Keyboard shortcuts which start with Alt (such as Peek Definition Alt+F12) stopped working on Visual Studio 2015.
When I press Alt key, those underscores appear under menu items (which is default behavior of windows) as shown on image
Other keyboard shortcuts such as F5, and all the ones starting with Ctrl are working properly.
I've found a lot of answers about keyboard shortcut conflicts after installing ReSharper, but I haven't installed it.
Any suggestions?
In my case it was Nvidia's "In-Game Overlay". In case you are running this software, try disabling this in the "Geforce Experience".

After long troubleshoting and googling I've combined multiple things and it worked:
Updated the Visual Studio
Resetted keyboard layout with following steps:
2.1. Make sure you have no additional keyboard and displays connected (this could be optional step, but without this the solution was not
working for me)
2.2. From menu open "Tools" and select "Options"
2.3. From left side select "Environment" and click on "Keyboard"
2.4. Change the mapping scheme to "Default"
2.5. Click on "Reset" (You'll be promted something then click on "Yes") and OK
2.6. And now restart the application
Also by the way installed ReSharper and uninstalled (this also plays keyboard shortcuts of Visual Studio) and retried second step
DevExpress Coderush overrides some of the Alt key bindings which prevent Visual Studio using them (ie: Alt Left & Right).
They can be disabled selectively via Extensions -> CodeRush -> Options -> IDE -> Shortcuts -> untick Enabled on right.
I can confirm that it's due to GeForce Experience. Of course, not exactly GeForce Experience's fault since it's meant for gamers. After disabling the In-game overlay under Options (wheel), General, In-game Overlay, alt+F7 worked immediately.

I'm using the 2017 Community Edition of Visual Studio, and I can't figure out how to toggle the "Smart Tag" feature (helper, auto-fix, suggestion tool).
It normally appears as a tiny square you can hover on, once first hovering over an error. This interaction is really annoying, and there should be a keyboard shortcut for it, but I can't find it.
The keyboard shortcuts that work in other versions of VS for Windows etc. don't work here. I also can't find any type of key binding under the settings for a "smart tag".

What you're looking for is "Quick Fix..."
You can use the shortcut option + return (also shown as ⌥ + ⏎)
You can modify the shortcut in Preferences -> Enviroment -> Key Bindings -> Refactoring -> Quick Fix..
My quick watch (shift + F9) shortcut suddenly is not working.
But its alternate keyboard chord Control + Alt + Q works fine.
And all other shortcut seems working fine. But quick watch is the only one that I currently found.
I have tried other shortcut with Shift or with F9 , no problem.
I am also using Resharper, is that affecting VS Shift F9?
If you have Snag-It installed on your machine, its global shortcuts may override application specific shortcuts in Visual Studio (or other apps).

In the meantime, just go into the Snag-It preferences, the HotKeys tab, and set the "Video capture start/pause/resume" hot key to something other than [Shift]-[F9]. For myself, I only use "Global capture", so I set everything else to "None".
You can try the following:

After upgrading to Visual Studio 2015, holding control while clicking on a symbol navigates to that symbol definition. In prior versions, this would instead select the entire word.
How can I disable the navigation event when CTRL + Click(ing) a symbol, so that it highlights the word?
I do have Resharper (Ultimate 9.2) installed. The configuration option under Environment -> Search & Navigation -> Go to Declaration on Control + Click in the editor is not checked.
All the search engine results make mention of this being a feature of the Productivity Power Tools extensions in previous versions of Visual Studio. I do not have that extension installed.
I found my solution in the "Options - Text Editor - General" settings. This was on VS 2017 thou.
To disable navigation to symbol definitions in VS2015,
this one worked for me.
With Resharper Ultimate 2016.3.1, I could fix the issue by disabling "Rich mouse navigation in the editor". It can be found in Resharper Options window, under Environment > Search & Navigation.
Maybe updating Resharper could solve the issue.
Also, Productivity Power Tools is not installed on my machine.
In vs 2017 this setting is available in Tools -> Options -> Text Editor -> General -> Enable mouse click to perform Go to Definition.
You can uncheck it!
Go to ReSharper Options > Environment > Search & Navigation, then uncheck the following options:
Rich mouse navigation in the editor
Enable 'Smart go to declaration'
I finally solved it following the info I found on this page..

