Came across the wikipedia rss feed for their image of the day. I'd like to plug that into a test I'm doing, so their image of the day re displays on this new site. Right now, through using a rss code generator site, I'm able to display only the text. For ex my feed sort of just looks like:
Wikimedia Commons picture of the day for May 17
Picture of the day View of the rich ceiling of the Vank Cathedral in Isfahan, posibly the most impressive christi...
But no photos display. Does anyone know an easy way of adjusting this code I'm using generated from http://www.surfing-waves.com/feed.htm to display images as well? Thanks much. -Wilson

We have our own system which we need to integrate with MS Dynamics 365.For Example : In Accounts section we need to add an extra tab that loads IFrame or something that retrieves some extra information from our system.
The following are the things that I reached :
Inserting IFrame within a new Dashboard: (but it will not fetch specific account information, it will only pass the currently logged in user along with the organization name)
Unified Service Desk (USD): (we may add customization but this is a desktop app and we need it to be on web)
Microsoft flow: this would only work in the background when you create or edit an account (not sure if it has another functionality)
Extensions: Not sure how to use it to achieve the same functionality, I believe the solution may be here but I just need from where to start.
Has anybody done a similar thing before?
Thank you
You can definitely do it,
Here is how I just tried on one of my Trail Instance.
I added new Tab as you need, I called it "HTML Page"
On this Tab I added Webresource, you can add Iframe as well and call your external WebPage.
For my simple use case I created a simple HTML page as webresource in CRM and configured it to Webresource tab as below
Sample code for HTML. Dont worry about long html file. Mostly it is bla bla. What is of our importance is <body onload="myFunction()"> and then in
<script>
function myFunction() {
debugger;
alert("Account Id when from fromcontext is ");
alert(parent.Xrm.getformContext().data.entity.getId());
}
</script>
complete HTML code below
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN">
<html>
<head>
<title>My first styled page</title>
</head>
<body onload="myFunction()">
<!-- Site navigation menu -->
<ul class="navbar">
<li>Home page
<li>Musings
<li>My town
<li>Links
</ul>
<!-- Main content -->
<h1>My first styled page</h1>
<p>Welcome to my styled page!
<p>It lacks images, but at least it has style.
And it has links, even if they don't go
anywhere…
<p>There should be more here, but I don't know
what yet.
<!-- Sign and date the page, it's only polite! -->
<address>Made 5 April 2004<br>
by myself.</address>
<script>
function myFunction() {
debugger;
alert("Account Id when from fromcontext is ", parent.Xrm.getformContext().data.entity.getId());
}
</script>
</body>
</html>
Also on Form Load of account I added additional Javascript. This javascript will create global variable which could be called from your webresource.
Article Link for additional Javascript
Sample code used for Javascript below
formContext=null;
function onload(executionContext){
debugger;
var formContext = executionContext.getFormContext();
Xrm.getformContext = function (){
return formContext;
};
Xrm.getParentAttribute = function (attrName) {
debugger;
return formContext.getAttribute(attrName);
};
Xrm.getParentControl = function (attrName) {
debugger;
return formContext.getControl(attrName);
};
}
Final Result will be something like below
Summary:
Create Wberesource/Iframe
Create Additiona Js on Load
Use global variable in your webresource.
I would like to add pinterest's nopin code to my site, inside the <head>.
I am using a custom theme and navigated to: app/design/frontend/default/THEME NAME/template/page/html/head.phtml
I also tried: app/design/frontend/base/default/template/page/html/head.phtml
I pasted the nopin code provided by Pinterest:
<meta name="pinterest" content="nopin" description="Sorry, we do not allow pinning of our copyrighted materials" />
No joy! Is there a location that I can post this or do I need to protect each image another way?
If you want to cover the entire site, the tag must be placed in
\app\design\frontend\default\theme_name\template\page\html\head.phtml
assuming Current Package Name is "default".
Flush the cache and reindex all the data
Tested on my dev site and is showing the message: "Sorry, we do not allow pinning of our copyrighted materials"
Also check your pinterest code. I use this one:
<a href="//www.pinterest.com/pin/create/button/" data-pin-do="buttonPin" data-pin-config="beside" >
<img src="//assets.pinterest.com/images/pidgets/pinit_fg_en_rect_white_20.png" /></a>
<script type="text/javascript">
(function(d){
var f = d.getElementsByTagName('SCRIPT')[0], p = d.createElement('SCRIPT');
p.type = 'text/javascript';
p.async = true;
p.src = '//assets.pinterest.com/js/pinit.js';
f.parentNode.insertBefore(p, f);
}(document));
</script>
Hope this helps
I developed a website in Codeigniter, but it appends a hash string at the end of every url.
For example:
http://my_website.com/#.UR46O6Wj12I
I want to remove this hash string after every url or preventing it from being appended to the url.
Seems like you have also posted this question at ellislab, so I checked out your page through there. The problem lies in your javascript, not in codeigniter.
The code causing the hash is this in your html:
<div class="like_social">
<!-- AddThis Button BEGIN -->
<div class="addthis_toolbox addthis_default_style ">
<a class="addthis_button_facebook_like" fb:like:layout="button_count" style="width:75px; overflow:none"></a>
<a class="addthis_button_tweet" style="width:80px;overflow:none"></a>
<a class="addthis_button_linkedin_counter" style="width:100px;overflow:none"></a>
<a class="addthis_button_google_plusone" g:plusone:annotation="bubble"></a>
</div>
<script type="text/javascript">var addthis_config = {"data_track_addressbar":true};</script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="//s7.addthis.com/js/300/addthis_widget.js#pubid=ra-5112601232209e07"></script>
<!-- AddThis Button END -->
</div>
Like Rick Calder suggested, it's from some sort of an add-on, in this case a button from AddThis. More info from their support documentation can be found regarding that hash.
