't like this because it is confusing for a user because the apps look and behave exactly the same. In this case, how is it decided which one of the apps will open my document by default?

If a user installs the website version first, and then tries to install from MAS, how will MAS behave? Answer: MAS will ask user that there already exists a version and if it should be kept.
How is it decided that which app will open my document by default? Answer:
Launch Services documentation says the the behavior is not determinate. So either one will open.

Apps for windows 8 tablet?

I'm developing an app for tablet picture capturing. I want to use the windows store app.
I don't want to publish it. Can I develop it without publishing it to the store?
Any other ideas for app dev?
Thanks
Yes you can develop a Windows Store app with publishing it but you will be the only one who can use it. If you want someone else to run your app they would have to use your code in VS on their machine to run it.

Different ways to install windows phone application on device

I have developed a windows phone 8 application. I have a developer account and unlocked device. Now I'm able to deploy/install the application in my phone through windows phone development sdk.
Now I want to install this application in another device ( a device of my friend, who is in different location). I don't want to put this application in the app store. I want to mail the XAP file only to him. So is there any other way to install this (XAP file) application in his mobile.
I am looking forward your responses.
Thanks.
Are you aware of the Windows Phone's Beta testing. You can push your app to the store in BETA test mode and can specify the testers Microsoft emails ids, so that only those people can install and test the app. The app won't be publicly accessible. and AFAIK, you cannot install unsigned XAP's in un-unlocked devices.
For more details check this : Beta testing your app
Please Refer this link,
I think this will solved your query.
Using this you can install a .xap file in windows phone easily.

I hope you will get the answer.
