I'm learning three.js and I've done the cube successfully. Now I'm trying to make 3d text. I've copied the code from an example in the web which is the simplest one I've found (the example is here).
I've copied all the files from the example to my PC: the html, the css and the 4 referenced .js files including the font "janda_manatee_solid_regular.js". Then when I load the html the 3d text is not displayed (nothing is rendered in the canvas), but I don't get any error in the console.
I've uploaded here the html and everything else (css and js). What's the problem with this code?
In html code of your page (from the link you provided), there is:
<div id="canvas">
<canvas width="800" height="600"></canvas>
<canvas width="800" height="600"></canvas>
</div>
Probably, that in your source code you have it as
<div id="canvas">
<canvas width="800" height="600"></canvas>
</div>
and then in font-example.js you do this
container = document.getElementById( 'canvas' );
thus, you already have a canvas element in the canvas div and then you add one more canvas element of the same size.
var SCREEN_WIDTH = 800, SCREEN_HEIGHT = 600;
...
renderer.setSize(SCREEN_WIDTH, SCREEN_HEIGHT);
As the result, you have two canvases and you can't see the second one (with nicely looking text) because it's below the bottom of your screen.
The solution is to keep the canvas div empty in your source html:
<div id="canvas"></div>

I followed the answers to try to achieve a similar look to be found here www.thexxcorporation.com
The first header is using a shortcode (its a Wordpress site).
My problem is that the shortcodes don't reflect their actual styling setting, therefore, I'm trying to reproduce the look, but with my own sizes, images etc.
I've tried this:
h1:after
{
background:url(image path);/* apply your image here */
background-repeat:repeat-x;
content:" ";
position:absolute;
width:999em;
height:25px;
margin:10px 0 0 5px;
}
This, almost works, but has a problem. The style relates to headers that are with a content div. My other hears fit within the div fine (100% of the width of the div).
The above code results in the background image overflowing outside the content div it sits within.
So, how do I constrain it to the width of the div it sits within?
My page code looks like this:
<div id="main-content" class="clearfix">
<header id="page-heading">
<div class="boxed">
<h1>Test</h1>
</div><!-- /boxed -->
</header><!-- /page-heading -->
<div id="home-content" class="clearfix boxed container">
<article id="post" class="clearfix">
<div class="entry clearfix fitvids">
<h1>Test page for H1</h1>
</div><!-- .entry .clearfix -->
</article><!-- #post -->
<aside id="sidebar">
</aside><!-- /sidebar --></div><!-- #home-content -->
<div class="clear"></div>
The containing divs are set with position:relative.
If I add position:relative to the h1:after - the background image disappears.
slightly baffled.
Cheers,
Mike
the div it sits within should in relative position. add this style to the div
position:relative;
and the h1::after should have 100 percent width - don't use em. change the width to
width:100%;
hope this helps
cheers
I'm using the jQuery plugin Masonry and I'm having an issue that happens when I make an ajax call to another page to load in images for a gallery. The ajax call works and the images load in but when the call is made, something happens that removes one of the classes that Masonry appends too one of my divs.
Here is how my html looks on the first page. Everything is fine here and shows the class masonry-brick, which I need to render out the appropriate css to make everything look nice and it also renders out the inline css.
<a href="/system/images/series_uploads/15/original/berkshire_25585_walnut_famousdaves03.jpg?1330115640" rel="lightbox['gallery']">
**<div class="item masonry-brick" style="position: absolute; top: 0px; left: 0px;">**<img alt="" src="/system/images/series_uploads/15/gallery/berkshire_25585_walnut_famousdaves03.jpg?1330115640" title="Berkshire" />
<div class="gallery-text">
<h3>Berkshire</h3>
<p>HDP – High Definition Porcelain</p>
</div>
</div>
</a>
When I click on the link to make the ajax call, the images load in fine and it works on all the links but the class masonry-brick is removed and the images lose their css.
jQuery("#project-galleries-navigation li.load-category a").on("click", function(){
var href = jQuery(this).attr("href");
jQuery("#gallery").fadeOut(300).remove("img").load(href).fadeIn(2300);
return false;
});
This is the code i'm using for masonry.
var $container = jQuery('#copy-wrapper-gallery');
$container.imagesLoaded(function(){
$container.masonry({
itemSelector : '.item',
isAnimated: true
});
});
This is what ends up happening to my html when the page loads in the new data. The class masonry-brick is no longer present and the inline css disappears as well.
