Ive got a brand new machine (Lenovo Y700) running Windows 10. I have xampp installed and I have my project folder in the htdocs folder of my xampp install as well. For some reason, no matter what I do, I cannot figure out why my project does not display. All I ever get is an "Index Of" page. Basically just a file hierarchy of my project folder. When changing URL to a specific path within that folder, I get directed to a page saying "refused to connect". I have uninstalled and re-installed xampp 5 or 6 times and I just cannot figure out why I cant view my project on the localhost. Makes no sense whatsoever.

I use MAMP Pro 4.0.6 on MACOS X El Capitan
I am noticing a strange behavior that I never noticed before: when I start MAMP, it creates a folder MAMP PRO\Assets folder inside /Users/(My user)/Documents
If I delete these folders, they are recreated on the next MAMP restart... As I said I never noticed that before and I don't know where this behavior comes from.
This is part of a feature introduced with MAMP 4 that allows you to manage project assets.
Within MAMP you can access the assets window under "Window" or ⌘-3. The window then allows you to add and remove assets. Any you add will be added to the new 'assets' directory in documents. Similarly, if you move something to that directory it will show up in the MAMP assets window.
I've yet to find a real use for this feature and, from what I can tell, Appsolute's only documentation of it is one line in their MAMP 4 launch blog post.
I am trying to run ColdFusion existing project in my local system, I am getting the error message below. Am I missing anything?
Selected file is not in the document root of the server. If the
project is not in the document root, create a linked folder to the
document root (selecting Project Properties > ColdFusion Project)
Try to do it:

The bottom line: In CFBuilder, go to the Servers view and right click on the local server running you are running against. When the initial screen comes up, check to make sure all of that is correct, then click NEXT. On the next view ("Local Server Settings") there is a path for the Document Root. Make sure that's correct and click Finish.
The background: I had to relocate my Apache server to a new directory with a different name. Even though I changed all of the associations in the Projects and the Workspace and the httpd.conf file for Apache, the localhost settings in CF Builder were still pointing to the old Document Root. Once I corrected that, everything worked like a champ.
I am working with the deployment feature to easily upload files to a server. So opening a specific project folder for which I have already set up deployment gives me the opportunity to work with the project files instantly and also upload them without any problems.
The problem is with opening the right folder. When setting up deployment for a project you choose a folder as the 'root' folder for this one project and when one wants to load this settings he has to choose the right folder when opening a project. Sometimes there are some differences which folder is chosen as root (most of the time the folder is 'domain', but sometimes it's another folder).
When I now want open a project folder to work with the files and have the deployment ready, I can not recognize in the popped up window which folder is the right one. Friends of mine (win8/Linux) tell me that they have a phpStorm icon instead of the standard folder icon.
On the other hand I told OSX to show me the hidden files on my system which results in following:
As you can see Finder shows me the .idea file, so at least I know the folder I am at right now is the project folder. But I in the future I don't want to check first in Finder, which folder the right one is and then open phpStorm to open it there.
I hope anybody understands my problem :). Thanks for any tips, really annoying topic.
Update:
Maybe the problem comes with the fact that phpStorm on OSX uses Finder as the explorer when trying to open a project folder. The explorer on Windows looks similar
I posted on the jetbrains helpforum, the 'answer' was:
Relates to: https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/IDEA-100279
Duplicates: https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/IDEA-131303
Nothing anybody could have find out themselves, there does not seem to be a better answer than "give the folders related to PHPStorm the right icon, manually".
I am trying to install Github for Windows which is a ClickOnce application, however I am unable to start any ClickOnce application. I receive a pop up error saying "Application cannot be started, contact the application vendor".
I have seen that other users with this error have solved it by deleting the '2.0' folder in there 'users/USERNAME/AppData/Local/Apps/2.0' location. However, I do not have an 'Apps' folder in my 'AppData/Local' location and therefore unable to delete anything from it. I have tried creating an 'Apps' folder there and then trying to install the application but I receive the same error. When I run the following: '%UserProfile%\AppData\Local\Apps\2.0' it says that it refers to a location that is unavailable.
I have contacted Github support and they told me the same thing about deleting the '2.0' folder but alas I do not have the 'AppData/Local/Apps' location. They also told me to clear the cache by running this: rundll32 %SystemRoot%\system32\dfshim.dll CleanOnlineAppCache but that did not solve the problem either.
I do not have any anti-virus or firewall turned on either. I have also tried installing a different ClickOnce application and I received the same error. Is there some other folder I need to delete or some setting I need to change to get ClickOnce applications to start?
By Changing to Net Framework 4.0 got me working, changing and delete 2.0 made no difference but deleted the other apps.
The other apps were reinstalled automatically so no biggy, will try install latest 4.51 later.
I know this is a really old question. You should have a Apps folder at '%UserProfile%\AppData\Local\Apps\2.0'. You are probably unable to see the folder because you haven't enabled viewing of hidden folders in windows explorer. To resole this, launch windows explorer "windows key + e", hold down Alt and hit T (tools menu) then click folder options, click the "view" tab and then select:
"show hidden files, folders, and drives"
Uncheck:
"Hide empty drives in the Computer folder"
"Hide extensions for known file types"
"Hide protected operating system files (recommended)"
Note, not all of these are required to see the hidden folder "apps", this is how I always configure my setup though.
After this you should be able to see the folder at :
'%UserProfile%\AppData\Local\Apps\2.0'
Deleting the 2.0 folder usually works but you are also deleting any other click once applications that have been installed.
I have created a phonegap windows phone project, did the install and setup. It runs fine with the demo/default code when I run the emulator.
I have an existing android project. I drag my www folder to the windows project and nothing works.
The manifestprocessor.js does not build any of the new files in the xml. When I right click my new files I do not have an option to select a build action. I do not get any errors on the build. I want to also note that my default htnl file should load login.html (I updated the CordovaView.xaml.cs file) and the cordova.js files is inside the "js" folder in www, not on the root like the default setup.
Anyone have any ideas? I have never developed using visual studio, I am guessing I need to get my new files to be recognize so I can assign build actions I guess but since it won't let me I am not sure what to do, or even if that is the problem.
Thanks for your time and suggestions.