If you want to still keep that button, it seems that you can disable it by going to the advanced tab of the AddThis settings page and unchecking the Track address bar shares.
Alternatively, you can set data_track_addressbar to false.
please put this code end of the index file
<script type="text/javascript">
var addthis_config = addthis_config||{};
addthis_config.data_track_addressbar = false;
</script>
if you use tpl ddon forget {literal}this code{/literal}
this will helpfull
I'm trying to add the "Pin it" button from Pinterest to the pruduct detail pages in our website.
So far I've tried:
Pin It
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://assets.pinterest.com/js/pinit.js"></script>
and
Pin It
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://assets.pinterest.com/js/pinit.js"></script>
With any of these I can get the pruduct's URL and the product's name, but I can not get the product's image. So the post does not work (it needs all 3 items to work: URL, Media and Description)
When I try this:
Pin It
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://assets.pinterest.com/js/pinit.js"></script>
I can post the product's image, but the URL is not dynamic (I'm just using the absolute URL to the website).
Any ideas on how I could implement this button in my product detail pages?
Most of the answers here don't urlencode() the querystring that's generated for the pinterest link, so I'm a little surprised they've been working - my approach has been a variant of Andrew's that uses http_build_query() to do this for me.
The following code would work when placed inside template/catalog/product/view.phtml:
<!--START PIN BUTTON-->
<?php
$_pinlink['url'] = $_product->getProductUrl();
$_pinlink['media'] = $this->helper('catalog/image')->init($_product, 'image')->__toString() ;
$_pinlink['description'] = $_helper->productAttribute($_product, $_product->getName(), 'name') . " - " . strip_tags($_product->getDescription());
?>
<script type="text/javascript" src="//assets.pinterest.com/js/pinit.js"></script>
<!--END PIN BUTTON-->
I've also noticed that Pinterest strips all html tags from posted descriptions, so there didn't seem much point in passing them through - hence the strip tags on the description.
This seems to work for me:
Pin It
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://assets.pinterest.com/js/pinit.js"></script>
My only concern with this is that it gives the cached image url - rather than a direct one. I do not know how permanent this cached url is. It would seem better to refer to the 'source' rather than the cached version in this instance. But I am not sure....
Have you ever try to get current product url in your code? As a result, in product view page, the URL of the product available, just get this url like below :
$curProductUrl = $this->helper('core/url')->getCurrentUrl();
// or we can take product id then use in the code
$_product = $this->getProduct();
$_id = $_product->getId();
$_productUrl = $_product->getProductUrl();
$_smallImageUrl = $_product->getSmallImageUrl();
Try this for adding the image to Pinterest. It has worked well for me.
$this->helper('catalog/image')->init($_product, 'image')->resize(150)
The URL you are generating has semicolons after each parameter. Is that intentional? (... replaces your <? php ?> blocks)
Pin It
&media;, &description;.
Try removing the semicolons.
Also, if your output is not automatically HTML escaped the ampersands should be HTML entities instead: &media= and &description=.
Here's my version of the Pin It button for magento product pages and it works beautifully.
I use the canonical url of the product. For the description: I first insert the name of the product, followed by two breaks (%0A), followed by the description of the product. The htmlentities code for the product description will convert any quotes you have so Pinterest can read it.
<!--START PIN BUTTON-->
<script type="text/javascript" src="//assets.pinterest.com/js/pinit.js"></script>
<!--END PIN BUTTON-->
Here is what you have to do:
Copy and paste this code into your themes view.phtml file and your all set:
<img border="0" src="//assets.pinterest.com/images/PinExt.png" title="Pin It" />
<script type="text/javascript" src="//assets.pinterest.com/js/pinit.js"></script>
This will load the product description, image, and link
Sometimes if you put the url later in the dynamic url, it will get stuck loading. So just copy/paste the code above and your done. No customization required.
This works for me:
<a href="//www.pinterest.com/pin/create/button/" data-pin-do="buttonPin" data-pin-config="beside" >
<img src="//assets.pinterest.com/images/pidgets/pinit_fg_en_rect_white_20.png" /></a>
<script type="text/javascript">
(function(d){
var f = d.getElementsByTagName('SCRIPT')[0], p = d.createElement('SCRIPT');
p.type = 'text/javascript';
p.async = true;
p.src = '//assets.pinterest.com/js/pinit.js';
f.parentNode.insertBefore(p, f);
}(document));
</script>
But it uses the cached images ...
I'm trying to use the original image path, but with no success until now.
Hope this helps
I am doing a university project involving a sort of social network for recipes.
In order to have the database populated by ingredients, I have written a simple form that may add them to the db. Ingredients contain an image which I'd like people to add.
In order not to have my website flooded with uploads, I was thinking about a small google images iframe in which people click on the image they want, so that I can display it by its link (I expect every ingredient to be within the very first results in google images).
My problem is that Google's toolbar (the one they introduced with Google+) is quite annoying, and it takes a lot of the space I want the iframe to occupy.
Are there any workarounds? :-)
That's kind of a "Forever alone" question (I have even got the Tumbleweed achievement on this one :V ).
I arranged something myself, so I'll share :-)