<a href="/system/images/series_uploads/7/original/ashton_23931_smokey_beige_.jpg?1330114250" rel="lightbox['gallery']">
**<div class="item">**<img alt="" src="/system/images/series_uploads/7/gallery/ashton_23931_smokey_beige_.jpg?1330114250" title="Ashton" />
<div class="gallery-text">
<h3>Ashton</h3>
<p>Porcelain</p>
</div>
</div>
</a>
Has anyone had this problem or knows a way to fix this issue?
I was able to get it to work by modifying this jquery and putting in a callback function for it.
jQuery("#gallery").fadeOut(300).remove("img").load(href, function(){
jQuery("#gallery").masonry("reload");
}).fadeIn(2300);
e.preventDefault();
});
I need to "slide in" a (background-)image in a div.
When I load the page, some div with a bg image or image inside it (and overflow?) needs to go from invisible/width=0 to 100px width. This needs to ease in.
Can anyone please help me out with the js?
<div style="overflow:hidden; width:100px; height:40px;">
<img src="someimg.png" height="40" width="100" />
</div>
This uses jquery on document ready.. For easing can use the standard jquery 'linear' but I included the jquery.easing plugin where you can have different easing options.
http://jsfiddle.net/DyW7M/1/
$(document).ready(function () {
$('#makeitlong').animate({ width: '400'}, 2000, 'linear');
});
So I've got an image that inside a tag, and I've also got a div that is centred in the middle of the screen.
How do I make this div invisible until the image is clicked?
Preview of page when the div is visible:
So that added to cart is a div in the middle of the screen. I want that to only show up when the "Add to cart" button has been clicked.
I want the div to go away again after 2 seconds. Transitions would be nice (eg fade into visibility), but I don't mind.
Set the display of the div to none and do a onclick event for the image which sets the display of the div to block. I would recommend using JQuery to add in any transitions or animations.
Something like (without animations):
<div id="cart" style="display:none">
</div>
<img src="imgsource" onClick="document.getElementById('cart').style.display = 'block'"/>
Worked it out. Had to use jQuery.
In the < head> :
<script>
$(document).ready(function(){
$(".addtocart").click(function(){
$(".addedcartbg").fadeIn(500);
$(".addedcartbg").delay(1000);
$(".addedcartbg").fadeOut(500);
});
});
</script>
In the < body> :
<div class="addedcartbg" style="display:none"><div class="addedcart"> Successfully added to cart. </div></div>
css
.hide{
display:none;
}
html
<div class="hide">
// put content here
</div>
<img class="hide-show" src="site.com/image.png" alt=""/>
js
$(function(){
$('.hide-show').bind('click',function(){
$('.hide').fadeIn(500).delay(2000).fadeOut(500);
});
});
I have an s:div ajax in jsp page:
<s:div
theme="ajax"
delay="10000"
loadingText="Please Wait"
errorText="Problem in loading"
href="%{yearlyrequestedQuantity}">
</s:div>
In this i want to load an image instead of the "please wait" text.
To display a "wait until the page loads" image
you will need to:
Every time your page loads a init() function will load.
<body onLoad="init()">
Define a div named loading right after section.
<div id="loading" style="position:absolute; width:100%; text-align:center;
top:300px;">
<img src="loading.gif" border=0></div>
The loading.gif image should be an animated gif that suggests that the page is still loading.
Place this javascript code right after you define the div.
<script>
var ld=(document.all);
var ns4=document.layers;
var ns6=document.getElementById&&!document.all;
var ie4=document.all;
if (ns4)
ld=document.loading;
else if (ns6)
ld=document.getElementById("loading").style;
else if (ie4)
ld=document.all.loading.style;
function init()
{
if(ns4){ld.visibility="hidden";}
else if (ns6||ie4) ld.display="none";
}
</script>