Ensure you are using Visual Studio as your resharper keyboard scheme.
Environment -> Keyboard & Menus
Tools -> Options -> Environment -> Keyboard
To stop the go to declaration, select it and input a new key short cut for it. In this image I have demonstrated that I changed this short cut to ctr num 1 and could not change it to ctr num 3. On testing crt click does not no take me to the declaration.
Find the shortcut you want to remove, in this case Edit.NavigateTo and remove.
An update for Productivity Power Tools + VS2017. Instead of having settings for this feature, a separate plugin gets installed. So after installing PPTs, you'll have a new extension called Ctrl+Click Go To Definition. Not sure why we need that tool considering it's baked into VS, but...
Anyway, Disabling that extension (plus the other things mentioned in other comments for VS and Resharper) fixed my ctrl+click woes.
To switch to the Visual C# keyboard mapping scheme
On the Tools menu, click Options.
Expand Environment, and then click Keyboard.
Select Visual C# 2005 from the Apply the following application

I like resharper fine, but with the new pricing, the trial ran out and I want to try life without it.
Except after disabling all the Resharper commands are still bound in my keyboard options! So ctrl+, doesn't fall back to the standard VS behavior because its bound to Resharper.Resharper_GotoRecentEdits which is, of course, disabled.
Even clicking Reset in the keyboard options does not remove the keybindings.
So what the heck. How do I get rid of all the resharper stuff? It is currently suspended and doesn't have a menu item.
This is Visual Studio 2015 with Resharper Ultimate trial
The following steps worked for me:
Disable ReSharper
In ReSharper's options -> Keyboard & Menus, select the Visual Studio scheme and click on Apply Scheme.
Mind the note under the Apply Scheme button: Click save to close the ReSharper Dialog and...
In TOOLS --> Options | Keyboard, make sure the right mapping scheme is selected (Visual C# 2005 for me) and click Reset and finally, Ok
That did the trick for me. opening the keyboard dialog once again and hitting Ctrl+, in the Press shortcut keys was no longer showing the key mapping to be bound to Resharper.Resharper_GotoRecentEdits
As per my comment on the initial post - it seems sometimes you have to uninstall ReSharper to remove the key bindings.
I just got a new computer with Windows 8 and installed Visual Studio 2013 on it and now I have an issue with debugger shortcuts - I run application in a debug mode and it breaks at the first break point but when I try going further line by line, F10 does not work from the keyboard - only VS Debug menu. Anything I am missing?
P.S. The issue was the function key. It needs to be turned on in order to use F keys
On Lenovo laptops, there is a shortcut to disable the Fn key automatically running the default Windows shortcuts.
Hit the Fn key and the Esc key at the same time to toggle the "Hot Key" default.
Hope this works for other Laptop brands since this is an easy shortcut for newer Lenovo laptops.
Please follow the instruction here, though it talks about visual studio 2010 it should help you to analyze the problem. it may be solved with the steps described there and if not, please let me know...

I resolved my issue and wanted to post an answer in case anyone is looking for it. Enabling function key does not require any complicated solution, it can be enabled by changing settings in:
Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound (Category) -> Windows Mobility Center -> Adjust Commonly Used Mobility Settings
Look Under Function Key Behavior and change the dropdown value to "Function Key" to enable Fn key.
To disable it, select "Multimedia Key"

Also check 3rd party software. In my case I had Camtasia Recorder open and minimized, which apparently intercepts the F10 input (thanks, TechSmith)
I had the same problem. My solution was a bit different and can apply to any key. My F10 key was not working. After unplugging the keyboard and plugging it back in did not fix the problem, I twisted the keyboard like an ice cube tray and the F10 key started working again.
